"Quinton Wescott died at his residence east of Kanona, of pneumonia, on Sunday, May 17, aged 63 years, 1 month and 7 days. The funeral was held in the school house at Kanona on Monday May 18, at two o'clock p. m., Rev. W. K. Loofburrow, of Atwood, conducting the service. There was a large attendance at the funeral. The burial took place at the Kanona cemetery. Mr. Wescott was born in Crawford county, Pennsylvania, April 10, 1840. He was married in Bureau county, Illinois, in 1861 , to Miss Mary Park. Of this marriage four children were born, three of whom, Will and John Wescott and Mrs. Lydia Keim, are living and reside near Kanona. Mrs. Wescott, who is blind, survives her husband. Mr. Wescott united with the M. E. church in 1872. Mr. Wescott and family moved to Decatur county in 1900. Mr. Wescott was an old soldier, having served in company C, of 93 Illinois Infantry three years. He was a man of worth in the community, and was highly regarded by all. He had never been ill in his life until the sickness that took away his life. The bereaved family have the earnest sympathy of a large circle of friends. "

JOHN

John was born January 9, 1869 at Quincy, Illinois.

In 1940 Amarillo, John F. is 72, living with nephew "Irl" on North Tyler Street in Amarillo, Texas.
John died in Amarillo, Texas, living at 1616 Johnson, on January 31, 1948, informant his sister-in-law Mrs. O.E. Westcoat. He was to be buried in Llano cemetery, Amarillo. FindaGrave # 19547564.


WILLIAM

In 1870 Lawrence County, Indiana, A. J. Hennon is farming, 28, with Alice 25, both born in Ohio. Georgeis 4, Olive C. 1, and Sarah two months old.

Andrew J. Hennon is buried in Smith County, Kansas # 146334488 "Mr. Andrew J. Hennon was born in Muskingum county, Iowa, March 28, 1842. He moved to Martin county, Indiana, in 1864, and was married to Miss Alice Danford in 1865. They lived for a while in Iowa and Arkansas before coming to Smith county, where he died at Athol, July 25, 1908, aged 66 years.
There were five children born to Mr. and Mrs. Hennon. Of these Mrs. Sadie Carson, whose daughter Bernice has made her home with them, and Belva, the youngest, have gone to the better land. George, of Courtland, and Arley, of Kensington, the two sons, and Mrs. Ollie Wescoat, of Colorado, the daughter, were constantly at his bedside during his last days, doing everything possible to relieve and comfort him."

Alice Jane (Danford)(Hennon) Parks is buried in Smith County, Kansas # 159972456
"Alice Jane Danford was born April 30, 1845 in Zanesville, Ohio and passed away March 3, 1932 at her home in Hastings, Nebraska, aged 86 years, 10 months, and 3 days.
She was married April 13, 1865 to Andrew J. Hennon in Martin County, Indiana. They came to Athol, Kansas in 1880. To this union were born five children: two boys, George G. of Netawaka, Kansas and Arley C. of Kensington, Kansas; and three daughters, Mrs. Allie Wescott of Amarillo, Texas, Mrs. Sadie Carson and Beloa, the youngest, who both preceded their mother in death. Her husband, Mr. Hennon, died July 23, 1908.
Four years later, on August 20, 1912, she was married to George S. Parks of Hastings, Nebraska. She was a kind and true companion in her home and a friend to all who knew her.
She is survived by the three children as mentioned above, 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, her husband Mr. Parks, who is 92 years old, and his two sons."

Gladys and Clyde C. live at 1816 Johnson, wehere Gladsy has a beauth shop.

Mrs. Nell U. Wescoat works for a potato chip company, living at 1508 Johnson. W. J. is a fireman, living at 1117 Trigg.
William Henry Wescoat 1866-1928 # 19391671 and Olive Clara Wescoat 1868-1955 # 19391634 are buried in Amarillo, Texas.
William died February 9, 1928 of heart failure.

Myrtle Annice LaRue, born June 13, 1910 in Kansas to W. "O." Wescoat and Olive C. Hennon, living at 4057 Rose Drive in Amarillo, died December 2, 1976 in Amarillo, to be buried in Llano Cemetery.
"Myrtle Annice LaRue, 66, of 4057 Rose Drive, died yesterday. Mrs. LaRue was a native of Kansas three brothers, Elza and Earl Wescoat, both of Amarillo, and J.C. Wescoat of Panhandle; four sisters, Mrs. Allie Harmon of Loveland, Colo., Mrs. Flora Cappell, Mrs. Lula Mackey and Mrs. Mildred Rosson, all of Amarillo; and four grandchildren.

Myrtle 1910-1976 is buried in Llano Cemetery, # 19854090.

