February 1922, Belleville Kansas "Word was received here last week that Leslie Hilborn was killed Jan. 28 while helping a neighbor blast out stumps. He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hilborn, who formerly lived north of Courtland, but now live near Abilene. A large number of old time friends gathered at the cemetery Saturday for the funeral services. "
