One possible - in 1870 New York City, Claus Jensen is 24, Mary 31, both born in NOrway, Thomas newborn in New York City.

One tree said Thomas was the son of Oliver Ulysses Jensen 1838-1879 and Mary Matilta/Matlaid Olsen.

He possibly is the Thomas Sander Jensen baptised in Brooklyn, New York at Our Saviour's Lutheran, born March 4, 1870 to Olaus Jensen and Maria Larsen.

In 1885 Saline County, Kansas, Thomas Jensen is 16, Jules 12, and Anna 8, with Ole Davides 52 a laborer and Mary 48 a house keeper.
Ole was born in Denmark, the other four in New York.

In 1895 Norton County, Kansas, Mrs. Mary Border is 58 born in Norway, coming from Ney York. Thomas Jensen is 26, born in New York.

In 1900 Norton County, Kansas, Thomas born March 1870 in New York, farming. His mother Mary August 1837 in Norway is with him.

Mary Jensen August 17, 1838- January 17, 1907 is buried in Norton # 49689265.

EMMA'S FAMILY

Emma Jane Bailey's parents were Simon Findley Bailey born March 1846 in Crawford County, Pennsylvania and dying Sept 1929 in Benton County, Iowa, and his wife Jane Welliver died about 1890.
Jane M. Bailey, dying September 27, 1890, is buried in Long Island Cemetery, Phillips County, Kansas # 32645751. <


She was in Columbia County, Pennsylvania in 1850, with Russell P. 38, Eliza A. 40, John C. 13, Richard F. 11, MARGARET J. 10, Henderson 7, Andrew C. 5, Winnfield S. 3, and Eliza A. newborn.
She was in Mercer County, Illinois in 1860, with Russell B. Welliver 48, John 23, MARGARET 20, Henderson 15, ANdrew 13, Winfield 11, and Eliza 8.
BUT - Linda advises that this is not the same family. Emma's mother was Jane Welliver whose parents are Jacob Welliver and Jemima Hunter not Russell Welliver and Eliza cool. There are lots of Wellivers and I can find no relationship to the Cool family. "

Russell P. Welliver and Adella J. Dennis had a daughter Blanche Welliver born 1866 in Warren County, Illinois. Blanche married Albert Bruckert Jr. on February 18, 1903 in Park County, Montana.

In 1920 Kit Carson County, Thomas is 56, Emma 46, Leslie 20, Oliver 18, Goldie 16, Orphia 12, Vernon 9, Alma 5, Leon 4, and Letha five months - the last four born in Colorado.

In 1930 Kit Carson County, Thomas is 61, farming. This census has both parents born in Sweden. Emma J. is 51, born in Kansas, both parents born in Wisconsin. Leon is 13, Letha I. 11, and Marion R. 8.
John E. McNellis, 3, grandson, is with them.

In 1940 Kit Carson County, Emma is widowed, 60, working in a lunchroom project, with Marion R. 18.

Vernie was born June 1, 1911 at Flagler to Thomas Jensen and Emma Bailey, dying April 19, 1993.

In 1940 Siebert Precinct, Kit Carson County, Vernie operates equipment for the state highway department, 28, with Clara 27 born in Nebraska. Mamie L. Kyle 25 Nebraska is a school-teacher lodging with them.

Clara might be the Clara W. Kenning in 1920 Cheyenne County, Colorado, 9, with Charles 41 and Katherine 31. Hazel may is 11, Rosa A. 7, and Alice 4.
Charles 1878-1953 # 119374145 and Kathryn (Cusic) Kenning 1888-1957 # 119374065 are buried in Bird City, Kansas.

June 26, 1925 "Fairbury - The funeral of Mrs. Clara O. Cusic of Fairbury was held at 2 p. m. Thursday at the Presbyterian church, Rev. P. A. Davis officiating. The Fairbury Royal Neighbor camp had charge of the services at the grave. Death came to Mrs. Cusic Tuesday after an illness of several weeks following a paralytic stroke. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Alvesta Lemon. Maple Hill, Kansas, Ernest, Illinois; Joe, Endicott. Neb.; Ivan, living in minors; Roy Cusic and Mrs. Charles Kenning, both of Bird City, Kansas. ; .Mrs. Bert Ritchie, Mrs. Vklwln Hoppe and Jim Cusic, all of Fairbury."

Thomas Jefferson Huntzinger and Eliza Jane Greenwood had Ida Irene on January 8, 1902.
Ida Irene Huntzinger married Oliver S. Jensen on April 27, 1924 in Flagler.

