Florence M. Pettibone 1905-2003 is buried in Stratton # 136910015.
"Former Kanorado, Kansas resident Florence Matilda Pettibone passed away Saturday,
December 20, 2003, in Peoria, Arizona. She was 98 years old. Florence was born July 19, 1905
to Lily (Flageolle) and Michael Balanga in Jefferson, South Dakota. She was one of sixteen
children. Florence attended a small country school north of Stratton, Colorado through the
third grade. In 1964, Florence married Harry Pettibone in Denver, Colorado.
The family then moved to Kanorado, Kansas where they resided until 1989.
Florence then moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she lived for six years
and then moved to Peoria, Arizona, where she resided until her death.
Florence was a member of the Catholic Church and Senior Citizens actives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, eight sisters
and one granddaughter. She is survived by her four sons: Jim Dowd and his wife Ellen
of Sun City, Arizona; Raymond Dowd and his wife Gail of Marietta, Georgia;
Tom Dowd and his wife Sheryl of Chehalis, Washington; and Ed Dowd and his wife
Kathy of Bethune, Colorado. Florence is also survived by ten grandchildren,
numerous great grandchildren, and two sisters: Bertha Johnson and her husband
Leonard of Burlington, Colorado and Louise Clark and her husband Roy of Greeley,
Colorado. Graveside services for Florence were held on Wednesday, December 24, 2003
at the Calvary Cemetery in Stratton, Colorado at 10:00 A.M.

"Michael "Mike" Benjamin Parsons, 68, of Sterling,
peacefully passed away at North Colorado Medical Center
in Greeley on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 14, 2017 in the loving
arms of his family. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday,
Feb. 20, 2017, at Tennant Funeral Home. Interment followed
at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mike was born on Dec. 20, 1948,
in Stratton to William Francis and Louise Elizabeth (Balanga)
Parsons and lived his early years in Denver.
David Henry Balanga married Flossie Marie Stephens
on September 12, 1948. She was born July 19, 1927, divorced. He was born Dec 16, 1918

Bertha Balanga married Leonard Johnson on November 16, 1949.
"Lifelong Burlington resident Leonard Willis Johnson Sr. passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Penrose Main Hospital in Colorado Springs. He was 79 years old.
Leonard was born on May 25, 1930, in Idalia to Frank R. and Olive E. (Walters) Johnson. He was one of six children. He grew up and attended school in the Burlington area, graduating from Burlington High School in 1948.
On Nov. 16, 1949, Leonard married Bertha M. Balanga at St. Charles Catholic Church in Stratton. To this union, three children were born; Nancy, Leonard Jr., and Susan.
Leonard owned and operated Burlington Foods Grocery Store for many years. He was also a life-time member of the Moose Lodge, a former Rotarian and member of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son J.R., a son-in-law Craig Pottorff, sister Vera Walters, and two brothers Kenneth and Arthur Johnson.
He is survived by his wife Bertha of the home, two daughters Nancy Gramoll and her husband Lynn of Colorado Springs and Susan Pottorff of Burlington.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Brian Gramoll, Jessica Johnson, Kasey Pottorff, Jeremiah Gramoll, Michael Pottorff, Leonard Johnson III and Shannen Pottorff; as well as six great-grandchildren; Gavin Fauson, Addison Banner, Emma Camp, Annika Way, Michaela Jo Pottorff and Cain Gramoll.
Funeral services for Leonard were held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Burlington United Methodist Church in Burlington with the Rev.
Eric Parker officiating.
Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery in Burlington. "
Lawrence A. Balanga, 21, married Bessie Snavely, 24, on November 4, 1930 in Stratton. Mildred Balanga was the witness.}
Bessie, per one tree, was the daughter of Joseph Snavely and Zylphia Clute.
In 1966, Bessie Balanga (wid Lawrence) is living at 257 S. Raleigh, Denver.
One tree said she died January 1984 in Commerce City, and Lawrence died in 1964.
Their son Charles E. Balanga, born in 1939, died in 1987, buried in Mount Olivet, Cemetery, Colorado.
Therse Lundvall was born on Oct. 3 1924, in the home north of Vona. Her parents were Mike Balanga and Lily Flageolle-Balanga. She was the 10th of 14 children, of which two died in infancy. Therse attended school in the Stratton area. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Therese married Virgil Lundvall on March 2, 1952. They farmed northwest of Burlington before moving to town in 1979. After a lengthy illness, Therse passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 8, 2000. Preceding Therse in death were her parents; brothers Lawrence, Rueb, Ed and Mike; two infant sisters, Cecilia and Mary Flageolle, and sisters Anna Marie Pratt and Mildred Homer. Survivors include brother Dave Balanga of Buffalo, Wyo; Sisters Florence Pettibone of Phoenis, Ariz., Louise Clark of Demming, NM, Bertha Johnson and Dorothy Clark of Burlington; and sisters-inlaw Ethel Devlin, Thelma Williams and Violet Knapp; and her husband Virgil of the home. Therse's fondest memories were when she helped with her nieces and nephews and when they would come to stay with her on the farm; also the children of their farm employees. Therse always enjoyed the many trips she and Virgil took together and expecially Virgil's Army World War II reunions. They traveled to Tucumcari, NM, for 7 years at the end of fall. She like her many trinkets, watching the birds, feeding the squirrels, as well as her card games and bingo. She loved visiting with friends and family; she also loved to cook. Therse was a loving wife of 48 years and will be missed by her family and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Services for Therse were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington on Monday, March 13, 2000, at 2 p.m. with Pastor William Viergutz officiating. Musical selections 'Take My hand, Precious Lord," "On the Wings of a Dove," and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," were Provided by soloist Leonard Dutton, accompanied by Sheree Mack. Casket bearers were Jo Flageolloe, Bob Flageolle, Leonard Johnson Jr. Bill Parsons Ed Dowd and Gorden Pettibone. Honorary escorts were Russ Pratt, Gerald Flageolle, George Williams, Jerry Wolf, Dave Balanga, Wayne Balanga, Walt Isenbart and KenDobler.
Therse # 13541344 and Virgil 1917-2006 # 13541343 are buried in Burlington.
"In 1948, Virgil married Thelma Pettibone in Littleton, Colorado. This marriage later ended with the death of Thelma in 1949. On March 2, 1952, Virgil married Therese Balanga. "
