Frank J. Rehor, Edward Rehor, 6 South 48 West



They had siblings immigrating from Bohemia that settled in Kansas.

Mary Schalansky came with Edward. She 1885-1961 is buried in the Bohemian Cemetery, Smith County, Kansas # 28236941.

Another sister # 39820462 "Caroline Antonie Wolf was born April 12, 1896 in Zhor, Czechoslovakia to Joseph and Anna Sobola Rehor. Death came on Sunday morning December 24, 1978 at the Hilltop Lodge, Beloit, KS, at the age of 82 years. Cora, as she was called, spent her childhood years in Czechoslovakia and came to America in 1910 when she was 14 years old. She made her home in Rooks County, KS and attended school for two years to learn the English language. She went to Chicago for a time to be with her sister, Millie, and then came to Beloit to work in the home of George Kent. On December 26, 1923 she was united in marriage to Frank Wolf at Beloit, KS. They made their home on a farm south of Simpson. To this union were born three children, Lois, Lucille and a son who died in infancy. Cora was baptized in the Catholic Church of Zhor, Czech., and was a 50 year member of the Bohemian organization, the Western Bohemian Fraternal Association, ZCBJ Lodge No. 203 of Glasco, Kansas. She and her husband, Frank, celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with open house at their daughter, Mrs. James Guipre of Beloit in 1973. They left the farm in 1962 and moved to Simpson. Because of her health she entered Hilltop Lodge in August 1975. Cora leaves her two daughters and their husbands, Mrs. Lois Guipre and James of Beloit and Mrs. Lucille Johnson and Rollin of Salina; a sister Mrs. Millie Holy of Paxton, IL., 8 grandchildren, Deanne Phelps, Miltonvale, Cynthia Wilson, Angela Treaster, Michelle, and Kristie Guipre, all of Beloit, Patrice Shehane, Charlotte, NC, Pamela Johnson, Dallas, and Greg Johnson, Saline; 7 great-grandchildren, Karla and Darin Phelps, Tara and James Wilson, Stephanie and Stacey Shehane, and Melanie Treaster. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in April 1975, three sisters, and four brothers.   "
Joseph Frank Rehor 1877-1948 is buried in Smith Center, Kansas.
Anton George Rehor 1878-1965 is buried in Kirwin, Kansas.

Millie Rehor Holy 1897-1982 died in Champaign, Illinois. She had arrived in Baltimore in July 1911, age 13, with Antanie (Cora Rehor Wolf) age 16.
"Millie Holy, 84,of Paxton, died at Greenbriar Nursing Home, Champaign, at 6:45 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 1982. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Ford-Baier Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold Bodeen officiating. Burial will be in Glen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
She was born in Czechoslovakia July 30, 1897. She came to the United States in 1910, and first lived in [near] Smith Center, Kan.
She was married to Josef Holy in Smith Center. After leaving Smith Center, she lived in Chicago, and then Onarge, Roberts and Paxton.
She was a member of the Paxton United Methodist Church and Anti-Can't group of the Methodist Church. She and her husband owned and operated the Holy Tailor Shop in Paxton, and prior to that both were employed at Chanute Air Force Base.
Surviving are one son, Fred Holy, of Champaign; one daughter, Ruth Willamon, of Pestoum [Pesotum]; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is the last survivor of 13 [Rehor] children."

One post says "Aldrich Schalansky at a reunion mentioned that (brothers) Ed and Frank Rehor homesteaded 16 miles north of Vona, Colorado in sod houses (Kit Carson County). Frank lost his homestead and moved to Denver, CO with his wife, Josephine and their son, Tom."


FRANK

In 1910 Kit Carson County, Edward is 23, born in Bohemia, farming, living alone. Frank is 28, also born in Bohemia, livin alone next to Edward.
Frank claimed two quarters in secions 9 and 10, 6S, 48W in 1913.

He registered for WWI with a Vona address, born March 16, 1882, farming, with Ed as his nearest relative.
Frank Rehor, 38, of Vona Colorado, son of Joseph and Anna Rehor, married Josephine Muzik, 25, born in Bohemia, a telephone operator, in Cleveland Ohio April 6, 1920. Josephine's parents were Antono Muzik and Marie Ludwig.

Frank and Josephine divorced in Denver in 1925. They re-married in Jefferson County on March 24, 1927.

In 1930 Melvin precinct, Arapahoe County, Frank is 48, Josephine 35, with Thomas 8.

Frank is farming in Arapahoe County in 1940, 58, married to Josephine C. 45 born in Chechoslovokia, with Thomas 18 born in Colorado.

Frank registered for WWII living in Denver, a farmer, with Mrs. Josephine Rehor of the same address.

One post said Frank died in Denver on July 22, 1960.

