In 1910 Routt County, Colorado, Adolph is farming, 47, born in Germany, single, living alone.
In 1920, Adolph is in San Diego, 58, immigrating in 1867, naturalized in 1876.
November 18, 1921 Steamboat Springs, Colorado "President Richard Jones of the First National bank,
accompanied by A. F. Dannies, left Saturday in the former's Franklin car for San Diego,
where they will remain until spring."
August 1924 Steamboat Springs " Miss Emily M. Dannies, a trained nurse from Burlington, Iowa,
arrived yesterday for a visit with her uncle, Adolph Dannies. She is on her way to Montana."
In 1930 Denver, Adolph is single, 68, living in a big rooming house on Larimer Street.
June 1, 1939 Steamboat Springs "Walter Lipplncott of Denver is again spending the summer here.
He will camp out as usual. For the past 14 years he and A. F. Dannies liave been camping and fishing
together. Mr. Dannies will remain at the Pioneer hotel this summer because he cannot drive his car
on account of eye trouble. He spent the winter in San Diego, California."
September 13, 1945 "Adolph F. Dannies, resident of Routt county for more than 40 years,
died here Friday after a short illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 3 p. m.,
at the Heyer Mortuary with Rev. Calvin F. Busch in charge. Burial was in the Steamboat cemetery.
Mr. Dannies was 82 last Christmas day. He was born in Germany but came to this country at an early
age with his parents, who settled on a farm near Burlington, Iowa. Mr. Dannies had been in various
parts of the country but came to Routt county to make his home shortly after the turn cf the
century. He owned considerable property here including a fine ranch on the Mesa.
Of late years he spent his winters in Hot Springs, N. M., but always returned here in the spring.
He was never married. He is survived by two nieces and a nephew, Miss Emily M. Dannies
of Burlington, who came here for the services; Edward F. Dannies of Burlington and
Mrs. Clara D. Simpson of Inglewood, Calif."
November 1, 1945 Steamboat Springs "A. F. Dannies, long-time resident of Routt county,
left an estate of an estimated value of $ 30,000 it was shown this week when his will was admitted
to probate by County Judge John W. Cole. Miss Emily Dannies of Burlington, Iowa, a niece,
was appointed special administratrix to collect. Addison M. Gooding is attorney for the estate.
Heirs in addition to Miss Emily Dannies, who was in Steamboat this week, are Edward Dannies,
a nephew of Burlington ; Clara Simpson, a niece of Englewood, Calif. ;
Emma Kiersey, a cousin of Middletown, Iowa; and Alpha Sattler, a child friend reared by his sister,
Louise, in Burlington. The property is divided equally among them."
The niece must have taken Adolph's body back to Iowa, with a stone in Des Moines County # 35230200.
Louie F. Dannies 1865-1905 is buried in Lee County, Iowa # 78250105, with Minnie 1868-1898.
William E. Madlener is buried in Des Moines, County, dying 1938 # 105780872.
Louise married a Madlener, and stayed in Des Moines County>
