In 1900 Canon City, Colorado, Charles Whitmore born October 1850 in Ohio, married 16 years to Eva E. June 1857 New York, have Eula V. Jan 1886 Iowa and Marguerite July 1894 Colorado. But this one is Charles H. Whitmore.

In 1880 Jasper County, Iowa, George Whitmer, farming is 52, Mary 52, both born in Germany, William 24, John 21, Fred 18, Annie 16, Henry 12, Christina 10, Charles 8, and George 4, all kids born in Iowa.
Charles is working for his brother William "Wittmer" in 1900 Jasper County. William has four kids.
In 1910 Charles is in Washington County, Kansas (where a couple of other familes had been before moving to Kit Carson County). He's married to Dora nine years, who's 28, born in Kansas. Edith is 8, son Fay 4, and Myra 2. Next household is Francis 61 and Amand 64 Terpening, both born in Ohio.
Charles J. and Dora E. (Terpening) Wittmer had Charles F. Wittmer in Albia Kansas in 1905. - moving to Weld COunty in 1916.
In 1920 Weld County, Colorado, Charles is 48, Dora 38, Edith E. 18, Fay 14, Ruby 8, and son Pearle L. 1.
Charles John Wittmer is buried in Cheyenne, Wyoming 1872-1948, # 29162611 with Dora 1881-1966.
BUT this one proved up on two quarters in Weld County in 1920.

C. W. Whitmore in 1895 Topeka Kansas, 53, with Helen 44.
Charles W. Whitmore in 1900 Topeka, Kansas, a lawyer born June 1841 in New York, married 33 years to Helen May 1850 New York.
1919 Topeka "Will meet at the Masonic Temple, today at 2 p. m., to conduct the funeral services of Bro. Charles W. Whitmore, who died in Jamestown, N. Y., Monday. All Masons are urged to be present and bring cars if possible. Burial in Topeka cemetery."
Charles W. Whitmore proved up a quarter in 13, 8S 42W, Sherman County, Kansas, in 1889. This was less than five miles from Charles J.'s claim.

ANOTHER POSSIBLE 1895 Staunton, Virginia " Charles W. Whitmore, son of Mr. Joseph M. Whitmore, a former resident of Augusta county, has purchased a fine flouring mill at Topeka, Kansas for the sum of fourteen thousand dollars. Charlie has many friends in his native county who will be glad to hear of his financial hoist."


In 1900 Thermopolis, Wyoming, Charles W. Whitmore born August 1858 in Illinois, is living alone, a hunter-trapper.
This Charles is in Big Horn County, Wyoming in 1910, still single, still a hunter-trapper.
