In 1885 Richardson County, Nebraska, "A.J." is a laborer, 30, with Josephine 22. Minnie is 5, Effie 3.
Harley 1853-1931 is buried in Martin, South Dakota # 74478469, with Josephine Delphine (Flageolle) Barber 1860-1935.
They were in Kit Carson County for the 1920 census.
Minnie's sister Goldie married Edward A. Plucheck and is buried in Cope, Colorado.
Mabel married Ed Rehor and is buried in Yuma 1894-1966 
William Harley Barber 1892-1948 is buried in Merced County, California # 102993528.
Maude married Bion O. Waterman and is buried in Pomona, California 1883-1910 # 35272150.
Clarence registered for WWI in Vona, born March 1, 1898, farming for his father Harley, single.
Clarence Barber was farming in 1920 Kit Carson County, 21, with Helen Marie E. Barber 18.
They're back in Union County, South Dakota in 1930.
In 1940 Union County Clarence is 42, Marie H. 38, Carlton A. 18, Robert L. 17, and Leland C. 6.
Clarence 1898-1979 is buried in Caldwell, Idaho # 86329782, with Marie Oliver Barber married in Burlington in 1918.
Herschell D. Barber, born in Kit Carson County April 29, 1920, died May 20, 1997, buried in Caldwell, Idaho # 81063532., wsith Willie Jo (Duncan) Barber 1928-2007.
His first wife Gladys W. (Richardson) Barber 1917-1967 is buried in Battle Mountain, Nevada # 23057569.
Carlton A. Barber, born in Kit Carson County Oct 18, 1921, was an Army WWII private, died May 29, 1979, buried in Sturgis, South Dakota # 24692782, with Margaret 1916-1990.
Robert Leon Barber, 25, married Dorine Louise Matter on December 30, 1947 in Billings, Montana.
Robert L. Barber 1924-1987 is buried in Fort Logan # 36027151.

In 1870 Buchanan County, Iowa, William Iler is farming, 39, born in Ohio, with mary 35 Kentucky. John is 2. Alice Walton is 16, born in Illinois, Logan 14 and Ellen 11 both born in OIowa.
Ella Walton Harkness, born in Leon Iowa on January 13, 1858 to
Lnzo W. Walton and M. Alice "Ives", died April 26, 1934 in Linn County, Oregon,
wife of Henry Harkness 1858-1934. Ella is buried in Linn County # 29320019.
In 1880 Dakota County, Nebraska, Wm. Iler is 49, born in Ohio,
Mary 48 in Kentucky. John W. is 12, Va. J. 9, both born in Iowa.
Mary is buried in Union County, South Dakota 1835-1895, # 103109697 "Mary Iler was born Mary Fortune on 21 May 1835, Franklin County, KY, twin to Martha Fortune. Mary married 1st Leander L. Walton, 1st child born 1854 IL. By 1856 they resided in Buchanan County, IA. He died 1866 and Mary married 2nd on 1 April 1867 William Iler."
John William Iler, age 25, born in Independence, Iowa, son of William "Brown" and Mary Fortune,
married Minnie Barber on Dec 26, 1894 in Woodbury County, Iowa. She was 16, born at Ponca, Nebraska to W. H. Barber and Josephine Frazer.
In 1900 Union County, South Dakota, John is farming, born January 1868 in Iowa,
married five years to Minnie B. May 1880 in Nebraska. Willie H. June 1898, Cecilia May Nov 1899.
His father William Iler is widowed, born Feb 1831 in Ohio.
In 1910 Kit Carson County, John is 42, born in Iowa, married 15 years to Minnie B. 29 Nebraska. She's had five kids, three living. William R. 11, May S. 10, and Andrew J. 3 were born in South Dakota.
John claimed a quarter in 15, 6S, 48W in 1912, and another in 15 in 1915.
In 1920 Kit Carson County, John is 54, Minnie 39, William H. 21, Andy 13, and Cora 5.
1926 Santa Ana "Mrs. J. Dircks, of Colorado, who is spending the winter with
relatives in Los Angeles, is spending a few days with a former neighbor, Mrs. John Iler."
The 1929 Pasadena directory has John, a teamster, and Minnie at 2524 Nina.
In 1930 Pasadena, John is a teamster, 63, Minnie B. 55, Dick 23 a teamster, Cora M. 15, and Clarence W. 8.
John died May 4, 1935 in Los Angeles County.
In 1940 Pasadena, Minnie is a laundress, 59, with Clarence W. 18.
Minnie died October 13, 1962 in Los Angeles County, mother's maiden name Flageoll.
