Peter and Drusilla (Scheidegger) Rasmussen, 6 South 49 West
Peter was born in Hortens, Denmark, and came to Cope, Colorado,
cash-claiming a quarter in 2, 3S 51W in 1891 - this would be north of Cope.
In 1892 he proved up a quarter in 11, 5S 49W near Cope, helping Jonathan Cope plant trees in the Cope Grove.
In 1901 Peter timber-claimed a quarter in 12, 5S 49W.

Nicholas 52 and Anna 47, both born in Switzerland. Samuel 15, John 12, Ruella 12,

WILLARD
Willard Rasmussen, 32, married Ruth Mohon on November 29, 1928 in Kim, Baca County, Colorado. She was born October 7, 1912 in Portland Oregon to Jessie C. Mahon and Ellie C. Wingo.
In 1920 Las Animas County, Jessie C. Mohon is farming, 41, born in Texas, with Ellie C. 31 Georgia. Calvin is 14, Ida 11, both born in Texas, Alice R. 7 in Oregon, and Mildred 3 in Texas.

VERENA

"Rosalie Jane (Falconer) Osterkamp, 83, of Pierre, passed away September 18, 2014 at Golden Living Center. Visitation and a prayer service were held Monday, September 21, at Fiegum Funeral Home. Funeral services were Tuesday, September 22, at First Baptist Church with interment following at Riverside Cemetery.
Rosalie was born on March 12, 1931 in Limon, Colorado, to John and Verena (Rasmussen) Falconer. Her father was an American Baptist pastor and their family lived in Douglas, Wyoming, Kansas City, Kansas and Pierre, South Dakota, where she graduated from high school.
On December 19, 1949, she married Earl Osterkamp in Aberdeen, South Dakota. They were a committed team in life and work, actively involved in farming and ranching on both a small and large scale. Their family included four children; daughter, Jan Aden, Lincoln, Nebraska and sons Nick (Renee), Carl (Deb) and Steve (Karla Bridger), all of Pierre. She was a proud grandmother of four and great-grandmother of five. After high school and her marriage, she focused her time and energy on her family and farm activities. Later, she worked for the Department of Transportation in Right-of-Way; Hughes County Superintendent of Schools and the SD Department of Vocational Education. After she and Earl moved to Pierre in 1977, she worked for twenty years for the Department of Criminal Investigation as a fingerprint analyst and St. Mary’s Hospital as a medical transcriptionist. Rosalie retired from her "day job" at DCI at age 75 and continued working at the hospital until experiencing a stroke.
In addition to her children, she leaves behind five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Her sister, Elizabeth (Jack) Peterson, also survives her. Rosalie’s husband, parents, infant sister, Audrey, and infant grandson, Steven James, preceded her in death."
TINA
Christine Ryan passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 1980, in the Lincoln Community Nursing Home in Hugo, at the age of 80 years and nine months.
She was born Nov. 6, 1899 to Peter and Druscilla Rasmussen, in Cope, Colo.
She grew up on a farm north of Seibert. On Oct. 1, 1927 she was united in
marriage to Joseph E. Ryan, in Buena Vista. The next two years were spent
in mining camps. After a short time in Wiley they moved to Limon, 1929,
where they lived until 1975, when they retired and moved to Hugo.
Joe and Tina had no children of their own, but, in 1948,
they took their two nieces, Carol and Mildred Rasmussen,
into their home when their mother died, raising them as their own.
She is survived by her husband, Joe; their two foster daughters,
Carol Schoening of Hugo and Mildred Davis of Riverton, Wyo.,
and their families; three brothers: Willard Rasmussen of Las Animas,
George Rasmussen of Vona, and Jack Rasmussen of Diamond Springs, Calif.;
one sister, Verena Falconer of Lincoln, Neb., and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Tina is buried in Limon # 78083929.
GEORGE
In 1930 George 23 and Jack E. 20 are living with sister Meta K. Sharp 25
in Idaho Springs. Meta 25 and Ben H. Sharp 36 have Loretta L. 2 and Robert H. 1.
George 1906-1980 is buried in Vona # 89353275.
Mildred Rasmussen 1916-1948 is buried in Vona # 89353358.
ANDREW
In 1940 El Dorado County, California, Andrew J. is a laborer in a box factory, 30, born in Colorado, married to June 23 born in Utah.
June Ivers Rasmussen, born June 15, 1916 in Utah to James Ivers and
Ivy Griffin, died October 4, 1999 in Diamond Springs, California.
"Ralph Edmund Rasmussen Sr., a resident of Barstow CA for 65 years, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on Monday, November 18, 2013 at the age of 91. He was born on January 24, 1922 in Stratton, Colorado to Julius and Annie (Andersen) Rasmussen. Ralph attended an one-room grade school in Stratton, from which he graduated the eighth grade. He went on to work with his dad on the farm breaking horses. He served in the US Army during WWII as PFC driving an ambulance. On June 13, 1949, he married Roberta Ann Velasquez. Together, they raised eight children. They enjoyed traveling together to family reunions; spending time with family. He was a Labor Foreman at Santa Fe Railroad Diesel Shop where he worked for 34 years. He made lifelong friendships with many co-workers. Some of Ralph's accomplishments were helping build St Joseph's Catholic School, coaching city league Softball and volunteered for bingo at the church. His special interests and hobbies included raising a family, watching his LA Dodgers, playing Super Lotto and spending Sunday nights playing poker with family. Ralph is preceded in death by his daughter Kathy. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Ruby; children, Joyce (Caleb) Gibson, David Neal, Cindy (Larry) Webster, Ralph Jr. (Juana), Glen (Elsie), Patty, Mark (Ruben), and Chris (Angelica); brother Bud (Val); 24 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grand- children; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and Godchildren. The rosary and visitation will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 505 East Mt. View St., Barstow on Monday, November 25, 2013 from 9:30am until the time of service. Funeral services will be at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memorial Park, Barstow."