Oliver is farming in 1930 Kit Carson County, 27, with Ida I. 28 born in Colorado, Floyd 5, Ruth E. 2, and Gene R. newborn.

In 1940 Oliver is 37, married to Ida I. 38, with Floyd 14, Ruth 12, Gene R. 10, and Thomas E. 7.

" Thomas and Emma had another daughter named Alma Grace. She was born 13 December 1914 in flagler. She married Orie Glen Lammey. They had children: Clifford 1934, Verle 1937, Norman 1939. Alma died Oct 1983 and is buried in Crown hill cemetery in Denver.

1940 "James Edward McNellis, wanted by authorities in Casper, Wyo., on a charge of burglary, was arrested in Deadwood, South Dakota, last night by the sheriff's office and is being held in the county jail pending the arrival of Casper officers. "


James Edward McNellis, born January 10, 1905 in Colorado, died February 18, 1956 in Los Angeles County, mother Gorman.




Aug. 6-7, 1966 "The collision of the chartered Trailways bus and a semi-tractor truck in Marshall, Minn., yesterday killed Pearl McNellis, 35, Saratoga, Wyo., a counselor on the trip, and injured 21 of the 40 persons aboard. Bus driver Harry Wheeler, 31, of Portland, underwent surgery at the Marshall hospital. The young people, from Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Wyoming, were given shelter by a local church following the accident. They were to continue on to their homes by another bus today."
" One person was killed and 21 were injured today when a semi-trailer truck collided with a bus-load of youngsters returning to western states after a trip to the United Nations headquarters. Killed was Pearl McNellis, 35, Saratoga, Wyo., a counselor on the trip, which was sponsored by the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs for youngsters from Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Wyoming. Authorities said Mrs. McNellis' husband, William, was reached in Denver, Colo., where he was enrolling a daughter in college. More than 40 persons were on the chartered Trailways bus when it collided with a South Dakota state truck hauling peat at the intersections of U.S. Highways 14 and 59 about 20 miles south of this southwestern Minnesota community"

Pearl Marie McNellis is buried in Saratoga 1931-1966 # 45695747.

Graveside services for former prominent Saratoga businessman, John Edward McNellis, will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 A.M. January 16, 2010 at the Saratoga Cemetary in Saratoga, Wyoming. A luncheon will follow in the Saratoga Room at the Hotel Wolf at 11.30 A.M. A Chapel service will be held Friday morning at 10:00 A.M. January 15, 2010 at Bustards Funeral Home. He was born an only child to James (Bud) and Goldie McNellis on February 11, 1927 in Denver, Colorado. Mr. McNellis died peacefully at his home surrounded by his daughters and other loved ones. During World War II, he served his country for three years in the United States Navy. He then moved back to Rawlins, Wyoming and married Pearl Pudge on August 31, 1947 at the Presbyterian Church in Saratoga, Wyoming.

They moved to Denver, Colorado where he attended the Barnes Business School. After earning his degree, they moved back to Saratoga where he apprenticed at the Saratoga State Bank under the guidance of Mr. Fred Healy. He became President-Owner of the bank on August 6, 1956. After many years, he sold the bank and continued doing business at his Platte Valley Real Estate and Insurance Company until he retired. He became a snow bird living half the year in Arizona and half the year in Wyoming. He was actively involved in the community. He was instrumental in getting the Saratoga Swimming Pool in place, the Sandy Beach Ski Area at the Saratoga Lake, and took an active roll in the Ryan Park Ski Area. There wasn't a weekend he went skiing that he didn't have a full vehicle of kids he hauled to the mountain and back. He belonged to several clubs such as Shriners, The Saratoga Lions Club, Masons, Elks, American Legion, Odd Fellows, served as Protem Mayor for a short time, and was a member of the Saratoga Town Council. His hobbies included bowling, water and snow skiing, golf, camping out and taking Jeep rides thru the mountains, playing cards, watching a good baseball game, but most especially spending time with his family and friends. He very much enjoyed his annual trips to Yellowstone National Park to watch the wildlife and enjoy the peaceful sceneries.

He is survived by his four daughters: Linda (Eddie) Steelman of Billings, Montana, Karen Brinkman of Sheridan, Wyoming, Teddy (Bob) Ladmirault of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Paula (Paul) Dahlke of Casper, Wyoming. He has eleven grandchildren and twenty- seven great grandchildren that he very much loved and enjoyed.