CECILE
Elmer Roy Johnson and Cecil Mae Iler, both of Vona, married
in Kit Carson County December 14, 1918.
In 1920 Kit Carson County, Cecile M. 20 born in South Dakota, is married to Elmer H. Johnson 22 Kansas.
In 1930 Kit Carson County, Roy E. Johnson is 32, Mae C. 30, Alberta I. 7, Milton O. 5, and Orthy W. newborn.
In 1940 Jefferson County, Colorado, Roy is 42, working on a road project, Mae 40, Alberta 19, Milton 15, Orby 10, Elva 8, and Robert 6. All were in Kit Carson County in 1935.
Roy registerd for WWII in Arriba, Colorado in 1942, born November 8, 1897 ant LaCrosse, WIsconsin, nearest relative Madge S. Johnson of Arriba.
Milton Orlanda Johnson was born March 7, 1925 at Vona, Colorado, dying October 14, 2002.
Orthy W. Johnson was born May 13, 1929, dying February 25, 2002, a Marine private in WWII, burined in Fort Logan # 17366149.
"Elva Marie (Johnson) Gardner, 85 of Limon, Colorado passed away peacefully at Carla's Cluster Care Northeast Campus on October 3, 2016.
Elva was born to Roy and Cecil Mae (Iler) Johnson on July 5, 1931 in Vona, Colorado. She was joined by three brothers and one sister.
She loved being a mother to her three daughters; Melody, Sharon and Linda and always made home their refuge. Elva loved to work with her hands, as she could make anything from a ball of yarn. She collected earrings and had earrings to match any outfit she wore. She also enjoyed westerns and particularly loved John Wayne movies. Elva would make a yearly trip to Branson, Missouri and as soon as she would return home she would begin planning for the next trip.
Elva was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Alberta Wilson and
two brothers; Orthy Johnson, Milton Johnson and daughter Melody Parks.
She is survived by her daughters; Sharon and husband Bob Torres of Denver, Colorado
and Linda Harris of Lamar, Colorado, one brother, Robert and his wife Bonnie Johnson of Lakewood,
Colorado along with eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews."
"Alberta Imogene Wilson of Limon, Colorado passed away January 30, 2006 at Prairie View Nursing Home.
On March 14, 1923, on a small farm north of Vona, Colorado, Alberta Imogene Wilson was born
to Roy & Cecil M. Johnson. Alberta was the eldest of five children. During her childhood,
Alberta lived on several farms around Vona until all the children were born.
However everything was lost due to very dry weather. The family then moved into the town
of Seibert, CO. There they lived in a one-room house. They had no furniture and used nail
kegs for chairs, slept on the floor and held their food in their hands.
Alberta's father opened a small garage in Seibert which he operated for about 3 years.
This business allowed the family to get back on their feet. They then moved back onto a
farm where they remained for only two years. Again the dry weather drove them away.
Alberta was 14 years old when the family moved to Denver, where her father was
employed on a turkey farm. The owners raised about 20,000 turkeys. She continued
to help out on the farm and managed to complete school only through the 8th grade.
In later years she worked for a Jewish family as a maid and serving girl.
In 1941, she was married to George F. Sage, and then moved to Lakewood, Colorado.
To this union, three children were born; Diana, Betty, and Royal.
George passed away in his home after 36 years of marriage in September of 1972.
Alberta remarried in December of 1974 to a friend she had known before George, Mr. Leo Wilson. There were no children born to this union.
Alberta had a keen sense of humor and delighted in practical jokes,
such as taking the nurse's keys at the nursing home and hiding them
under her pillow. She loved to tease and her laughter was almost
always hidden behind her hand. She was also very fond of gardening
and found a lot of pleasure in helping her daughter Betty in her
garden in Genoa, and Diana and Ken's garden in Hugo.
Alberta enjoyed bowling and was bowler of the year one year.
She loved to crochet, embroidery and quilt.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Cecil Johnson, her husbands,
George F. Sage and Leo Wilson, and two brothers;
Orthy Johnson and Milton Johnson.
She is survived by her children; Diana Sterling and husband Kenneth
of Hugo, CO,
Betty Patton and husband Don of Genoa, CO, Royal Sage and wife Anita of Denver,
a brother Robert and wife Bonnie of Denver,
and sister Elva Gardner of Hugo, Colorado, plus ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors who will miss her greatly.
Funeral services for Alberta were held Wednesday, February 1, 2006
at the Hugo United Methodist Church in Hugo, CO at 10:00 A.M. with burial
immediately following at Evergreen Cemetery in Hugo, CO."

