In 1870 William Hill is 37, born in New Hampshire, a saloon keeper in Kit Carson, Greenwood County.
He's living with Mary Johnson, 36 Ireland and her four kids.

The Hedlund House Museum located on the SW corner of 4th Ave and 7th St in Hugo. Nearly a century and a half have passed since William A. Hill, a Civil War veteran from Massachusetts, arrived on this spot.
In those days, cattle comprised the only local industry, and this undeveloped land rested along the stage line between the Willow Springs and Lake stations.
Mr. Hill and his partner operated a general store and trading post, serving the new rail line constructed by the Kansas Pacific Railway Co. in 1870. Mr. Hill filed his homestead claim in 1875 and platted the town that ultimately came to be called “Hugo.”
In 1877, Mr. Hill built this house, and lived in it for nine years. Gip Beasley made his home here for two years, until Mr. Hill moved his family back in, in 1889. Over the next 18 years, residents of this house included Frank Tompkins (four years), John C. Wilson (six years), L. D. Rockey (five years), and James Dostal (four years).

In 1880 this William Hill sells groceries in Hugo ( Elbert County at that time), 44, born in Massachusetts (parents birth unknown, so the infor might have been given by his wife) Josephine 23 Ohio. They have George 2 and Ida eleven months, both born in Colorado.
In 1885 Elbert County, W. A. is a cattleman, 49, Josephine 26, George 7, Ida L. 6, and Lotta 1.

William proved up a quarter in 10S 54W in 1878.
William A Hill timber-claimed a quarter in 10S 55W in 1895. Both would be near Hugo.
In 1900 Hugo (First names obscured) born June 1837 in New Hampshire is a capitalist, ? July 1856, married 23 years, son January 1878 is a railroad laborer, and daguther June 1879 has no occuptation. and daughter April 1884 is at school. Granddaughter Feb 1899 was born in Colorado.
In 1910 Hugo, W.A. is 72, no occupation, Josephine 67.
William A. Hill 1838-1917 "1st Lieut Co M. 7th N. H." is buried in Hugo, # 9195813.

1919 - Mrs. Josephine Hill was visiting in Colorado Springs with her daughter Mrs. O. L. Ingram and family, and her sister, Mrs. Ida Towse.

Josephine Hill 1857-1926 is buried in Hugo # 9195815.

GEORGE
February 1897 "George Hill, who has been working for John Mackenzie on Rush creek the past three months, came home Wednesday to visit his parents and sisters. George is looking good and intends to return to his work soon."
March 1897 "George Hill, who is in the employ of his uncle, Dan Towse of River Bend, made a pleasant two days' visit with his parents and sisters in Hugo last week."
In 1900 George is a railroad laborer, foreman Alfred and Mary Medcraft in Limon precinct, Lincoln County.

April 10, 1915



William's obituary said George L. Hill was "a prosperous farmer of near Resolia, this state."
(Resolis was established in 1888 in Elbert County, and a post office 1890-1914.)

In 1920 Elbert County farming are George 42 and Daisy 29, born in Indiana and in 1930 George 52 and Daisy 39 are farming in Elbert County.

George is living alone in 1940 Elbert County, farming.

George L. Hill 1878-1966 is buried in Hugo # 9262412.

