Rudolph R. and Agnes (Stone) Kolacny, brother Joseph F. Kolacny, 7S 42W
 


In 1920 Sherman County, Joseph and Anna Kolacny, both born in Bohemia, have Rudolph 26, Charley 20, and Willie 17, all three born in Kansas.
He might be the "Waclav" Kolacny that proved up a quarter in 6, 6S 39W, Sherman County, Kansas, in 1900.

Rudolph proved up 75 acres in 4, 7S 42W in 1921.

In 1930 Wallace County, Kansas, Rudolph R. 37 and Kate A. 28 have Vida M. 6 and Gordon S. 4.
In 1940 Sherman County, Kansas, Rudolph is 47, Kate 38, Viola 16, Gordon 14, and Cora Ann 5.

Rudolph R. Kolacny 1892-1956 is buried in Goodland, # 46583408.
"Mr Kolacny was the son of pioneer parents, Joseph and Hanna Kolacny, who were early day settlers and operators of a tailoring and cleaning establishment. He learned the trade from his father who at that time operated the Kolacny Tailor Shop,now known as the Elite Cleaners.
He was married in Goodland on May 26,1922 to Agnes K. Stone, a school teacher at the time. They made their first home in Goodland and then moved to a farm in 1925. Several years later they moved back to Goodland where he again took up the cleaning business with his father.
Mr. Kolacny was a member of the Methodist Church, the Men's Bible Class of the Methodist Church,a veteran of World War I,a member of the American Legion, IOOF and Rebekah Lodges. He was an outstanding musician and instructor of stringed instruments.
Mr. Kolacny passed away at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, February 22. His body was brought to Goodland Friday afternoon where it was met by the Sage Ambulance Service and an American Legion escort.
He leaves in addition to his wife, three children; Mrs. Viola Medler of Japan, Gordon of Denver and Cora of Denver; six grandchildren;five brothers and one sister,Jerry of Goodland,Joe of Powell,Wyo.,Edward of Englewood,Colo., Charles of Baldwin,Kans.,William of Denver and Mrs. Anna Murray of Goodland.
Casket bearers were members of the I.O.O.F. and Honorary Bearers were members of the Men's Bible Class of the Methodist Church. Interment was in the Goodland Cemetery.

"Agnes Kate Kolacny, 90, of Goodland,died Friday,May 29 at the Good Samaritan Hospital Center in Goodland, where she had been a resident since 1988.
Funeral services were held Monday,June 1 at the First United Methodist Church in Goodland with burial in the Goodland Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Tom Schneider officiated.
Mrs. Kolacny was born Oct. 27, 1901 in Turkville,Kan. She was the daughter of Alfred and Amanda Cora Ann (King) Stone. She attended school in Turkville and graduated from Fort Hays State College with a bachelor of science degree in education in 1962 at the age of 61. She taught school from 1958 to 1972.
She married Rudolph Russell Kolacny May 26,1922 in the Methodist Church parsonage in Goodland. He preceded her in death in 1956.
She was a member of the Rebecca's, Athena Club,The United Methodist Church and the Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by three children: Viola Medler, Arlington, Texas, Gordon Kolacny, Castle Rock, Colo., and Cora Vergle, Manitou Springs, Colorado; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. "


JOSEPH

Joseph Kolacny proved up 44 acres in 11S. 43W, Kit Carson County in 1932.
Joseph 1888-1988 is buried in Powell, Wyoming # 46915006.
"Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Powell for Joseph F. Kolacny, 100 years old, who died Christmas Day, Dec. 25 in the Powell Hospital.
Pastor Roy Kooshian officiated at 2p.m. services Tuesdial. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Kolacny turned 100 on Nov 11,1988 and was honord at an open house birthday celebration at the PowellNursing Home where he lived for the last several years.
He was born Nov. 11,1888 at Goodland,Kans.,a son of Joseph and Anna Kolacny. He was raised on a farm there and attended schools in Goodland. He married Lula Mae Peterson in Goodland in 1913, and they farmed in the area until the early 1930s when they moved to Colorado.
Following the death of his wife in 1950, he moved to Powell to be near his children. A self-taught musician, he worked for a number of years for Cary's Music Store in Powell and for Mrs. Cary at her Hunter Peak Ranch. He was the oldest member of the Wyoming Fiddlers Association and played the fiddle regularly until hearing failure in recent years.
He also enjoyed playing cards and for a number of years worked in the pool and card parlor at Hank's cafe.
Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Josephine Carpenter; a son, J. William Kolacny of Clark; 11 grandchildren;16 great-grandchildren andnine great-great grandchildren. "
His wife Lula is buried in Fort Morgan, Colorado. Wife of Joseph Kolacny. Daughter of Christian P and Ida May (Sprague)Peterson.
