Colorado Springs July 27, 1973 Linda Kay Hammond and Terry B. Tubbs were married recently at the Ivywild United Presbyterian Church. The Rev. James T. Snooke officiated at the double-ring rites. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. P. “Dutch” Hammond, 2004 S. Corona St. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wayne Tubbs, 1510 Auburn Drive. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of mira mist and rose motif lace with fitted bodice and natural waistline, high neck and bishop sleeves. The hoop skirt was designed in a redingote style with alternating tiers of lace and mira mist trimmed with lace. Her headpiece was a chapel-length mantilla made of the same rose motif lace. Honor attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Alan Tubbs, Colorado Springs. Other attendants included Miss Joyce Gatiss, Miss Cindy Gatiss, and Jim Herrell. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Dotts Restaurant. After a wedding trip to Buena Vista and other mountain regions, the couple is at home in Colorado Springs where Tubbs is employed bv Berwick Electric Company." LaVern James Pixler was born November 13, 1905, to Jacob and Patsy Pixler at Burr Oak, Kansas, and passed away October 31, 1970 at the age of 64 years, 11 months and 14 days. He died suddenly of a heart attack while at work. He lived all his life in Burr Oak, Kansas. He was married to Marie Sheard in 1929. He had eight children: Marion, Veda, Olive, Doyle, Patricia, Eugene, Junior, and Neta. Mr. Pixler was preceded in death by his mother, father, four brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by five sisters, Florene Baylie, Edith Hill, Ethel Siebert, Florence Valeka, and Gladys Applebee; one brother, Delbert Pixler; 22 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral Services were held November 3, 1970, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Mankato, Kansas, with the Rev. David Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Burr Oak Cemetery.