LOTTIE / CHARLOTTE
One tree says Lottie born April 17, 1884, married Oliver Ingraham/Ingram
Lottie L. Hill married Oliver L. Ingram on September 24, 1902, recorded in Lincoln County.
July 24, 1909 "Mrs. W. A. Hill left for Colorado Springs Wednesday morning, in response to a telegram announcing the death of her little grand-daughter, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Ingram.
In 1910 Colorado City, Colorado, Oliver is a foreman for a barrell house 35, born in Iowa, Lottie L. 26 Colorado, have Earl 6 and Raymond 3, both born in Colorado.
1917 Hugo "Raymond Ingram arrived this week from Colorado City, Colo, for a two months visit at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Hill."
1918 Hugo "Mrs. Lottie Ingram has been here from Colorado Springs, for the past week, at the bedside of her mother, Mrs. Josephine Hill, who is now steadily improving and convalescent from an attack of pneumonia.
In 1920 El Paso County, Oliver is managing a farm, Earl 16 and Raymond 13 are on the lines above.
They're in Denver in 1930, where Oliver is a fireman at an apartment house (probably runs the boiler)., and Raymond M. 23, an auto mechanic, is living with them.
Earl is divorced in 1930 Colorado Springs, a steam engineer at the Woodmen tuburculus sanitarium, 26, with son Elliott A. 6.
Elliott Allsworth Ingram was born Aug 26, 1928 to Earl Ingram and Madeline Elliott, and died May 24, 2000, buried in Anrlington National Cemetery, # 8772660. Air Force 1944-1952.

IDA
Ida L. Hill married Laurin F. Gregory December 22, 1897, recorded in Lincoln County.
In 1910 Donley County, Texas, Ida is married to Laurin Gregory, 37, born in Illinois. They have Alberta M. 11 Colorado, Frances E. 10 Colorado, Helen M. 6, Jackson (daughter) 3 and Hazel nine months, all three born in Texas. They have eight hired men on the ranch.
When Nevel was born February 8, 1912 in Donley County, Laurin was a ranch foreman,m and they lived on Rowus Ranch.
In 1920 they have only Alburta 21, Frances 18, Jack 13, Hazel 10, Nevel 8, Constance 3, and Kingsley 1.

Laurin Francis Gregory, born May 20, 1871 in Illinois, divorced, died in Amarillo February 23, 1958, to be buried in Clarendon Texas, # 53697173.
In 1940 Delta County, Colorado, Ida L. is 60, divorced, living with Dan and Alberta Kehmeier and their six kids.

Ida L. Gregory 1879-1969 is buried in Grand Junction, Colorado # 32264612.
In 1930 Delta County, Colorado, Alberta is 31, married to Dan W. Kehmeier, farming, with Alan 4, Wesley 3, Billy 2, and Ioa three months, all four born in Colorado, Living with them are her siblilngs Jacck C. 23, Hazel V. 19, C. Kathleen 13, and Kingsley 11, all four born in Texas.

Alburta Muriel Kehmeier 1899-1978 is buried in Eckert, Colorado # 26530307.
Jack is a hired man in 1940 Delta County, Colorado, 33, working for J. W. and Cora Hawkin.
Nevel Gregory is a hired man in 1930 Delta County, 18, working for Charles Beaver.
He's buried in Grand Junction 1912-1981 # 32264594, sharing a stone with Esther D. 1914-2006
Kingsley 1918-2006 is buried in Grand Junction # 32264578, on a stone with Betty E. 1922 -
Hazel L. (Gregory) Conwell, per # 33750833, is buried in Grand Junction 1909-2002.

He could be the William Hill who cash-claimed a quarter in 15, 6S 40W (Sherman County, Kansas) in 1891.

ANOTHER POSSIBLE
There was a William Lee Hill, stock raiser, in 1900 Lincoln County, Colorado, born Feb 1869 in Missouri, married three years to Eva. Vada L. Feb 1898 and Edward E. Feb 1899 were born in Colorado. Next to them is Edwin Hill Sept 1870 and Artie Feb 1882, both Missouri. Edward Hill married Artie M. Wilkerson March 1, 1900, recorded in Lincoln County.

William is buried in Salem Oregon, dying in 1856, # 73799319, with Eva Ricketts (Brady) Hill 1874-1963.
He was in Will County, Illinois in 1880, age 9, with stepfather Frances Sulvane 35 and Elizabeth 37. Nora Hill is 13, Charles Hill 15, and Eddie Hill 12.
Vada (Hill) Bates 1898-1977 was born in Colorado.
So was Marguerite (Hill) Wilkinson 1903-1978, buried in Corvallis, Oregon.