Josephine C. Rehor, age 99, died iFebruary 21, 1994 in Federal Way, Washington.

In 1959 Denver, Thomas W. Rehor is an apprentice, with Ellen L.

Thomas Rehor, born July 1, 1921, died August 1986.

Eunice May Workman, 82, passed away on January 24, 2017 in Littleton, CO. Eunice was born in Glendive, MT on May 19, 1934 to Henry Theodore and Edna Candice (Wilhelm) Sell. Eunice was child number 11 of 13 siblings. She is survived by her son, Steven Rogers; daughter, Pamela Fluken; daughter, Elizabeth Herdt; step-daughter, Karen Burhans; 8 grandchildren, Tamara Elison, David Rogers, Daniel Rogers, Rick Boyer, Thomas McBartlett, Jaimie Golub, Mindy Kellar, Timothy Rogers and 18 great-grandchildren; and one remaining sibling, brother, Ted Sell. On July 19,1951 Eunice married Timothy Gordon Rogers in Miles City, MT. To that union, they were blessed with four children; Steven, Pamela, Linda (deceased), and Elizabeth. Eunice was married two additional times, with no additional children: February 1, 1981 to Thomas Rehor and June 9, 1990 to Orald Workman.

Ellen was born November 1, 1921 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to George A. Grant and Dorothea M. Bergersen, name Rehor in 1954, and Waffle in 1962.
She's buried in Auburn, Washington 1921-1995 # 27568723, with Richard B. Waffle 1930-1992.

EDWARD
Edward Rehor arrived in Baltimore in July 1902, on the Chemnitz from Bremen, age 16. With him is Marie Rehor 11 (OR 17).

In 1910 Kit Carson County, Edward is 23, born in Bohemia, farming, living alone. Frank is 28, also born in Bohemia, livin alone next to Edward.

Edward married Mabel Barber in Burlington September 28, 1914.

Edward registered for WWI with a Vona address, naturalized, born Sept 5, 1884.

Edward claimed a quarter in section 9 in 1916.

In 1920 Kit Carson County, Edward is 36, born in Bohemia and immigrating in 1902, Mable A. 24 in South Dakota. Rudolph E. is 4, Evert N. 3, adn Fern one month.

In 1930 Edward is 45, Mabel A. 35, Rudolph E. 14, Everett R. 13, Fern G. 9, Eugene A. 8, Raymalee E. 7, Fred H. 5, and Earl W. newborn.

In 1940 Edward is 54, Mable 45, Eugene 19, Fern 20, Raymond 17, Fred 15, Earl 10, and Archie 7.

In October 1947 Hans Koefed sold the Yuma Tavern to Ed Rehor of Vona.

RAYMOND

Raymond married Helen Lucille Proctor on December 12, 1948 at the Baptist Church in Vona. They will make their home in Yuma, where Mr. Rehor is manager of the Silver State Service Station.

They had Ronald Ray on October 5, 1951, in Yuma, weight seven pounds and one-fourth ounce.

January 21, 1960 "Mrs. Mabel Rehor of the Vona community was a guest at the home of her son, Ray Rehor, and family in Yuma.

June 1960 "Tommy Mitchell accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rehor, Gary and Ronnie to Estes Park Saturday evening and returned Monday morning."

RUDY
Melba married Guy Tobin on 24 April 1951 in Colfax Co. New Mexico. Guy was born in 1917 and died in 1977, at age 60.
One post says "Melba married Rudolph Edward Rehor on 25 July 1952 in Raton New Mexico. Rudolph was born on 30 July 1915 near Vona Colo, died on 7 August 1988 in Swedish Medical Center Englewood Colo., at age 73, and was buried in August 1987 in Kirk Cemt Kirk Colo. "

January 1, 1953 "The V.F.W. hall in Joes is being purchased by Rudy Rehor who will convert it into a repair shop, and it is possible he will handle machinery."

1955 Joes items "Al Palmer has leased rooms in the Benton apartments and will do light housekeeping wehile working for Rudolph Rehor in the R & R Implement company."

May 1956 Joes items "The Rudy Rehors moved to Kirk to live while Mrs. Rehor has charge of the cafe there. They locked up their home in Joes during their absence, but Rudy is still here at his placve of business during the day."

In April 1959 they were working in Arizona "after having attended to some business matters in Joes."


July 1960 "Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Rehor of Eads were visitors of Alma Idler last Thursday. He is with Northwestern Construction Company. Mrs. Rehor and Mrs. Idler are sisters."

March 1972, Houston, Missouri "Rudolph Rehor of eastern Colorado has bought the Earny Kirkland farm in the Rocky Branch neighborhood."

Rudolph 1915-1988 is buried in Kirk, # 28343006, with Melba 1923-1987 # 28343009.

November 12, 1987 "Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hagan attended the funeral of Melba Rehor in Burlington Monday evening."

