Walker and Benj. are with them in 1880, with Mary A. 27, George W. 22, Robert L. 13 and Curtis T. 11.

Alexander died in 1899, and is buried in Buchanan County # 449459672., with Elizabeth A.

An Aged Father Gone.
Ben L. Guinn and his brother, Robert L. Guinn of Longwood township were recently called to Gower, Missouri, by the illness of their father. while they were by his bedside he passed away at the advanced age of 81 years, leaving an aged wife and nine children to mourn his death. All the living children save Mrs. Taylor Poteet of Longwood, were present at the funeral. The father had been a pioneer of Missouri, coming there from Illinois when a boy. He had been married to the wife who survives him fifty-three years, and has lived on the same farm all that time. His start in life was laid by running a ferry boat at Blue Mill landing on the Missouri river. He was a member of the first jury which formally tried a case at law in St. Joseph and that jury sat under a tree with only its spreading branches for a roof. Through all his life he was an honorable and upright man. What more need be said at the close of a life which has been a success and an example for all."

In 1910 Kay County, Oklahoma, B. L. Guinn is 46, Maggie 36, B. 18. , Shelby 16, G. 11, and N. 5.
In 1920 they have only Naomi, 15.
In 1930 Ben and Maggie have a roomer, and Robert Guinn, brother 64 is living with them.

Lifelong Ponca City resident, Bob Loan Guinn, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to everyone fortunate enough to meet him, lived a blessed, Christian life for 90 plus years. He left this earthly domain after a short battle with cancer to enter the heavenly kingdom that awaited him on Saturday, July 5, 2014. As he was in life, Dad will forever remain the rock of our family until the day he eagerly greets each of us again, and he’ll no doubt have a whole new array of stories, remembrances and recollections that we will never grow tired of hearing.
Bob Guinn was born east of Ponca City on December 15, 1923 the second son to the late Shelby and Millie Kennett Guinn, and the grandson of Benjamin and Maggie Guinn, original homesteaders of the 1893 Cherokee Strip Land Run. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers James, Don, and Rex and his sister Jean Bruce.


Naomi Jean Bruce, Ponca City resident, past away Monday, October 24, 2005 at her home in Ponca City, OK. She was 70.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, October 27, 2005 at the Sunset Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Ledbetter, pastor of Sunset Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Longwood Cemetery. Arrangements are made under the direction of Trout Funeral Home.
Jean was born on February 18, 1935, to Shelby L. Guinn and Millie Nee (Kennett) Guinn in Ponca City, OK. She graduated Ponca City High School in 1953 and started training for Western Union. During her employment for Western Union she married George P. Bruce on February 17, 1956 in Enid, OK. After several more years of working for Western Union Jean worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Pinkerton. Later in Jean’s life she drove buses for the Kildare school system and the Ponca City School System. Jean enjoyed camping, fishing, and socializing with her friends, but most of all she loved to be with her family . She is survived by her husband George Bruce of the home; one son Gary Bruce and wife Anita of Shawnee, OK; two grandchildren Heath Lawson and Kati Lawson; and two brothers Bob Guinn and wife Shirley of Ponca City, OK and twin brother Rex Guinn and wife Evelyn of Ponca City, OK and numerous friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers James B. Guinn and Don R. Guinn.

WALKER
Walker T. Guinn cash-claimed a quarter in 31, 6S 42W in 1890 - less than a mile from Ben.

In 1900 Buchanan County, Walker born April 1860 in Missouri, is single, farming. Widowed mother Elisabeth Dec 1826, sister Angel ine M. Mar 1850, and brother Samuel Dec 1868 are with them.
In 1910 Buchanan County, Walker is still with sister Mary and brother Samuel. Robert 43 is now with them.
In 1920 Buchanan County, Walker is now married to Katherine D. Frans , 49, but brother Samuel is still with him.
Walker and Katherine are alone in 1930 Buchanan County.
Walker 1860-1936 # 44945675 and Kate 1870-1954 are buried in BUchanan County.
"Kate, Nanie, Matt and John Frans lived together on a farm in Gower. When Nan died, Kate married the neighbor farmer, Walker Guinn.
Herman McClanahan said that when Guinn died Kate went to the cemetery after the burial and said, this is the first time in years I've known where you are for sure! "
