Addie B. Sell, 6 South 47 West

She might be the one in 1870 Walworth County, Wisconsin, 14, attending school, living with the Thomas and Louisiana Knowlton family - she was with them in 1860 as Addaline Ward.

Louisiana Knowlton was in Rock Island County, Illinois in 1880.

Adeline Ward married Portius Sell in Rock Island County, Illinois on March 3, 1883.
They're in Custer County, Nebraska in 1885, Portis 37, Adaline 29, and Portus Aluton Sell ten months.

In 1900 Custer County, Adaline born April 1856 in Wisconsin, is widowed, with Porter July 1884 Illinois, Jessie M. Dec 1885 Nebraska, and Eva P. Feb 1892 Nebraska.

In 1910 Custer County, Adaline B. is 54, Eva P. 18, and a boarder Susan Frishorn 14.

Jessie May Highley was born to "Addline Bliss Ward" and Portus P. Sell.
She's buried in Klamath Falls, Oregon 1885-1977. "She was born in Nebraska to Portus P. and Addline Bliss Ward Sell, on Dec. 2, 1885. On Dec. 14, 1903, in Loop City, Neb., she married Walter Highley who died in March, 1964." # #2249156.

Walter's parents George W. Highley 1844-1905 # 400233923 and Mahala Jane (Hooper) Highley # 40233923 are buried in Custer County, Nebraska.

In 1885 Buffalo County, Nebraska, G.W. is 52, Mahala J. 40, Celestia 7, Eddie 5, Josephin e13, and Walter 3.

Eunice M. Highley married Lorenzo Crist on March 24, 1883, and she died in Topeka January 28, 1900, with six kids.
Lorenzo died in 1937 and is buried in Kirk, Colorado # 67354384.

Milton G. "Shorty" Crist
I was born in Nebraska to Levi L. and Eunice M. (Highley) Crist. I attended the elementary schools in Nebraska. I married Mable May Burdick in 1910 at Arcadia, Neb. I came to Montana in 1914, at the age of 23, with my wife Mable. We had two children, Leslie J. and Loine E. They are both married, and live at Polson, Mont. I have six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
I worked for the Powder River Land and Cattle Company at the TN ranch for several years. I took up a homestead in 1918, proved up in 1921. 1 still worked for the TN, doing freighting with horses and trail wagon, driving four to 6 horse teams. The road houses were Big Mike's (top of Government Hill), the Preller Ranch, the Hill Ranch (on Strevell Creek), near Mizpah, Mont., where Mrs. Mary Murphy was postmistress for many years. There was also the John Kimball Post Office, on Powder River.
I carried the mail in the winter time by team from Mizpah to
Powderville, Mont. Bill and Tom Barnard had the Post Office at Powderville. The winters were cold, lots of snow, until after 1919, when they were not too bad.
I sold my homestead to Ed Love in 1935 and bought a ranch near Kinsey in 1936. 1 then bought a truck and went to trucking for the public, with my partner, Taylor Canoy. We did livestock and commercial trucking. I trucked until 1959. 1 bought my first MRC permit through Austin B. Middleton, Railroad Commissioner, Helena, Mont.
I raised sugar beets at Kinsey, Mont., for several years, then sold my ranch to Albert Schmidt in 1960. 1 moved to Ronan, Mont., where I raised cattle until 1968. 1 bought a home in Missoula, after living on a ranch all of my life.
My first wife Mable died. I was married to my second, Margaret K. May, in 1939. She passed on in 1963. 1 now have my third wife. We were married in 1964.
I thank God for the pleasure that I have had, by living in Montana. I am a Charter Member of the Range Riders Inc.

They're in Rawlins County, Kansas in 1915, W.T. 32, Jessie 29, Virgel 10, Esper 8, Gerald 6, and Dora 5.

Walter T. Highley claimed a tract in section 15, 6S 47W in 1917.

Walter Theodore Highley registered for WWI in Fort Collins, a laborer for C. H. Fischer of Walden, jackson County, Colorado. He and Jessie M. live at 312 N. Grant in Fort Collins. Walter was born August 28, 1881.

In 1920 they're in Malheur County, Oregon, Walter 37, Jessie 34, Virgil 15, Esper 13, Theo 12, and Dora 10 all born in Nebraska.

1963 Klamath Falls "Sixty years of marriage was observed Dec. 14 by Mr. and Mrs. Walter T. Highley, residents of Klamath Falls since 1925. They are pictured with children and 14 great-grandchildren. Also present for the dinner party were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wet of Oakdale, Calif.,. Mrs. F. C. Adams, Mrs. Ruth Townsend, Mr. and Mrs. William Davenport and family and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cooing.
Mr. and Mrs. Highley received many congratulatory messages from members of the Royal Neighbors with which Mrs. Highley is affiliated and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"

Walter died March 12, 1964, born at Sutton Nebraska August 28, 1882 to George W. Highley and Mahale Hooper.

Jessie Mae Highley, 91, died in this city Thursday, October 27, 1977.
She was born in Nebraska to Portus P. and Addline Bliss Ward Sell, on Dec. 2, 1885. On Dec. 14, 1903, in Loop City, Neb., she married Walter Highley who died in March, 1964. she was a member of Royal Neighbors of America.
Suvivors include her sons, Virgil Highley, Burney, CA and Ted G. Highley, Sonora, CA; daughter, Dora Davenport, Klamath Falls; 10 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. Another son, Esper C. Highley died in June 1974.

Virgil Daniel Highley, 97, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at his Klamath Falls residence. He is survived by his brother: Ted Highley, Placerville, Calif.; daughter: Virginia Ann Smith, Burney, Calif.; stepdaughter: Peggy Dunn, Arbuckle, Calif.; stepson: Harold Bernard, Anderson, Calif.; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren, and three nieces and two nephews. Virgil was preceded in death by his wife, Maude Highley; son, Danny Highley; brother, "Shorty" Highley and sister, Dora Davenport.
Virgil is buried in Shasta County, California # 95894797.
Robert Franklin "Bob" Davenport, 88, died Saturday, March 7, 1998 at his residence in Klamath Falls, OR. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dora Davenport, Klamath Falls, OR; chldren J.R. Davenport, Carson City, NV; Bill and Jean Davenport, Klamath Falls, OR; grandchildren Gena and Jeff Mack, Grants Pass, OR; Dave and Linda Davenport, Paul Davenport, Mark and Pam Davenport, all Klamath Falls, OR; great-grandchildren, Mark, Joshua, Justin and Keegan, all Grants Pass, OR; Jonathan, Adam, Nicole, Natalie, Ryan and Hannah, all Klamath Falls, OR; brother and sister-in-law Charles and Ruthalee Mauldin, San Jose, CA; plus numerous other relatives.
Dora Ellen (Highley) Davenport is buried in Klamath Falls, too # 32995585.
