He might be the John Belz marrying "Shopia" Binde in Atchison Kanas November 10, 1859, by Reverend L.R. Staudenmayer.
In 1860 and 1870 Atchison Kansas, John is a grocer, married to Sophia. In 1880 Atchison, Kansas, a bank cashier, 46, born in Wurtemburg, with Sophia 43 born in Prussia, Emma 9 and Ida 3 both born in Kansas. Frederich Banden , 60 , uncle, was born in Prussia, no occupation.
"JOHN BELZ, cashier of the German Savings Bank, and connected with it since 1873, came to Atchison, June, 1857, and started business as contractor and carpenter, which he continued until 1860. He then opened a grocery store which he kept until 1873, when he became connected with the bank. He was born in Wurtemburg, Germany, August 15, 1833. In December, 1853, he came to America, locating in New York and Iowa prior to coming to Kansas. In 1859, he was married at Atchison, to Sophia D. Binde, a native of Prussia. Their two children are named Emma and Ida. Mr. Bels (sic) is a member of A. F. & A. M. and of I. O. O. F. "

In 1895 Atchison, John is 61, Sophia 58, Emma D. Moore 24, Augustus M. More 33, Thoena five months, and Ida D. Belz 18.
John 1833-1895 is buried in Atchison # 54351058.
In 1900 Atchison, Sophia born June 1836, is widowed, with Ida October 1876, a clerk. Sophia's daughter Emma S. Moore October 1870 has been married eight years, to A. M> Moore, and insurance adjustor born July 1861. They have Helen Dec 1894.
In 1910 Atchison Sophia has widowed daughter Emma Moore, Helen and Eugene with her.
In 1920 Atchison, Sophia is 82, with Emma Moore 48, and her daughter Helen Stein, 25, and her husband Fred Stein 32. Eugene Moore is 13.
Sophia 1836-1921 is buried in Atchison # 54351059.
In 1940 Atchison, Emma Moore is 64, widowed, and Helen is mrried to Frederick Stein, 59 and they hae Frederick 13.

Ida Belz Gray 1876-1972 and Thomas Nicholas Gray 1861-1927 are buried in Atchison, Kansas.
Emma Belz Moore 1870-1942 is buried in Atchison # 54867669.
