Mason L. Sweasey, mother Nancy L. (Welch) Sweasey, 6 South 48 West
Nancy Levina Welch, born about 1834, married William H. Sweasey in Illinois in 1859.
In 1860 McDonough County, Illinois, William and Nancy Sweazy are both 25, with Mary six months old.
In 1870 McDonough County, Illinois, William "Swezy" is farming, 36, with Nancy L. 35. Mason L. is 11, James B. eight months old."
In 1880 Seward County, Nebraska, William Sweasey is
farming, 46, with Nancy 45, both born in Kentucky. Mason is 18, James 10, and Thomas 8, all born in Illinoois.
Mason claimed two quarters in 28, 6 South, 48W in 1891. A month later Garmer P. Shaffer claimed a quarter next to him.
Nancy claimed a quarter in 21, also in 1891. On the same day Alice L. Brownlee claimed a quarter next to her.
In 1900 Nancy is back in Seward County, born October 1834 in Kentucky, married five years
In 1910 Seward County, Nancy is 76, living with
son Thomas 38 born in Illinois. He's married to Jennie 331 born in Illinois. They have Helen 5, Norval T. eleven months.

Mason L. Sweasey is an Illinois boy that found the trail leading to Seward County when
fourteen years old. With the parents he lived on a farm two miles
south of Milford. The farm was the old homestead of Rev. T. M.
Skinner. Mason was born in McDounough County, August 26, 1866.
In 1891, March 1st, he concluded a good bargain with Miss Lucy
Pleines of Ruby, where they were married at her father's home She
was born March 14, 1870, in McLean County, Illinois.
Mr. Sweasey came to Seward County in February, 1880. He has
been engaged in the livery business at Milford for three years, and is a
wide-awake business man and seems to understand his business.
In 1900 Seward County, "Lee" is 33, married seven years to Lucy, 30.
In 1910 Seward County, "Lee" Sweazy is a teamster, 48, married to Lucy 17 years,
40, both born in Illinois.
In 1920 Seward County, Lee and Lucy don't have occupations.
In 1930 Seward County Lee is 63, retired, with Lucy 60.
Mason Lee Sweasey 1866-1936, is buried in Seward County, # 159748086, with Lucy 1870-1935 # 159748155.
1913 Wray "Charley Sweasey and wife, who live on a farm several miles southwest of Vernon,
were county seat husiness callers the first of the week."
