Ulrich B. "Tholsted" married Eliza Martin in Ogle County, Illinois on November 3, 1858.

In 1870, Edward, 10 is living with parents and 4 brothers in Timber Creek, Jefferson Twp., Marshall County, Iowa. The name is spelled Holsted. "

In 1870 Marshall County, Illinois "Nine-year-old Anna Peas is listed as born in Illinois to parents Joseph & Louisa, born in Germany. Two siblings are listed: Joseph (6 yrs), and William (1 yr). Both born in Illinois. "

In 1880 Marshall County, Iowa, Ulrich Tolstead is farming, 51, born in Oldenburg, Eliza 40 in Canada. Edward is 20, William H. 18, Benjamin F. 14, and Lewis 12 all born in Illionois, Joseph 10, Bertha N. 8, adn Maray A. 4 in Iowa.

Eliza died March 22, 1893, buried in Marshall County # 55076008.

Ulrich was born in Tettina, Germany on July 27, 1828, arriving in the US. in February 1855, was naturalized in Marshalltown Iowa in 1872, and was living in Osawatomie in 1906.

EDWARD

Edward claimed a quarter in 4, 6S 50W in 1891.

Edward, age 33, married Annie M. Starling, 31 on December 8, 1892 in Lancaster County, Nebraska.
"Licensed to wed: Ed Tolstead, 33, and Annie M. Starling, 31, Lincoln were married by Judge Lansing."

Annie Maud Peas was born April 22, 1861 to Joseph Peas and Louisa Schoenfeld, marrying Ausust Bartz, Martin Starling, and Edward Tolstead.

Martin Starling was in Marshall County, Illinois in 1880, age 21, a farm laborer, dying in California in 1925.
He's buried in Los Angeles National 1860-1925 # 3755376.

Anna M. Tolstead married August Bartz on January 12, 1909 in Santa Ana, California.

In 1910, Anne is in Long Beach, 49, born in Pennsylvania, married to August Bartz.
Per one tree, she died May 24, 1913 in Long Beach, California.

Annie dies in Long Beach, California when a Municipal Auditorium collapses.
"Thirty-three persons were killed and 200 injured, some of them seriously, shortly after 11:30 this morning, when the Long - Beach auditorium collapsed, carrying the crowd that was waiting for the doors to open for the Empire Day celebration, down to death and disaster. Fully 300 persons went down In the crash and fell forty feet to the sand. "

In 1920 Jefferson County, Wisconsin, Edward is 63, married but no spouse, lviing with Joh P. 32 and Florence A. Hauser 27 and their two young daughters.

Edward, per one tree, died July 4, 1930 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Dies of heart failure in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Buried in Okmulgee Cemetery in plot owned by brother-inlaw J.H. Everett.

Bernice E. Tolstead, 30, daughter of Edward Tolstead and Anna M. Starling, married Konrad L. Oefinger on July 19, 1930 in Los Angeles.

Bernice dying January 1971 is buried in Anaheim # 118685642.

Ruth Ester Tolstead, born March 15, 1894 in Nebraska, died September 17, 1916 in Aberdeen South Dakota, per one tree.
Edward's stepson Rollin Starling is in Julesburg, Colorado in 1920, a welder, 39, born in Illinois, with Althea M. 34 born in Nebraska. Jessie 14 in Wyoming, Clifford 12 in Wyoming, and Marion 6 in Washington.

Rollin 1881-1965 # 96857628 and Althea M. (Cooper) Starling 1886-1974 are buried in Imperial, Nebraska.
Althea's father is likely Franklin Griffith Cooper 1853-1922 buried in Washington # 5224003, with Mary E. Cooper 1856-1940 buried in Hall COunty, NEbraska # 31815682.

WILLIAM

William cash claimed a quarter in section 9, 6S 50W, also on March 2, 1891.
William also filed for a timber claim in 7S 51W, but it wasn't completed.


William is buried in Marshall County, Iowa, dying January 13, 1892 # 55075916.
