In 1860 Chester County, Pennsylvania, Marshall Baily is 36, Eliza J. 40, Agnes M. 9, Caroline S. 4, and Pierce W. ten months.
In 1870 Chester COunty, Marshall is 46, Eliza 50, Carolline 14, "Price" 11.
In 1880 Delaware COunty, Pennsylvania, Lola Whiteman is 18, with parents Henry 52 and Sarah A. 42, farming. Thomas is 20, Suella 16, Sarah A. 14, Harry 12, Mary E. 10, Calvin 8, Louisa 5, and Myrtle 1.

"Lola Whiteman was born on her parents' farm in Mill Creek Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware, in 1862. Her parents were Henry Whiteman Jr. and his wife, Sarah Ann (Moore) Whiteman.
In 1881, when she was 19 years old, Lola Whiteman had an affair with a Quaker man from Kennett Square, Pennsylvania: Pierce Webb Baily but they did not get married. In August 1882, Lola had a baby girl at her family home in New Castle County, Delaware. She was named "Minnie" Whiteman. According to family lore, Minnie was left with her maternal grandparents while their daughter, Lola Whiteman, and Pierce Baily left town to make their fortune in Colorado, which was undergoing a silver-mine boom at that time. "
Pierce cash-claimed a quarter in 21, 7S 42W in 1891.
The Goff area items in the Kit Carson mention an accident of Mrs. W. P. Baily and Mrs. W. P. Baily.



In 1900 Delaware County, Pennsylvania, Pierce W. Baily is a farm laborer, born July 1859 in Pennsylvania. Hannah V, wife of four yhears born April 1873 in Pennsylvania. Marshall is a son born March 1886 Pennsylvania, and Henry W. Nov 1889 Colorado.
Pierce W. Baily, a foreman, born July 3, 1854 in Pennsylvania to Marshall Baily and Elizabeth J. Webb of Pennsylvania, died October 9, 1909 in Chester County Pennsylvania. He had been injured in an accident at the coke ovens. Hanna Baily was the informant. He's buried in the Mendenhall cemetery (Kennett Square), Chester County, # 147622613. Marshall Baily 1824-1904 is buried there # 147629547, as is Eliza Jane Baily 1820-1900 # 147622577.

Henry W. Baily registered for WWI in Newark, New Jersey, born Nov 23, 1888 at Denver, a locomotive crane foreman, with a wife and child.
Henry Whiteman "Bailey" married Agnes Martha Busse in Summit County, Ohio in 1942, once divorced. He said his father was Pierce Bailey, mother Lola Whiteman.

Marshall Baily, born March 10, 1886 in Pennsylvania, died in Pennsylvania October 8, 1906 of tuberculosis, a laborer, single.

Marshall Baily was born in March 1886 in Colorado (exact town is not certain). His parents were Pierce W. Baily and his wife Lola (Whiteman) Baily. His parents already had a daughter, Minnie Whiteman, born in August 1883, but she had been left in Delaware with her maternal grand-parents while her parents went to "seek their fortune" in Colorado's silver boom of the 1880s.
Unfortunately, complications following Marshall's birth were too much for the health of his young mother. Lola Whiteman Baily died shortly after he was born and was buried in Colorado; the exact location remains unknown. His father and young Marshall eventually returned to Pierce Baily's home state of Pennsylvania. They lived in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, a few miles from Pierce's family home in Kennett Square, PA. The family were Quakers. Pierce W. Baily was a crane operator and eventually a foreman at a local coke ovens manufacturing company. Apparently, he re-married in Pennsylvania as his death certificate (1909) was signed by an "Anna Baily" and he was listed as "married".


Minnie (Baily) Robinson 1882-1966 is buried in Vineland, New Jersey # 99330531 "Daughter of Pierce Webb Baily & Lola Whiteman who removed to Colorado where Lola unexpectedly passed away, Minnie was raised by her maternal Grandparents, Henry & Sarah Anne Whiteman on the farm where she was born.
Minnie operated a poultry farm for many years in Landis, Cumberland County, with her husband of 29 years, Albert Nelson Robinson, to whom she married in Philadelphia in 1902 and survived. In later years Minnie was employed as an attendant at the Vineland State School. She is survived by two sons, Ralph W. Robinson & Enoch H. Robinson and their respective families. "


In 1900 "Wm P. Baily, near Newton" was using river water to irigate his trees and gardens.


Pierce's sister is the Agnes M. Herr in 1900 Denver, born May 1851 in Pennsylvania, married 30 years to Abr. S. Herr, a liquor dealer born Feb 1848 Pennsylvania. They hae Marshall (named after grandfather?) Dec 1870, Pierce Oct 1872, Martha J. Nov 1877, and B. Eliza March 1883 , all born in Pennsylvania.
Abram S. Herr cash-claimed a quarter in 14, 2N 48W in 1891 - Yuma County.

She's buried in Golden, Colorado 1850-1935 # 53261228, with Abram S. Herr 1848-1924.
