In 1880 Labette County, Kanss, Henry Bartell is 40 born in Prussia, Margaret 33 Ohio, with William 11, Francis 10 both bornin Illinois, mary 8, Josei 5, Cora 4 son J.B. 2 all four born in Kansas and Margaret's brother Isaac Howe 19 born in Ohio.
"William Bartell in Colorado Springs, CO is a brother to George Bartell also of Manitou Springs, CO. Their father was Henry who died in OK. Their mother, Margaret Jane Howe Bartel/Bartell (later married twice more and is buried in Boulder CO), called her children Willie and Georgie (others were Josie, Lizzie, etc). I do not have pictures of Henry their father. We have a picture of his gravestone in OK. Margaret Jane and Henry divorced abt 1880."
James Monahan divorced May Monahan in Chaffee County September 2, 1890.
Mrs. Margaret Bartell, age 47, married James A. Monahan, age 60, in Saguache Colorado May 19, 1893.
In 1907 Salida, Colorado, James A. Monahan is a boilermaker for the Rio Grande, l roominat 123 Lower F. Street.
William cash-claimed a quarter in 17, 7S 42W in 1891.

He might be the Wm. H. Bartell in 1900 Colorado Springs, born Augus 1865 Illinois, married one year to Elisabeth Dec 1866 Ohio. Ethel G. was born Feb 1900 in COlorado. Wm. is an assistant state commissioner.
In 1910 Colorado Springs he's a road work superintendent with Lizzie and Gladys.
In 1917 William and Henry C. Loesch, both of Colorado Springs, patented a design for a road drag.
They're in the 1934 and 1938 Colorado Springs directory, at 918 E. Cimmaron.
William 1868-1941 is buried in Colorado Springs # 34400416 William Henry Bartell was born 14 Aug 1868 in IL and died 10 Aug 1941 in Colorado Springs, CO. He was married to Elizabeth Ann Kelly in El Paso Co., CO and had one daughter Ethel Gladys Bartell who married William A Ross. William Henry was the County Commissioner for Colorado Springs for many years before his death. William is the son of Henry Bartell and Margaret Jane Howe Bartell.
Elizabeth Ann (Kelley) Bartell # 13604384 and William are on the same stone as their daughter Gladys B. 1900-1930 and her hsuband William A. Ross 1898-1972.
The daughter's obituary said she was born in La Plata County in February 1900.

Sister Cora 1876-1969 is buried in Salida # 51443655 "Salida Mail 30 Jun 1969 Cora Elizabeth Bartell Jones was the daughter of Henry Bartell and Margaret Jane Howe Bartell. Cora was born in Cherryvale, KS. She was married to Sterling Jones. "
