Jacob and Bertha (Keller) Birkinbine, 6 South 49 West
Jacob was born July 13, 1881 at Kinross, Iowa.
In 1880 Keokuk County, Iowa, J. Birkenbine is farming, 58, born in Ohio, with Sophia 44 Indiana. Emma is 19, Verna J. 17, Kate 15, Minie B. 12, Frank 8, George E. 3, and Jacob A. 1.
Sophia died in 1914, age 77, buried in Keokuk County, # 27871781.
John died January 4, 1900, age 70, buried in Keokuk County # 27871792.
Sarah - Jacob's sister -
1865-1914 married Harrison Ellswort Holmes. She was born July 3, 1866 in Indiana,
dying January 24, 1914 in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, to be buried in Keota, Iowa # 102267043.
"Hazel E. Holmes, 77, of Sioux Rapids, formerly of Keokuk county, died April 29, 1979, at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
She was born March 25, 1902, in Keokuk county, a daughter of Harrison E. and Sarah BIRKINBINE HOLMES. She was a secretary in the Civil Service a number of years.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Audie RUSBULT of Sigourney and Mrs. Carl (Ruby) PHIPPS of Spirit Lake; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Harley, Ora, J. L., Mike and Clifford; and three sisters, Minnie OSMUNDSON, Mary Arlene and Florence KEISER.
Graveside services will be held at the Keota cemetery at a later date. "

Elnora married Charles Oliver Scott on February 21, 1883 in Keokuk County, buried in Keokuk County
1860-1948, # 113926246 with Charles 1856-1920.
Brother Frank was born 1872, married Anna Derstler on February 14, 1901 in Madison County, Indiana.
Jacob was a day laborer in 1900 Madison County, Indiana, living wtih a Cripe family.
In 1880 Madison County, Indiana, Catherine Keller is 60, with Nancy 23, William 27 married to Laura M. 22, and grndchild Bertha one month.
Bertha is a seamstress in 1900 Indianapolis, 21, with her mother Laur Ronaan and her husband Michael Ronan, both 38.
Jake married Bertha Keller on October 2, 1905 in Marion County, Indiana.
In 1910 Kit Carson County, Jacob is farming, 32, born in Iowa, married five years to Bertha 29 born in Indiana.
Paul Birkinbine Bussell was born January 20, 1911 in Colorado to Jacob Birkinbine and Bertha Ronan, marrying Verna L. Finley on July 3, 1936 in Martinsville, Indiana.
Thelma was born June 12, 1912 in Indiana to J.A. and Bertha Zeller, dying December 5, 1958 in Indianapolis.
Jacob proved up two quarters in section 34, 6S 49W in 1913, on in April, the other in August.
Jacob Alvin Birkinbine registered for WWI in St. Louis, born July 13, 1878, an iron worker, with Bertha living at 4249 North Evans in St. Louis.
They're in St. Louis in 1920, with Jacob 45 born in Pennsylvania? Bertha 37 Missouri, Paul 9, Missouri, and Thelma 7 Missouri.
In 1930 St. Louis, Jacob is now married
to Mabel 48 born in Illinois, with her sons
William Robinson 17 and James 16, both born in Missouri.
Jacob is buried in Afton, Missouri 1878-1972 # 129629198,
with Mabel L. 1887-1977.
Mabel might be the daughter of James R. McClay 1860-1932 buried in Washington County, Illinois, # 177582483, with Sarah J. 1866-1964.
Her first husband William Robinson died in November 1924, buried in St. Louis.
Mabel's son William A. Robinson 1912-1996 is buried in Afton 3 129632026.
James Robinson, born Dec 6, 1913, died October 18, 1974, buried at Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis 3 115190647.
Bertha is in Indianapolis in 1930, widowed, 50, with Paul W. 19.
She's living alone in 1940 Indianapolis.
March 7, 1938 Muncie, Indiana Bertha's mother died
"Funeral services for Mrs. Matilda Lauran Ronan, 75,
wife of Michael Ronan. of Indianapolis, formerly of near
Elwood, who died at her home Saturday morning, will be
conducted at 10 a. m. Tuesday at the Harry Moore funeral home
in Indianapolis. The funeral party will then proceed to
Frankton where another service will be conducted at 1:30
p. m. followed by - burial in the Frankton Cemetery.
Edgar M. Clark, local funeral director, will have charge.
Surviving besides the husband are two children,
Mrs. Bertha Birkinbine, Indianapolis and John Keller,
of Dixon, Illinois; and one brother, Benjamin Wallace,
of Indianapolis. There are also seven grandchildren."
December 7, 1958 "Funeral services for Mrs.
Thelma F. Bussell, 46 years old, 5018 East Minnesota Street,
will be held at 10:30 a m, Monday in Robert W. Stirling Funeral
Home. Burial will be at Frankton, Ind. Mrs. Bussell died Friday
in Community Hospital after an illness of about seven weeks.
She was dental assistant to Dr. William E. Barb for seven
years before her illness. Born in Colorado, she had been
an Indianapolis resident about 40 years. She was a member
of Prospect Chapter No. 452, Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include the husband. Roland Bussell; a daughter,
Miss Nancy J. Bussell of Indianapolis; a son,
Pvt. Ronald R. Bussell, with the U.S. Army at Camp Chaffee,
Ark.; her mother, Mrs. Bertha Birkinbine of Indianapolis,
and a brother, William P. Birkinbine of Kansas City, Kan."
William P. Birkinbine 1911-1976 # 156687513 is buried in Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City.
November 22, 1976 "William P. Birkinbine, 65, of 3523 N. 51st
, Kansas City, Kansas, died Saturday at the family cabin in Laurie,
Mo. He was born in Seibert, Colo., and had lived in this area
40 years. Mr. Birkinbine was a line foreman for Trans World
Airlines 34 years before he retired in 1973. He leaves his wife,
Mrs. Delores M. Birkinbine of the home, and a son,
Bruce Alan Birkinbine, and two daughters, Mrs. Paulett Appling
and Mrs. Patricia Ann Rodkey, ail of Kansas City, Kansas,
and three grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m.
Tuesday at the Butler 18th Street Chapel;
burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Friends may call
from 5 to 9 o'clock tonight at the chapel."
