In 1885 Gosper County, Nebraska, Geo Bowen is 50, farming, with Harriet 40, Elizabeth 21, Goe Jr. 21, Milton 19, Thomas 17, Hassall (probably Charles), Virginia 9, Asa 7, and Russel 5.

George, a civil engineer, and Harriet are back east in 1900, in Burlington County, New Jersey. George was born May 1835 iin England, with Harriet M. Aug 1842 New Jersey. Asa H. July 1877 and Russell H. April 1880 are with them.
Harriet Morgan (Harmer) Bowen 1842-1917 is buried in Palmyra, New Jersey # 31851609, with George 1835-1902.
# 10466660 says "Civil War Union Army Officer. He served first as a Captain in the 3rd Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery, then as Lieutenant Colonel and Colonel of the 188th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. "

He's buried in Palmyra, New Jersey 1880-1954 # 162130516, spoiuse Louise 1883-1912 and Ida 1885-1976.
George claimed a quarter in 34, 7S 43W in 1890.

He might be the George K. Bowen, a saloon keeper in 1900 Whitman County, Washington, born March 1865 in Pennsylvania, with Alice May 1865 Ohio, just married.

December 1904 Colfax Washington, "The Richelieu saloon and restaurant of Tekoa has been sold by George K. Bowen to Philip Stanley for a consider ation of ยง7000. Mr. Stanley is a large property owner in Tekoa and formerly owned the Senate saloon. Mr. Bowen will go east shortly with his family in the effort to recuperate his health."

In 1916 Alice sold a lot in Tekoa, Whitman County to T.C. Massey.

In 1918 Spokane, Alice S. Bowen (wid Geo K.) is living at 707 N. Monroe.
In 1920 Alice S. "Bowan" is at 1209 N. Oak, Spokane.
She's in the 1920 Spokane census, widowed, born 1862 in Ohio.
D.F. Spurgin died Sept 17, 1924 in Ferry County, Washington, born about 1867, spouse Alice S. Spurgin.
Alice Spurgin, born about 1859, died in Spokane July 4, 1927, spouse Dan Spurgin, father William Shafer, mother Elizabeth Clark.

0n November 16, 1916, Alice S. Spurgin, then Alice S. Bowen, made and delivered to one B. F. Williamson her promissory note for $5,000, due ten years after its date. The provision for interest was expressed by the phrase, "Interest 5% from date." It was testified by Williamson that the maker of the note, on November 1, 1926, paid the interest on the note to that date in full, and paid $200 on the principal sum of the note. The note bears an indorsement to that effect, and an indorsement, apparently made at the same time, extending the time of payment of the note for one year. On November 6, 1926, Williamson transferred the note to the appellant, Gunderson, indorsing it without recourse.
Mrs. Spurgin died in July, 1927, and the respondent, Green, was appointed administrator of her estate.
