In 1850 Fountain County, Indiana, Mary A. Clawson is 11, daughter of Thomas 44 and Elizabeth 41. Lucinda is 18, Sophia 17, John 15, Litha 9, Elizabeth 7, and Nancy E. 5.
Mary A. Clawson married Jonathan Goble in Indiana in 1856.
"GOBLE, Jonathan born - 03 Sep 1835 enlisted 03 February 1865 - Served as a Private from Indiana. Claimed Residence in Tippecanoe. Enlisted A Co. 150th Inf Reg. IN. Mustered Out at Jordan's Springs, VA on 05 August 1865. Widow, Mary A. Goble, filed for compensation Apr 27, 1915 in Kansas.- Report of the Adjutant General of the State of Indiana, 1865-66. "

In 1870 White County, Indiana, Jonathan is 34, Mary 31, Maria F. 13, Zora Bell 10, Charles W. 9, and Jesse A. four months.
In 1880 White County, Johnathan 44 and Mary A. 38 have Zora B. 18 and John U. 6.
In September 1899, a dead man was found on the premises of Jonathan Goble of Agra (near Phillipsburg). The dead man was John N. Rowe, and the woman with him said "I was in a house of ill fame in Hastings Nebraska, and forme dhis acquantance.. We were married as I thought but later on suspicioned that we were not leagally married... "
In 1890 Mary A. Goble sold some land in Phillips County, Kansas.
John was admitted to the Leavenworth hospital in 1896, discharged in 1909 - he and his wife Mary were both residents of Agra, Kansas.
In 1900 Mary Goble is in Leavenworth, Kansas, born October 1838 in Illinois, living with divorced daughter Belle Fowler, a laundress, January 1872 Indiana - Ethel Sept 1887, Erma Aug 1889, Roy Apr 1891 and Mable Dec 1894 were all born in Kansas.



Jonathan proved up 26 acres in 1, 7S 42W in 1913. And also in Kansas section 7 or 7S 42W in 1913, he proved up 135 acres. So his land straddled the state line.

Jonathan Logan Goble was born in Henry county, Indiana Sept. 3, 1835, and died in Goodland, March 1, 1915. from a paralytic stroke. On Saturday, the 27, he was on the way to Goodland, in the car with his son and grandson, when stricken. When they arrived in town, he was taken to a room at the White kitchen and a doctor called, but nothing could be done and he passed away on Monday.
He was married in 1856 to Miss Mary Clawson, enlisted in the U S Army, Co. A 50th Indiana, and served one year. He has lived for many years on his farm, 8 miles north of Kanorado.

His remains were taken to Kanorado Tuesday forenoon on No. 39. The funeral and burial took place at Kanorado.
He was buried at Kanorado Tuesday, Rev. Ryder officiating and taking as his text 2nd Cor 5:1, "For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in heavens." The bereaved family have the sympathy of the community.

Maria Frances Goble 1857-1973 married James J. Searcy in White County June 27, 1872. He married Mariah F. Donaldson Sept 18, 1876.
One tree said she had Reba Rose Search November 18, 1873 in White County, and died December 12, 1873.
James J. Searcy got a license in 1885 White County with Martha Firth.
Reba married Tillman Howard Thomas, per one tree, and died May 17, 1963 in Lafayette, Indiana.

John and Susie are listed as boarders of a George Hoar.

In 1910 Wallace County, Kansas " Eugene J." Goble, 34, Indiana, married (his second) three years to Pearl L. 21. His son Glenn 12 was born in Kansas.

John Eugene Goble registered for WWI in Goodland, Kansas, living at 1520 Main Street, with Mrs. Pearl Goble. He was born Sept 17, 1873.

The January 1920 US Census shows Susie A. Scott and daughter Lucile living one house from the Halberg family and my Grandmother Lillian who was 20. Susie is 39 and Lucile is 20 and married with the last name of Parcell. Susie is b. Kansas, Father b. Illinois, Mother b. Ohio, Lucile b. Kansas as were her Father and Mother.
In 1920 Goodland, John Eugene is 37, Lida Pearl 30, Charles 7, and Mildred Juanitga 2.

In 1930 John is a well driller in Lawrence, Kansas, widowed, with Raymond 17 and Mildred J. 12.
1933 "John Goble is up in Wallace County this week building school houses for the WaKeeneyites who settle d on school land near Weskan, Kansas."

John is buried in Lawrence, Kansas, #9075477, 1873-1942, - children Raymond Charles 1912-1990, Mildren Juanita Goble Hodge 1917-2013, Jacqueline Grace Goble Chitty 1929-2001, and Norma Jean Goble Thomas 1834 -
Glen J. Goble of Kanorado married Maude Smith of Oberlin, Kansas in Burlington, Colorado March 18, 1915.
Glen D. Goble's mother Susie and her second husband, Charles Scott lived one house away from Olaf and Emma Halberg and their daughter, Lillian in north Denver. Glen D. Goble and Lillian Halberg were the parents of my mother, Geraldine Naomi Halberg b. 1918 in Goodland Kansas, d. 1994

Margie Faye (Hutsler() Goble 1907-1994 Formerly of Schell City, she died in a nursing home in El Dorado Springs, Mo.
She had lived in Kansas City, Adrian and Nevada in Missouri before moving to Schell City in 1967 where she worked at the Nevada (MO) State Hospital until she retired.
She was a member of the Schell City United Methodist Church.
Survivors; four daughters, Jacqueline Grace Chitty, Norma Thomas and Pat Prough of Schell City and Mildred Hodge, Las Vegas; a sister, Fern McMullin, Sedalia, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Contributions in her name requested to Children's Mercy Hospital.

She married George W. Thomas October 15, 1880 in Tippecanoe County, Indiana.

In 1900 Martha Goble is in Leavenworth, Kansas, born October 1838 in Illinois, living with divorced daughter Belle Bowler, a laundress, January 1872 Indiana - Ethel Sept 1887, Erma Aug 1889, Roy Apr 1891 and Mable Dec 1894 were all born in Kansas.
In 1910 Miami County, Kansas, "Clora" Bell Fowler is 38, married fifteen years to Carter, 40, a grain elevator employee.

In 1930 Miami County, James C. Fowler is 61, Clara 58, neither with occupations.
They're in Miami County in 1940, where he's a foreman for the WPA.

In 1910 Wallace County, Kansas, Manley is 49, born in Indiana, widowed, living with Eugene J. Goble, 34, Indiana, married (his second) three years to Pearl L. 21. His son Glenn 12 was born in Kansas.
Manley has had four kids, all living. But she's not in the 1870 census with John and Mary - maybe she's a cousin???
