Emil E. Friedhofer, 6 South 47 West



In 1900 Idalia precinct, William Friedhofer is farming, born March 1850 in Germany, married 19 years to Wilhelmina June 1846 Germany. He immigrated in 1853, Wilhelmina in 1872. William June 1882 and Emill October 1885 were both born in COlorado,, and all are farming.

August 11, 1900 Wray "Wm. Friedhofer and son, Will, were in from the Friend neighborhood to get lumber to build a school house, in District No. 88. Mr. Friedhofer will build the house."
Emil claimed a quarter in 10, 6 South, 47W in 1913.


In 1910 Kirk precinct, William and Wilhelmina are living alone, but William F. is next door., single.

In June 1911 Emil Friedhofer of Carey was a witness for the land claim of Daisy VanVinkle
William Friedhofer cash-claimed a quarter in 4S 46W in 1891, proved up a quarter in 5S 46W in 1896, and timber-claimed a quarter in 4S 46W in 1898 (Yuma County)
November 9, 1906 Wray "Mr. Friedhofer, one of the leading farmers near Kirk, accompanied the ballots over Wednesday and remained until Thursday transacting business and visiting old friends, among whom are Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Ferneaux."

December 11, 1908 "Mrs. Wm. Friedhofer of Fox is reported very ill and is not expected to live."

April 30, 1909 Wray "W. F. Friedhofer, living fifty miles southeast of Wray was in with a couple of load of hogs and loaded up a couple of loads of posts for ballast on the way back."

August 1, 1912 Wray "W. F. Friedhofer and Fred Watts motored over from their home near Kirk Saturday."

June 26, 1909 Lincoln "Wilhelmina Friedhofer, aged sixty- years, was judged yesterday afternoon to be Insane. Her home .... and she has been afflicted for the past month."

Wilhelmina Friedhofer 1846-1913 is buried in Lincon, Nebraska # 69926683.
So is William 1850-1925 # 69926684.

In 1920 Yuma County, Emil is 34, farming, born in Colorado, with brother William 37 born in California nnd father William 70 born in Wittenberg, Germany, immigrating in 1848.

1940 "William Friedhofer, of Denver, was a Kirk visitor a few days last week."
In 1940 Denver William is a lodger at 1324 18th Street, divorced, saying he was in Yuma County in 1935.
1947 "Bill Friedhofer of Denver spent the week end in Kirk and vicinity visiting old friends and neighbors.

William F. Friedhofer proved up a quarter in 5S 47W in 1912.

He registered for WWI in Kirk, farming, with his father as relative, born June 22, 1888.
William Fred Friedhofer registered for WWII in Denver, living at 1435 Larimer, born June 22, 1883 in Colordo, with Emil E. his reference at 521 East 18th Avenue, Denver.

Wm. F. Friedhofer and Nila Mayme Gilliland married January 7, 1923, recorded in Jefferson County, Colorado.

She might be the Nila Gilliland in 1920 Kansas City, Missouri, 21 a clerk, living with Arthur 45 and Rena 45. Leland is 13, George 17, Helen19Labette County, Kanss
William F. "Friedhafer" and Nila G. Friedhafer divorced in Yuma County in 1926.
Nila Gilliland is back in Kansas City in 1930, divorced, a clerk, living with widowed mother Lena 53.
Nila, born November 20, 1898, was in Tucson, Arizona in 1948. She died December 1969.
Nila was in Tucson in 1947 "Funeral services for Arthur Leroy Gilleland, 70, who died in a local hospital Tuesday night, have been set for 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Arizona mortuary, with burial in Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Gilleland, who lived at 3310 North Fontana avenue, came here four months ago. He was an interior decorator by profession. He leaves two daughters, Miss Nila Gilleland and Mrs. Helean A. Lovelace of Tucson; two sons, George W. Gilleland, St. Joseph, Mo., and Neland Gilleland, Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Edward Gilleland, Omaha, Neb. And Charles Gilleland, Witchita, Kas.; and five sisters, Mrs. Alice Stevens, Shawnee, Okla., Mrs. Rose Mathewson, Witchita, and Mrs. Jose Jarvis, Mrs. Nellie Booth, and Mrs. Mildred Hudson of Omaha. "

Emil registered for WWII in Denver, living at 521 E. 18th, working at the Alpha Cafe at 501 15th Street. He was born in Denver October 10, 1885.


Emil E. Fridehofer 1885-1947 is buried in Denver, # 93728368.

William F. Friedhofer was probated in Arapahoe County in 1940, and in Denver in 1952.