LESLIE

Leslie Frank Jensen married Viola Gertie Johnson on October 10, 1921 in Lincoln County, Colorado.

In 1930 Leslie F. 30 and Viola G. 24 are in Bird City Kansas, where he's a farm laborer. Dorothy A. is 6, Delmer E. 5, and Earl L. 2, all three born in Colorado.

In 1940 Canyon County, Idaho, Leslie is a foreman for a weed control department, 40, with Viola 34, Dorotha 17, Delmer 15, Earl 13, Everett 9 born in Kansas, Barbara 7 in Colorado, and Robert six months old born in Idaho.

Leslie is buried in Caldwell 1899-1975 # 105611728, with Viola G. 1905-1980 # 105611525.


Earth lost its most gentle, patient man on November 19, 2016, having passed away at a local care center in Nampa. He was born January 25, 1927 in Flagler, CO, the son of Leslie F. and Viola G. (Johnson) Jensen.
The family moved to Caldwell when Earl was a young boy. He left Caldwell High School to join the Army in 1945. He served his country in the Philippines and in Japan. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant and returned to graduate from Caldwell High in 1947. He met his wife, Helen Bridge while they were both working for Dobbs Motor Co. in Nampa. Earl went on to work for several auto dealerships as a parts department manager. He also enjoyed running the after hours wrecker service for Edmark Chevrolet. For years after his retirement, valley residents told him they missed dealing with him because he never wasted their time by selling them an incorrect part. He knew parts numbers by memory. He served the city of Nampa as an auxiliary policeman. He also served in several capacities at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene as well, including church board member, usher and church treasurer. He was our dad, and we loved him.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Helen; his parents, two sisters, Dorothy and Barbara and two brothers, Stanley and Delmar. He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Rob) Jamison of Nampa, son, David (Cheryl) of Boise; 3 grandchildren, Lindsay (Josh) Pepperd of Anchorage; Chris Jamison of Chicago; Brittany (Daniel) Jamison-Lackey of Brighton, England and 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers Everett (Betty) Jensen of Caldwell and Robert (Evelyn) Jensen of Camas, Washington and a sister, Patricia (Jim) Sturgis of Meridian and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank caregivers Stephanie Staats, Billie Hammond and Monique Allen.
A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 2 PM on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, 608 14 th Ave. No in Nampa with military honors by personnel from the Idaho Army National Guard. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Chapel, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12 th Ave. So. – 442"

Dale Jensen, born August 19, 1938 in Gooding Idaho, married Janine Duncan of Blackfoot Idaho,born March 11, 1942, born in Price, Utah, on July 26, 1962 in Minidoka County, Idaho.

Robert Dale Jensen 1938-2007 died in Benton, Washington, per # 41308981.

On Friday, May 5, 2017 Everett "Hap" F. Jensen passed at his beloved home. He left this world with dignity, grace and knowing he was loved by his family and many friends.
Hap was born July 22, 1930 in Bird City, Kansas to Lesley and Viola Jensen.
He joined the service in 1949 and began his tour of duty in 1951 (Korean War). After his discharge he immediately enlisted in the Idaho Air National Guard which he served faithfully for 40 years. He retired in 1990 with the rank of Master Sargent. During this time he began his life long career with Mountain Bell Telephone & Telegraph Company. He fulfilled many conversations in southern Idaho and the Boise area. He retired after 43 years as central office tech at the Caldwell.
He married the love of his life Betty J. Luster in 1951, and had 65 great years together before his passing. During this incredible time two daughters, Patricia Y, Kareen D. and son Randall S. were born to them.
Hap is survived by his wife, daughters, son and his wife Trinette, 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sister Patrisia A. (Jim) Sturgis; brother Robert (Evelyn) Jensen; brother-in-law Walter Sturgis, sister & brother-in-law Carol & Terry Johnson, Marlene & Joe Jepko and Helen Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Reed and Sylvia Luster, sisters Dorothy and Barbara and brothers Stanley, Delmer, and Earl.
As per Hap's wishes, cremation was under the care of Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, and no further services are planned at this time.

LEON

Leon Jensen married Mary Spargo on July 6, 1936, recorded in Denver.

In 1940 Colorado Springs, Leon Albert Jensen is a hospital orderly, 23, with Mary 20 a maid in the hospital. They have Marilyn 3. Living with them is a dishwasher, Edgar J. Merren, 21 born in Nebraska. Edgar was in Kit Carson County in 1935.