August 16, 1956 "Norma Jean is the name of the little daughter at the Earl Rehor home. Little Donna stayed with her grandmother Rehor while her mother was away."

July 1959 Joes items "Earl Rehor and wife and Emmett Seaman and crew arrived home from Oklahoma and Texas where they have been cutting grain. They will now do the harvesting here."

Earl is buried in Yuma 1929-2016 # 169561154.

March 24, 1960 Joes items "Miss Patricia Rehor accompanied her grandmother, Mrs. Mildred Cardwell, and Mrs. Charles Purvis of Cope to Atwood Kanss last week. They returned home on Monday."

Patricia married Jim Jones, who's buried in Cope "Jim L. Jones 1947 ~ 2012 Thursday, 01 March 2012
Jim was born February 17, 1947 in Wray, Colorado to Charles Lyle and Sue M. (Gilstrap) Jones Peterson. He passed away on February 18, 2012 after losing his battle to pancreatic cancer at the Denver Hospice at the age of 65. Jim received his GED and he served our country in the United States Army. Jim had a vast array of skills which lead to employment opportunities in welding and fabrication. Jim married Patricia Rehor in Wray, Colorado. This union was blessed with two children, Holly and James.
Jim is survived by his wife, Patricia Jones of Aurora, Colorado; two children, daughter, Holly Thompson and husband, David of Otis, Colorado and son, James and wife, Sheri Johnston of San Diego, California; three granddaughters, Alexis, Madison and Mallory Thompson of Otis, Colorado; mother, Sue Peterson of Puyallup, Washington; sister, Connie Hansen of Puyallup, Washington and brother, Butch Jones of Haigler, Nebraska. "

DONOVAN - SON OF EVERETT

January 7, 1965 "Kathy Hindman and Donnie Rehor were married in Wray on December 30. Best wishes to them."

1965 "Mrs. Kathy Rehor left by bus Thursday to spend the weekend with her husband, Pvt. Donovan Rehor, who is stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. Don is going to school studying Automatic Mechanics."

In December 1965 Donovan was stationed in Frankfort,Germany.
April 1974 "A Colorado man was taken to Behlen Community Hospital, Columbus, Nebraska, following an incident Tuesday afternoon in which he received a gun shot wound in the leg. Injured was Delwyn Speicher of Fort Morgan, Colo., a passenger in a semi-trailer truck moving east on Highway 30 about 5 miles east of Columbus. Driver was Donovan Rehor of Brush, Colo. The accident happened, according to Colfax Sheriff Richard Kruse, when a .44 Magnum revolver accidentally discharged in the cab of the truck, the bullet hitting Speicher in the leg just above the ankle. Rehor pulled the truck into a Champlin pipeline terminal and Michael Korth of Columbus rushed Speicher to Behlen Hospital. Speicher was later transferred by the Columbus Rescue Unit to Bergan Mercy Hospital i n Omaha, where he has been listed in satisfactory condition."

John Pletcher's 1976 obituary mentions daughter Kathy Rehor of Brush, grandchildren Kenneth and Laura Rehor.
1983 "Kathy Rehor and children of Akron brought her mother, Rose Hindman, home from the Fort Morgan hospital.
June 12, 2014 "Kathleen L. Rehor, 69, of Akron Colorado devoted mother and grandmother passed away June 12, 2014 at Medical Center of the Rockies. Kathy was born December 26, 1944 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Paul and Rose (Boyer) Hindman. Ater several moves that included Hamilton, Montana, and Littleton, Colorado, her family settled in Joes, Colorado where she graduated from Liberty School in 1963. Never afraid of hard work, she always did what was needed to earn a living for herself and her children. She worked for many years as a waitress, cook, and baker's assistant before she moved her family to Akron where she worked as a bookkeeper for Rob Strauch. In 1987, she started at Citizens National Bank (now known as Farmers State Bank) where she worked as a Bookkeeper until her retirement in 2009. Her greatest joy was her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed scenic drives and road trips of any length. While Kathy enjoyed sports of all types, to her, NASCAR on Sundays was always the highlight of the week. Kathy was a great cook, favorites included lasagna, biscuits and gravy, fried chicken, peach cobbler, and delicious Christmas fudge. Her great faith in God brought strength to herself and her children and saw them through good times and bad.
Kathy is survived by her son, Ken of Grand Junction, his wife Allison and grandsons Lucas, Michael and Patrick; her daughter, Laura Doughty of Pierce, her husband Andy and granddaughter Rebecca; sister, JoAnn Brockway of Golden; brother, Mike Hindman of Gypsum and his wife Carol; and brother-in-law, Don Frieler of Greeley.
She was preceded in death by her parents Rose and Paul; and her sister, Patricia Frieler. "
