Charles Pharon Burks was born in Parke County to James R. Burk and Mary M. Livengood,
dying May 26, 1945 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, to be buried in the Lutheran cfemetery in wallace, Indiana.

"Charles P. Burks, age 68, a resident of the Waynetown and Wallace communities for many years, died at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville at three o'clock Saturday morning after having been seriously ill there for two weeks.
Mr. Burks was born November 22, 1876, in Parke county, the son of James R.
and Mary Livengood Burks. He was married in June 1903, to Christena Gooding, of Wallace, who preceded him in death. Mr. Burks was a member of the Waynetown Methodist church.
Five daughters survive - Mrs. Gordon Miles, New Richmond; Mrs. Chester Harper, Crawfordsville; Mrs. Herbert Norman, Yeddo; Mrs. Joe Bell, Newtown, and Mrs. Eugene Baker of Wallace. There are also eleven grandchildren surviving and a sister, Mrs. Elijah Hallett, of Waynetown.
The body will remain at the Grenard and Servies funeral home in Waynetown where the funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in charge of Rev. Guy E. Tremaine. Burial will be made at the Lutheran cemetery of Wallace. "

September 5, 1906 Aspen "Emery Adams and Miss Mary Burks were married yesterday afternoon at 4
o'clock by Judge Sanders, at the home of the bride's parents, 211 West Hyman,
the ceremony being performed in the presence of only relatives and intimate friends.
This Mary Burks is too young, born 1888. Emery and Mary had Goldie Marie Adams in 1907 in Aspen.