Leon is buried in Crown Hill, Jefferson County # 96272859.
LEON ALBERT "TAG" JENSEN, 75, of Colorado Springs died June 10, 1992, at a local hospital. He was a machinist.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Swan-Law Funeral Home Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Ave. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Leonard Wecks officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Crown Hill Cemetery, Wheat Ridge. Swan-Law is handling arrangements.
Mr. Jensen was born Dec. 13, 1916, in Flagler to Thomas S. and Emma J. (Bailey) Jensen.
He had lived in Colorado Springs since 1937 and was the first president and a past member of Elks Lodge 309.
Mr. Jensen was married July 6, 1936, in Littleton to Mary Helen Spargo, who survives.
He also is survived by two daughters, Marilyn K. Schwartz of Aurora and Beverly Opperman of Connellsville, Pa.; three brothers, Oliver of Flagler, Vernie of Aurora and Marion of Colorado Springs; three sisters, Orpha Goodrich of Flagler, Goldie McNellis of Burlington and Letha Sharp of Peyton; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.


Mary Helen Jensen died on August 27, 2012. She was born in Newton, Iowa on July 15, 1919. Mary Helen grew up in Siebert, Colorado. After marrying, she and her husband Leon "Tag" moved to Colorado Springs. Mary Helen worked at the El Paso Associates and the Air Force Academy before retiring. She was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Lower Skyway Bible Study class. Mary Helen was an avid gardener and belonged to the Elmohr Iris Society and the Colorado Springs Daylily Society. She was preceded in death by her husband Leon and a sister Alice Sutton. She is survived by two daughters, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a sister and a brother,plus many nieces and nephews."

MARION


Marion R. "Shan" Jensen, age 84, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1985 and previously of Evergreen, Colorado, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2005 at the Aspen Living Center in Colorado Springs. He was a retired District Road Supervisor for Jefferson County District 3.
Marion Russell Jensen was born on October 29, 1921 in Flagler, CO. to Thomas S. and Emma J. (Bailey) Jensen. He attended schools in Flagler and served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. He married Dora Mattics on May 9, 1942 in Goodland, Kansas.
Mrs. Jensen survives and lives in Colorado Springs. Also surviving are his son, Sid (wife, Aida) Jensen SMSGT U.S. Air Force, Retired, of Colorado Springs; and his sister, Leatha Sharp.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2005 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11 at Soldiers Memorial Chapel on Fort Carson Army Base. Cremation is planned"

She might be the Letha I. Jensen in 1942 living at 131 E. Navajo, Colorado Springs.
In 1963 Robert L. (Letha I.) is a carpenter, living at 920 Sunset in Colorado Springs.

March 1971 "Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lewis Sharp, 920 Susset Road, announce the engagement of their daughter, Rosemary Elaine, to Spec. 4C Ronnie K. Dobbs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe H. Dobbs of Peyton. Miss Sharp will graduate from Mitchell High School this spring. Specialist Dobbs attended Mit cheli High School and is now serving in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. No date has yet been set for the wedding.
December 1971 "Elaine Sharp and Ronnie K. Dobbs were united in marriage in an evening ceremony performed Nov. 20 by the Rev. Dan Adams at the Faith United Presbyterian Church. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lewis Sharp and Mr. and Mrs. Joe H. Dobbs, Peyton.

JOSIE H. DOBBS, 69, of Falcon died Sunday July 1990 at his home. He had been a sheet metal worker and rancher.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Fuller officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Dobbs was born Sept. 7, 1920, in Barrier, Ky., to Isaac and Ethel (Alexander) Dobbs. He had lived in the Pikes Peak region since 1949. Mr. Dobbs served in the Army from Oct. 6, 1942, until Sept.1, 1946, and received the Good Conduct medal and two Bronze battle stars. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans Zebulon Pike Chapter 1.
He was married Jan. 23, 1945, in Monticello, Ky., to Grace Rigney, who survives.
Mr. Dobbs also is survived by a son, Ronnie of Florissant; two daughters, Margaret Davis of Hillside and Debra Davis of Falcon; a sister, Mary Rigney of Colorado Springs; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
His daughter, Dannie Babcock, is deceased.

Letha Iona Sharp died May 18, 2009, in Colorado Springs. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 21, at Swan-Law Funeral Directors. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 22, at Faith Presbyterian Church, 1529 N. Circle Dr., Colorado Springs.
Letha Iona Sharp March 17, 1919-May 18, 2009 is buried in Colorado Springs # 97052167, with Robert Lewis Sharp 1919-1992, # 35149936.
