James Andrew Nelson 1851-1931 is buried in Cloud County, Kansas # 70587402, with Lucinda Ellen (Brown) Nelson 1857-1933 # 70587452.

In 1900 Hancock County, Illinois, George Ferguson and Viola are both 52, with Anna 25, George 18, Jesse 1o6, Nellie 15, and Leota born October 1886 in Illinois.

George W. Ferguson 1847-1929 is buried in Knox County # 12136558.

Viola (Sparks) Ferguson is buried in Knox County, Missouri 1847-1931 # 12136560.

BEDFORD

Bedford David Nelson, of Newark, Knox County, Missouri, married Leota Ferguson, also of Newark, on November 18, 1908 in Shelby County, Missouri.

In 1910 Kit Carson County, Bedford D. Nelson is farming, 29, born in Missouri, with Leota 23 Illinois. Myrtle -two months old- was born in Colorado.
Bedford claimed two quarters in 10, 6S 50W in 1914.
David Bedford Nelson 1880-1918 is buried in Flagler, # 15793192.


In 1917 W.L. Knies of Flagler is teaching at the Bedford Nelson school district near Seibert.
Leota is widowed in 1920 Kit Carson County, 32, with Myrtle V. 10 and Kenneth W., 8.

In 1930 she's a bookkeeper in an electric company in Barry County, Missouri, married to Horace Stacy 34. His daughters Elizabeth 14 and Geneva 11 were born in Missouri. Myrtle Nelson is 20, Kenneth 18, and Leota's mother Viola Ferguson, 83 is with them.
She's buried in Barry County 1886-1974 "daughter of George and Viola (Sparks) Ferguson" # 7199822.

Myrtle Veola Nelson married Ernest P. Weston on June 7, 1936 in Clay County, Missouri.

She's buried in Barry County 1909-1995 # 120826555.

In 1940 Barry County, Kenneth Nelson is 28, Genoa 26, with Denna and Donna both six months old.

In 1949 Kenneth W. Nelson is a salesman in Wichita, Kansas, married to Genoa G. Nelson.

Kenneth W. Nelson 1911-1959 is also buried in Barry County # 120654619.

HOMER

He might be the Homer Nelson, 17, in Sedgwick County, Kansas in 1905, a laborer for the Wm. F. Rennick family.

Homer is with his parents in 1910 Decatur County, Kansas, 22. Tandy is 24, Lizzie 20, VIrgil 16, Gladys 12, George P. 10, and Nobel 7.

In 1920 Homer is farming in Kit Carson County, 32, with Blanch 24 born in Kansas.

Blanche might be the Blanche Fees in 1915 Decatur County, Kansas, 20, with parents Frank J. 54 and Lucinda 53 Fees. Johnny Fees is 14, and grandmother America Fees is 80.

He married BLANCHE FEES March 18, 1917. She was born March 17, 1894."

They're back in Mitchell County, Kansas in 1930, married 15 years - Homer 42, Blanch 40, Dorene 7 born in Colorado, and Cletus 5 in Kansas.
In 1940 they're in Christian County, Missouri, with Darlene and Clotus.

Homer 1887-1965 is buried in Christian County, Missouri # 100185646, with Blanche 1894-1976 # 100185573. This FindaGrave says Homer's parents are George 1860-1940 and Mary 1866-1944...

"Funeral services for Homer Nelson, 78, Route 1, Clever, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Clever Baptist Church with the Rev. E. L. Brock officiating.   Burial will be in Wise Hill Cemetery under direction of Ayre-Goodwin.  Mr. Nelson died at 10:30 p.m. Monday (22 Nov 1965) in Burge-Protestant Hospital where he had been a patient 12 days."

Wanda Darlene Coffman-Hummel 1923-2009 is buried in Springfield National, # 56877227.


Cletus Eugene Nelson 1925-1993 is buried in Christian County, # 100185780.
He shares a tombstone with Betty Jo 1927-1972.

HARLAND

Anna A. Lear married Harlan H. Nelson on September 15, 1901 in Shelby County, Missouri.

Anna's father William Lear died in 1925, buried in Knox County # 12144148 "Newark, Mo, June 27—William Lear a highly respected citizen of this community died at the age of 80 years. Mr Lear was one of the pioneers of Knox county. He was active in church work, being a member of the Christian church. Besides his aged companion he leaves two children, a daughter, Mrs Harlan Nelson of Colorado and a son, Grover Lear, of Newark."

In 1910 Kit Carson County, Harland is farming, 31, with Annie A. 24 born in Missouri, married eight years. Bruce is 7, born in Missouri, James W. three months old in Colorado.

Harlan claimed a quarter in 5, 6S 50W in 1915.
In 1920 Kit Carson County, Harland is 41, Anna 39, Bruce 17, James W. 10, Mary 8, and Sammie 2.

In 1930 Kit Carson County, Harlan is 51, Anna 49, James 20, Mary 18, and Sammie L. 12.

Harlan is widowed in 1940 Kit Carson County, 61, and James W. is 28.



HARLAN H. NELSON (Source: Nelson- Brown Genealogy by Gladys Nelson Bremer.) was born August 17, 1878 in Knox Co., Missouri, and died March 26, 1942. He married ANNA ARCHIE LEAR September 1901 in Newark, Missouri.
She was born December 03, 1880, and died July 14, 1936"
