James Picken 1803-1888 is buried in Caledonia, Boone County, Illlinois # 53435000, with Mary (Reid) Picken 1809-1887.

Mrs. Mary Patton, 84, a resident of Cerro Gordo county for the past 50 years, died at 11 o'clock Monday night at her home one-fourth mile north of Burcbinal. She was in fairly good health until a week ago Monday night, when she suffered a fall. It was necessary that she remain in bed and her health failed rapidly, as pneumonia set in. Funeral services will be held a£ 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the M. E. church at Burchinal. The Rev. Mr. Carver of Thornton will officiate. The body is now at the Patterson funeral home. Mrs. Patton was born June 15, 1849, in Argyle, 111. She moved from there to this county. Surviving are her husband, Donald Patton; four sons, Dan Patton of Clear Lake, James and George E. Patton and Burchinal and H. T. Patton of Moango, N. Dak.; a grandson, Wayne and a granddaughter, Fayne, of Clear Lake.

D. PATTON, 90, DIES AT HOME
Succumbs Following Death of Wife Two Weeks Ago;
Rites Wednesday.
Donald Patton, 90, died at his farm home one-fourth of a mile north of Burchinal about 4:15 o'clock Monday afternoon. His wife, Mary, died at the same home two weeks ago Monday. Both had lived in Cerro Gordo county more than 50 years. Mr. Patton was born in Campbelltown, Scotland, but came to this country about 70 years ago. He was engaged in farming throughout his life. Surviving Mr. Patton are his four sons, Dan of Clear Lake, James and George of Burchinal, Hugh T. of Monago, N. Dak., and two grandchildren, Wayne Patton and Mrs. Fayne Huntly of Clear Lake. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Methodist church of Burchinal. The Rev. Mr. Carver of Thornton will be in charge of the services. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery. The body was taken to the Patterson funeral home."
Donald is buried in Mason City # 6299154. So is Mary # 6299155.

In 1940 George and James are still farming in Cerro Gordo County - and they have a 60--year-old housekeeper.
Dan is in Cerro Gordo County in 1925, born 1878 in Illinois to Donald and Mary (Picken) Patton. He's married to Etta 41, with Wayne D. 11 and Fayne M. 9.
