Levi A. and Alvertine Sloan, 6 South 50 West
One tree said Levi was born March 22, 1858 in Ontario, Canada to
Hugh Sloan born July 1828 in Ontario, dying 1904 in Wilber, Nebraska,
and Rocksena Cummins born 1830 in Ontario, dying 1893 in Wilber, Nebraska.
"Hugh Sloan, married Rocksena Cummins, (born to Daniel and Sarah (Rodd) Cummins of Edwardsburgh, Ont., on Febr. 1, 1830) in Ogdensburg, New York on July 4, 1850. Hugh's father was also a John Owen Sloan. (I believe he was born in 1804, but I don't know where.) Hugh and Rocksena had children: Henry: born in New York, Sept. 6, 1851; John Owen; Daniel: Dec. 19, 1855; Lee (or Levi): March 22, 1858; Ellen: May 5, 1860; David: July 21, 1862; Sarah Jane: Aug. 27, 1865; George C.: Apr. 28, 1868; Ida May: March 3, 1870; Emma Sophronia: Oct. 7, 1872. All of the above, except for Henry, were born in Ventner, Ontario. Rocksena: July 3, 1875, was born in Wilber, Saline County, Nebraska, where the family moved."
Findagrave # 119672755 has Hugh dying February 26, 1904, buried in the Wilber Cemetery.
Rocksenee Sloan 1831-1893 is also buried there # 93500686.
In 1900 Norton County, Kanss, Levi is a day laborer, born March 1865
in Canada, married eleven years to Arutius June 1870 in Illinois. John H. Dec 1891 and Dolly March 1894 were born in Nebraska, Jessie I. Feb 1898 and Arctius November 1899 were born in Kansas.
One tree said Alvantine was the daughter of John King, and in 1880 Johnson County, Kansas John is farming, 37 born in New York, Nancy E. 37 Ohio. Alvantine is 9, William 8, Nellie 5 - all three born in Illinois.
Levi claimed a quarter in 3, 6S 50W in 1909.
In 1910 Norton, Kansas, Levi is a teamster for a coal company, 54, with Aloutine 39, John H. 18 is a clerk at a hotel, Nellie 14, Elouise 12, and Arthur 10.
In 1920 Norton, Levi is a laborer on a truck farm, 65, Alouontine 48, John 26 a baker, Dolly 24 and Josephine 22 no occupation, Arthur 20 working on a truck farm.
In 1930 Norton, Levi is 74, doing odd jobs, Alonquine 56, Arthur a livestock dealer.
Levi 1858-1932 is buried in Norton # 49993135, Alvatine 1872-1932 # 49993128.
John H. Sloan 1891-1977 is buried in Norton, # 49993133, with Mary A. 1896-2000.
So is Arthur T. "Dutch" Sloan 1900-1966 # 49993130, with Anna Melissa (Boyd) Sloan 1915-1974. # 49993129.
Dollie probably married Millard Campbell, and they're in Norton in 1930. Millard is 50, Dollie 36, Esther 10, Millard 8, and Lonal Campbell 18.