WILLIAM
The New Jersey State Normal School class of 1910 included Sadie Dulmer (Mrs. Emil Alt) of Vona, COlorado.
Emil Alt married Sadie Dulmer in 1914 in New Jersey.
In 1920 Kit Carson County, Sadie Alt is widowed, 29, born in New Jersey, with Marjorie T. 5 born in Colorado. She's with her sister May Klassen 24 and her husbgand Frank 31 and their five kids.
The sister's father Cornelius Dulmer 62, widowed, born in Friesland, Denmark, is with them.
William Harley Iler married Mrs. Sadie Alt on May 13, 1920, recorded in Kit Carson COunty.
May 26, 1926 Yorba Linda "Funeral services for the late William H. Iler, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Iler, were held in the Nazareno church in Placentia Tuesday afternoon Mr. Iler lost his life Saturday afternoon, when the 80,000 barrel oil tank collapsed at the Morse ... Mr. and Mrs. Will the time, Mr. and Mrs. Iler occupied the house on the Butman ranch last summer, and his parents reside on reservoir hill on the Nla- wander property.
He is survived by his widow and three children, his father and mother, two brothers ; and a sister."
June 1927 "Mrs. Sadie Iler, of North Bradford avenue,
is leaving Thursday to take a summer course at the University of Southern California.
Mrs. Iler and children will make their home with a sister at Idlewild during the summer."
June 18, 1928 "Cornelius Dulmer, aged resident of Placentia and a native of Denmark, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sadie Iler, Saturday, after a short illness. Funeral services were held in Calvary church this afternoon. The Rev. Charles E. Fuller, pastor of the church, officiated."
Cornelius Dulmer 1857-1928 is buried in Orange County, California # 107133429,
with Trintje Nauta Dulmer 1856-1918 buried in Kit Carson County Smit Cemetery # 40612784.
September 1928 "Mrs. Sadie Iler has accepted a position in the grammar school at Darwin, Inyo county, and will leave next week for her new home."
In 1930 Inyo County, California, Sadie Iler is 39, Ruth M. 8, and Lois A. 7.
"Group leader from the Camp Fire Girls, Mrs. Sadie Iler? Am I saying that right?
She was very strong in the church also, but she was also a teacher at the elementary school. And she was quite a bit older, gray-haired lady, she was just great with the scouts. She took us to Whitney Portals camping overnight, and we had a rainstorm, washed the portals out, and we were very fortunate we got out of there in time. [Laughs] But I was thinking when we took our break that I don't recall how many barracks were here when I was here. It didn't seem to me that there were a whole lot of barracks finished, but they must have been. It would have had to have been the second or third year. There would have had to have been a lot of homes in the camp."
Sadie (Dulmer) Iler 1890-1987 is buried in Palmdale California # 94718879.
In 1940 Pasadena, Marjorie Alt is 24, a saleslady. Ruth Iler 18 born in Colorado and Lois Iler 17 in California are both doing house work. So the Iler's must have moved around 1922.
All three were in Larimer County, Colorado in 1935.
Marjorie 1915-2005 is buried in Riverside # 82518749, wife of John James March.
Lois Ann Dearth, born August 12, 1922 in California,
died Dec 16, 1949 in Los Angeles County, mother Dulmer, father Iler.
CORA
Cora was born Oct 4, 1914 at Vona.
In 1940 Pasadena she's 25, married to Herman Wasson, a lumber mill employee, 47 born in Alabama. Lilly and Roy Wasson, herman's parenesa are with them.
Herman Calvin Wasson 1897-1955 died in Los Angeles County, buried in Whittier # 147094450.
Cora was a Bartsch in 1965, dying January 2, 2001.
She's buried in Whittier, California # 10369227.
CLARENCE
So is Clarence Warren Iler 1921-1991 # 10369050 and his wife Julia Pearl (Seaver) Iler 1922-1997 # 10369071 born in Kansas.
ANDREW
In the same cemetery is Andy John "Dick" Iler 1906-1977 # 10527382, dying in San Bernardino County.
Pomona California - April 25, 1977 "Dick Iler of 16226 Pomona Rincon Road,
Chino, died Saturday after several years of failing health.
Mr. Iler was born Nov. 15, 1906 in South Dakota and had resided in La Puente,
Walnut, Pomona and Chino. He had been a horse trainer for many years.
He is survived by one son, Gale of El Monte; one brother,
Clarence of Mira Loma; and a sister, Cora Bartsch, also of Mira Loma.
Arrangements are pending with Todd Memorial Chapel, Pomona."
