Antonie and Cornelia (Brouwer) Eggink , 6 South 48 West
Johanna "Anna" Frederika (Eggink) Burggraaf was the daughter of Dirk Jan Eggink and Mina Gerharda Eskes. Many family trees state that Anna was born in the Netherlands in 1868, but that is not the case. She is first found on the 1880 Federal Census in Pella, Marion, Iowa, at the age of 6 years. She is listed as a niece and is with her brother A. (Anthonij/Anthony). He is listed as born in Holland while she and younger sister W. (who is actually Minnie) are both born in Iowa. It is probable that there was an older sister Johanna born in 1868 who died, and in the common practice of the Dutch, this Johanna inherited the name when she was born. She migrated with her father and stepmother Tryntje (Brouwer) Burggraaf Eggink to Sioux County in about 1888. Johanna is buried in Lyon County, Iowa # 76640039. |

Most of all, Cornelia will be remembered as a humble child of God, a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Cornelia was predeceased by her devoted husband of 63 years, Jim, her sisters, Jessie De Angelis and Dorothy Harris, and her great-grandson, Luke Barnes. She is survived by her five daughters and sons-in law, Lynette and Bill Marble, Charlotte and Joe Holland, Judy and Dennis Vander Plaats, Lori and Bob Van Nieuwenhuyzen, and Valerie and Manuel Tavares, 13 cherished grandchildren, 19 adored great-grandchildren, her beloved sisters and brothers in law, Marie and Al Van Veldhuizen, Marian and Cory Van Spronsen, Charlotte and Bill Viss, her sister Nancy Schuller, her sister in-law Alberdina Alberdi, and brother in law and sister in law Gerrit and Gertrude Verver.
