Mary N. Barker [Baker] was born September 15th, 1836, near Rockville, Parke Co., Indiana. With her parents she moved to Taylor County, Iowa, in 1845. She united with the Union Baptist Church in 1866.
December 25th, 1856, she was united in marriage to John C. Van Camp. To this union were born ten children, two sons and eight daughters. Two daughters died in infancy and later in life two: Mrs. Ed [win] Beall [Alpha Belle] and Mrs. G. [eorge] R. [iley] John [Mary]. The living children are: Geo. W., of Ottawa, Kansas; David of Bedford; Sarah, Mrs. B. F. [rank] Larison of Bedford; Martha, Mrs. J. [oseph] M. John of Denver, Colorado; Laura, Mrs. V. V. Boyer of Warrensburg, Mo., and Millie M. [Mildred Maude], Mrs. Wm Townsend of Bedford. Her husband died about a year ago. Mrs. Van Camp died January 19, 1911, age 74 years, 4 months and 4 days.
George, son of John and Mary M. (Baker) VanCamp, married Elmira A. Nieles in Keokuk County December 19, 1889.
George cash-claimed a quarter in 32, 7S 42W in 1891.
In 1900 Nodaway County, Missouri, George born January 1866 in Iowa, with "Alice" December 1867 Wisconsin have been married ten years.
In 1913 Ottawa, Kansas, George- a carpenter- and Allie live at 744 S. Locust.

In 1915 Franklin County, Kansas, G. W. is 49, Almira 47.
They're living at 939 S Hickory in Ottawa, Kansas, in 1916, where George is a caarpenter.

In 1920 Lawrence, Kansas, George is a carpenter, 53, Almira 52, with Edard 8, Pennsylvania.
George 1866-1922 is buried in Taylor County, Iowa # 14050753, with Almira 1867-1951.
Almira was the daughter of Benjamin Niles and Maggie Weir. She married George VanCamp in 1889. After he died she married John Harvy. She had an adopted son, Edward Henry Stanley Stevenson VanCamp, born about October 1911.
