Colo., arrived at the S. O. Officer farm Tuesday forenoon.
They visited Tuesday evening with the Charley Fisher family,
Tuesday night and Wednesday morning with Mrs. Margaret Fisher and son,
Simon and took dinner with the John Marzolf family.
They then returned to the S. O. Officer farm.
Oscar and his mother started back to Colorado on Thursday morning
in their Ford and John will leave as soon as he gets his crops sold
and other articles disposed of. He will go by team and wagon."

Maude Fisher, born April 25, 1880 in Iowa

April 17, 1947. Informant was John of Birch Tree,
Missouri, to be buried in Mountain View Cemetery, # 23045009. John is buried there 1875-1966 # 23045001.

MAE
On March 3, 1927, Robert O. Mewes, 23, of Stratton, married Mae L. Fisher, 15, of Stratton.
Her father was John A. Fisher. Maude Fisher was a witness.
In 1920 Arthur County, Nebraska, Robert, 26 born in Missouri, and Mae 15 born in Colorado have Evelyn w born in Colorado and Robert eleven months in Nebraska.
Robert, a farm laborer, and Mae are in Marion County, Arkansas in 1940. Evelyn is 12, Robert 10, Opal 7, Hugh 6, and Violet 1 - all kids born in Nebraska.
"Mae L. Mewes, 91, of Cheyenne died June 21, 2002 at Cheyenne Healthcare.
She was born May 16, 1911, in Stratton, Colo.
Mrs. Mewes worked as a cook, baker, and kitchen manager at many Cheyenne restaurants. She retired in 1973.
She was a member of Culinary Workers Local 337.
Mrs. Mewes is survived by sons, John E. Mewes of Cheyenne and Hugh A. Mewes of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughters, Evelyn L. Mewes of Cheyenne, Opal J. Collison of Pensacola, Fla., and Violet M. Patrick of Haughton, La.; a sister, Amanda Davis of Eldorado Springs, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Mewes Sr., whom she married on March 3, 1927; sons, Robert O. Mewes Jr. and James Mewes; a brother, Oscar Fisher; three grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Schrader Chapel with Pastor Harold Hampton officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens."
Opal Mewes is in the 1948 high school class at Fairbury, Nebraska High School.
In 1958 Cheyenne, Wyoming, Robert O. (Mae) is a mechanic for W. J. Denneen, and they live at 1004 House Avenue. Bob Jr.(Donna) is a mechanic for Tyrell Chevrolet, and they live on Rural Route 2.

Tracy Quinn Mewes, 16, of Warsaw was killed in an auto accident Sunday (April 18, 1982) in Laredo, Texas.
He was born May 2, 1965, in Keokuk, Iowa, a son of Hugh and Maxine Hardy Mewes. He attended Warsaw schools.
Surviving are his mother, Maxine Shipe of Warsaw; his father of Colorado; two brothers, Virgil of Azoma, Texas, and Hugh of Warsaw; two sisters, Maudie and Melodie, both of Warsaw; maternal grandparents, Kathyrn Hall of Warsaw and Albert Finton of Keokuk; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mewes, Sr., of Cheyenne, Wyo.
Hugh Anderson Mewes of Colorado Springs, died April 21st at Penrose St. Francis Hospital from complications of a fall at home.
Hugh was born in Lewellen, Nebraska on February 9, 1934 to Robert O. Mewes, Sr. and Mae L. Fisher-Mewes.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Margaret, of Colorado Springs; his children: Debra McCarty of San Jacinto, CA,, Peggy (Rick) Rahe of Jansen, NE, Virgil Mewes, Maude ( Bob) Martin and Melody McCandless of Warsaw, IL; step-children: Cheryl (Dave) TaFoya, of Lander, WY, John Nelson and Chris (Debbie) Nelson of Denver; siblings: Evelyn Mewes and John Mewes of Cheyenne, WY, Opal (Ted) Collison of Pensacola, FL, and Violet (Charles) Patrick of Haughton, LA, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Robert O., Jr. and James, and his sons; Tracy, Allen and Hugh, Jr.
Hugh was a man of many talents who worked as an auto mechanic in Nebraska, Wyoming, and Illinois until the early 70's. He then began working for Dover Elevator as an elevator mechanic, ending his career as southern Colorado maintenance supervisor for Dover Elevator.
After retirement, Hugh enjoyed going to Cripple Creek, garage sales, and hanging with his friends as Overtime Sports Bar.
In accordance with Hugh's wishes, no services will be held. Hugh is being cremated, and his ashes will be spread in the mountains west of Colorado Springs.
JAMES
James M. Officer married Myrtle Pemberton on April 16, 1902, recorded in Denver.
In 1910 Kit Carson County, James M. is farming, 28, born in Tennessee, married 8 years to Myrtle 26 Missouri. Minnie 4 and Vernise 1 were born in Nebraska.
John Alfred Officer was born at Flagler on January 17, 1911, dying February 13, 2006.
James M. Officer proved up 280 acres in section 8, 8S 51W in 1912.
In 1922 Denver, James M. (Myrtle B.) is a painter, at 2243 California.
In 1930 Rawlins County, Kansas, John A. Officer 19, Herschel 17, and Curtis J. 15, all born in Colorado, are with uncle Roger Pemberton in Rawlins County, Kansas.
John married Carroll Carter on may 22, 1930 in Littleton, Colorado.
NETTIE
In 1910 Kit Carson County, Nettie Johnson is 20, married one year to Howard E. Johnson 25 Iowa.
Howard registered for WWI with a Stratton address, born March 7, 1885, farming.
They're in Natrona County, Wyoming in 1920, where Howard is a carpenter, 34, Nettie 30. Pearl 8 and Lulu 7 were born in Kansas.
(Everett Johnson married Eva Sear (Scholtz) on February 11, 1935 in Toole, Montana.
Howard Everett Johnson registered for WWII in Cut Bank, Montana, born in Jefferson Iowa March 7, 1885 to William Johnson and Luella Elloiott.
He married Pearl E. Pickett on July 27 1948 in Cut Bank.
Howard died September 17, 1965 in Deer Lodge County, Montana buried in Anaconda # 95710025.)
In 1930 Chautauqua County, Kansas, Nettie is 40, married to Ralph Morton 44 an oil pumper. Lola is the stepdaughter, 14.
