In 1900 Nuckolls County, Nebraska, Elijah born Feb 1862 in Illinois, married 13 years to Malinda C. Nov 1868
Iowa. All seven of her kids are living. Dora March 1888, Katye Dec 1899, Buyrel E. August 1891,
Charley F. Feb 1893, Gladys E. March 1895, Lilac G. January 1897 and a son born May 1899, all born in Nebraska.
In 1910 Jewell County, Kansas, Elijah is 47, Malinda 41, Dora 22, Florence 20, Burwell 18, Charles 17, Gladys 15, Lila 13, and Kenneth 10 all kids born in Nebraska.
Elijah claimed a quarter in 25, 6 South, 48W in 1910.
But in 1915 he's still listed in Jewell County, Kansas, 52, with Marinda 46, Charles 22,
Lilac 18, Kenneth 16, and Nellie 8.
Charles Atteberry, Pvt. Battery A, 337th Field Artillery, 88th Infantry Division, who died October 9, 1918, buried in the "Europe Section" Site 1654, of Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.
In 1920 Kit Carson County, Elijah is 58 born in Illinois, Malinda C. 51 Iowa,
with Kenneth 20 Nebraska. Nelle A. Anderson 13 is a granddaughter born in Kansas.
In 1930 Elijah and Marinda are farming in Elbert County, Colorado, with Eugene K. 30 and his wife Fern 22.

Anna G. Bottorf is in Jewell County, Kansas in 1895, two years old, with George 41 and Amelia 38. J.W is 14, R.B. 11, and F.A. 5.
In 1900 Jewell County, George born Oct 1852 and Amelia April 1857, borh born iN Pennsylvania, have John 19, Ray 15, Frank 10, Grace March 1893 and Charles 3, all born in Kansas.

Fort Collins, Colo., and is presently managing a
livestock feeder operation in Holyoke, Colorado."

Elton E. Atteberry died in Haxtun, Colorado, and is buried

Beryl Loree Atteberry was born at Seibert/Joes Colorado March 15, 1919, to Buyrel E. Atteberry and Grace A. Bottorf, dying aas Malone in 1940, and as Burnass in 1973.
She's buried in Idalia, Colorado # 64972616.
Vena Feb 9, 1921-January 24, 2013 has a stone in Elizabeth Colorado w # 27154602, with Robert A. Britton 1919-1999.
Vena Lee (Atteberry) Britton, 91, of Castle Rock died Dec. 25, 2012, at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree.
She was born Feb. 9, 1921, in a sod house on a farm near Kirk to Buyrel E. and Grace Anna (Bottorf) Atteberry.
The family, being sharecroppers, moved to farms in Douglas County near Elbert, as well as Elizabeth, Franktown and Parker.
After she finished eighth grade in Parker, the family moved to Aurora to the Chuck Bresnahan place, where they farmed and milked cows in a round barn, which is now a national historic site on the Delaney Farm, also a historic site.
Mrs. Britton attended William Smith High School in Aurora, graduating in June 1940.
However, she and a hired hand, Bob Britton, went to Cheyenne, Wyo., in a blizzard in a 1929 Model A Ford to “stand up” for her older sister, LoRee, and W.A. Malone while they got married.
When they came back, both couples were married. In those days, one couldn’t be married while attending high school, so Mrs. Britton lived at home in secret to school and family. After graduation, the Brittons announced their secret and started living as a family.
Mrs. Britton was a homemaker while her children were young, then joined the work force as a rose cutter and grader for various greenhouses along Cherry Creek to Parker.
Later she worked with carnations as a cutter, grader and dye technician. When it became hard to “walk the benches,” she went to work as a cook for Cherry Creek schools.
The Brittons loved to dance and after their retirement enjoyed traveling across the U.S.
Mrs. Britton was well known for her cooking, especially her breads, cookies, noodles and banana nut bread. She also loved to crochet, knit and cross-stitch. She spent 5 months crocheting her granddaughter Dawn’s wedding dress.
Mrs. Britton was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, LoRee Burns and Dorothy Cook; brothers, Elton Atteberry, Harold Atteberry, Lehman and Charl Atteberry, who died at birth; and her husband of 59 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Wilma Szymanski of Salida; son, Bob (Charlotte) Britton of Calhan; grandchildren, Cole (Kim) Britton, Joyce Holman, Dawn (Chris) Williams, Todd (Phyllis) Szymanski and Misty Poole; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Burial was Dec. 31, 2012, at Elizabeth Cemetery in Elizabeth.
Dorothy Pauline Atteberry was born June 10, 1923
at Joes, name as Ritter in 1945, and as Cook in 1981. She died April 13, 2006.
Karen Kay "K.K." Unger, 55, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born April 15, 1946, at Denver, the daughter of Edward Michael and Dorothy (Atteberry) Ritter. She graduated from Douglas County High School in Castle Rock, Colo., in 1964.
She began working for Peoples Natural Gas Co. in Brighton, Colo., as a meter reader. After two years, she was transferred to Garden City where she also worked as a meter reader for the company. She retired after 17 years with the company.
A Garden City resident since the early 1980s, her special interests were crocheting, dancing and her family activities.
Survivors include two sons, Wade and Frank Unger, and a daughter, Anna Hahn, all of Garden City; her mother and stepfather, Lyle and Dorothy Cook, St. Francis; three brothers, Buyrel Ritter, Mullinville, Lloyd Ritter, Kiowa, Colo., and Wayne Ritter, St. Francis; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and a son, Shawn Unger.
Funeral will be 9 a.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City, with the Rev. Randy Caddell officiating. An additional service is planned for 2 p.m. CST Wednesday at St. John United Church of Christ in Idalia, Colo., with Mike Atteberry officiating. Burial will be in St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery, Idalia.
KENNETH EUGENE
In 1940 Eugene and Fern are in Richmond, California with Bruce W. 9. They were in Denver in 1935.
Kenneth, born May 25, 1899, died in Contra Costa County, California November 19, 1962, mother's maiden name Finch.
JAMES
October 16, 1914 Akron, Colorado
"Worth Atterberry died at the Atterberry home
near Elba, Wednesday morning, October 14, 1914,
from blood poison. The young man was 17 years
of age. While riding a horse in the night
time he rode into a wire fence, severely
cutting the calf of his leg on the wire.
It was several hours before medical aid
could be obtained. Worth was a gentlemanly
young man. Everyone who knew him was his
friend.
The remains were laid to rest in the Elba
cemetery."
September 1917 Akron " Mrs. Lesta VanMeter and brother, Walter Atterberry,
left Saturday for their home in Missouri, after a short visit with relatives.
Walter Atterbery bought Robert Atterberry’s place near Elba, with the intention of moving
on it soon."
October 19, 1917 Akron Colorado - Fairview items "James Atterberry left Saturday for Boulder
to be at the bedside of his brother and sister-in-law, who are not expected to live. Walter Atteberry of Elba spent Sunday with Mrs . Nickerson and family."
CHARLES
Myrtle M. Atteberry, widow of
Charles W. Atteberry, proved up a quarter in
section 4, 11S 43W (on the Kansas border)
in 1912.