Edward Larue 1934-2010 is buried in Denton County, Texas # 48758118 "
"Mr. LaRue was born May 21, 1934, to Stephen and Myrtle LaRue in Amarillo. He was a 1952 graduate of Amarillo High School and attended Amarillo College. He began his career as a civil engineer but was eventually drawn to fiscal operations at several federal agencies including the Office of Economic Opportunity and the Bureau of ATF. He ended his 40-year career as the financial Officer for the U.S. Customs Service, retiring in 1995. He was dedicated to the game of football and spent many years as a referee for high school and college games around the state. Edward was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and playing golf. He will be deeply missed. Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon LaRue, on June 26, 2007. Survivors: Children, Rene LaRue and husband, Michael Willis, of San Pedro, Calif., Sheri LaRue of Trophy Club and Douglas LaRue and wife, Laure Rojo-LaRue, of Austin; grandchildren, Michelle LaRue Willis of San Pedro, Austin Joe Willis of San Pedro, Dillon Stephen LaRue of Trophy Club and Anthony Joseph Meyer of Richardson; brother, Donald Ray LaRue Sr. and wife, Dottie, of McKinney; and nephew, Donald Ray LaRue Jr. of McKinney."

December 31, 1976 Amarillo "Elza G. Wescoat, 84, of 1506 S. Johnson, died yesterday. Services are pending with Schooler- Gordon Funeral Directors. A native of Athol, Kan., Mr. Wescoat was an Amarillo resident for 50 years. He was a veteran of World War I. He was an independent trucker. Survivors include the widow Nell; a son, W..I. of Amarillo; four sisters, Mrs. Alice Harmon of Lovelahd, Colo., and Mrs. Flora Capell, Mrs. Lula Mackey and Mrs. Mildred Rosson, all of Amarillo; two brothers, Johnny of Panhandle and Earl of Amarillo; three grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. "


Johnny Clarence Wescoat is buried in Panhandle Texas # 54338017.
" Johnny Clarence Wescoat, 85, died February 1984. Mr. Wescoat had lived in Panhandle since 1944. He was born at Decatur, Kans. He was a past member of the Liberty School Board. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are his wife, Della; a daughter, Mrs. Reba Hood of Panhandle; three sisters, Flora Capell, Lula Mackey, and Mildred Rossen, all of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren."

In 1910 Asa "Hannon" is 27, born in Missouri, married on year to Alice, 18, with Archie seven months old.

Alice M. Harmon is 38 in 1930 Kit Carson County, married to Ace M. 48 Missouri. They have Archie L. 20, Bernice P. 17, Clyde W. 14, all kids born in Colorado.
Asa Madison Harmon 1882-1958 is buried in Loveland, # 31084681, and so is Alice M. Harmon 1891-1983 # 31084674.
Bernice Pearl (Harmon) McBlair 1913-2001 # 152504318 is buried in Fort Collins.
"Bernice was born in a sod house in Eastern Colorado on March 3, 1913, to Asa Madison Harmon and Alice Matilda Wescoat Harmon. Her family owned a wheat farm that was homesteaded by her parents near Seibert, Colorado. Bernice attended school, eventually graduating from the School Teachers College in Greeley, Colorado. She taught in three one-room schools near Seibert: Harmony, Vanderkoy, and Pleasant Valley. Bernice also worked as a Head Baker at Johnson's Corner. Bernice lived on the homestead until she was married to Howard McBlair in December of 1936. They moved to Loveland in 1948. They had a wonderful life together until he passed away in 1967. "

Clyde W. Harmon, 21 married Lois L. Johnston on December 22, 1937, recorded in Yuma County.
Lois was born July 28, 1917 in Decatur County, Kansas to Marvin Johnston and Ada Wilson,.
They're in Decatur County in 1920, and in 1930 are in Cheyenne County, Colorado, Marvin 41, Ada 38, Lowell 14, Lois 12, Marion 9, Ruby 8, and Carrol 1.

"Lois L. (Johnston) Seifert, 78, of Loveland [CO] died Aug. 5, [1995] in her home.
She was born, July 28, 1917, near Selden, Kan., to Marvin and Ada [Wilson] Johnston.
She married John V. Seifert Aug. 7, 1965 in Colorado Springs. Before that she was married to Clyde William Harmon, who died Sept. 17, 1959.
Mrs. Seifert moved to Loveland in 1951 from Seibert, CO.
She worked as a care giver in a Loveland nursing home for 13 years. She was a member of the Masonville Buckhorn Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, John V. Seifert, Loveland; three sons, Clyde C. Harmon and Moneta of Loveland, Ervin W. Harmon, and wife Arlene of Colorado Springs, Rick C. Harmon of San Diego, Calif.; four brothers, Keith Johnston of Lubbock, Texas, Kenneth Johnston and wife Clara of Cope, Carrol Johnston of Burlington, Marion Johnston of Burlington; a sister, Ruby Scott and husband of Buhl, Idaho; two sisters-in-law, Bernice McBlair of Masonville and Alma Belle Harmon of Burlington; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Loveland Burial Park."
