Jennie Prettyman married John W. Foster in Washington County, Iowa January 8, 1878.
In 1880, John 26, and Jennie 22 have Laura seven months.
In 1885 Harlan County, Nebraska, Charles H. Brown is a sheriff, 46, Julia 50, with Joshua 21 a deputy sheriff and Julie 19, both born in Missouri.
On the same page are Robert and Mary Prettyman, who were in Washington County, Iowa in 1870 , with Jennie 14.

He might be the Joshua Brown in 1880 Harlan County, Nebraska, 16, with parents Charles H. 41 and Julia 50. Sisters Laura 16a nd Almina 14.

"Susan Harrison Hecht’s mother’s father homesteaded in the Bainbridge area N.W. of Huntley in 1872; name Charles H. Brown. Her mother’s twin brother, Joshua A. Brown freighted from Alma to Kearney with oxen. John A. Harrison homesteaded south of Naponee in 1878. The family came on the railroad to its end at Wichita, then across to Phillips County by covered wagon, and a team of horses. Grandma Hecht, Irvin Hecht’s mother, told of a wounded buffalo lying down across the door way and the children couldn’t get in to the house until the men came and got the buffalo away." This AJoshua might be an uncle.

Joshua A. Brown is a county clerk in Harlan County, Nebraska in 1900, born Sept 1861 in Missouri, married Jennie M. in 1888, with Mary born August 1881 in Iowa - a dressmaker.
In 1910 Harlan County, Joshua is 45, Jennie 48, and Marie V. Foster, stepdaughter is 23, born in Iowa. This is Joshua's first marriage, Jennie's second, and she's had three children, two living.

In 1920 Green River, Wyoming, Joshua and Jennie are alone, and he's a clerk in a railroad office.
In 1930 Onondaga County, New York, Joshua is 64, working at a paper mill, with Jennie M. 65. With them are daughter Marie Morgan, 47, her husband Ross M. 56 and their Genevieve 16 and Paul 14, both born in Nebraska.
(The Morgans were in Green River in 1920, too)
Marie 1881-1952 and Ross Morgan are buried in Oswego County, New York # 43312637.


Jane Carol Dichian , daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Dichiao of 2909 Lavin Court, Troy, and Ross N. Morgan Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross N. Morgan of Phoenix, N.Y., were married June 29, 1975, in St. Peter's Armenian Apostolic Church, Watervliet, New York, with Rev. Garen Gdanian officiating. Maid of-honor was Lisa K. Hermanson and bridesmaids were Alice L. Ammian, Rosemary Rivest, cousin of the bride, and Judy Williams, sister of the bridegroom. Rest man was Joseph Lorinl, and ushers were Paul E. Dichian and Andrew Morgan, brothers of the couple, and John Rowland. The reception was held at Michael's Banquet House. After a motor trip to Maine, the couple will live in Bailey's Crossroads, Va. A graduate of Troy High School and Ithaca College, the bride taught music in the Wallkill School District. The bridegroom, a graduate of Phoenix High School and Ithaca College, is a specialist with Pershing's Own Band, stationed at Fort Meyer, Arlington, Virginia."

ROSS NICHOLAS MORGAN, JR. (Age 60)
On September 1, 2013, of Alexandria, Virginia, formerly of Phoenix, New York. Ross was a proud member of the United States Army Band "Pershing's Own," stationed at Ft. Myer, Virginia. He was the unit's first Command Sergeant Major and honorably served as a tubist in the band for 35 years. Survived by his wife Jane, daughters Virginia Nipper (Brandon), Anna and Elizabeth Morgan, mother Kathryn Morgan, sister Judy Williams (Dan), brother Andrew (Vicki), and three nephews, James and Matthew Williams and Jeremy Morgan. A funeral service will take place at the Ft. Myer War Memorial Chapel followed by interment at Arlington National Cemetery which will be held at a later date.
