Jerry and Sarah (Barnhart) Burlile, 6 South 47 West
February 1963, Eugene Oregon. Two former students of Northwest Christian College and University of Oregon, Miss Barbara Ruth Burlile and Richard Glenn Cunningham, were married Saturday, Feb. 9, in an afternoon ceremony in the Springfield Christian Church. The ceremony was performed by Professor William Richardson of Northwest Christian College. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Douglas Burlile of Chico, Calif., and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. 0. G. Cunningham of Spokane, Wash. Miss Burlile wore a floor-length gown of brocaded white satin and a fingertip veil of tulle, the latter caught by a crown of lace and pearls. She carried a white orchid and carnations on a white Bible. She wore pearls belonging to her sister. Mrs. Duane Cox of Eugene was matron of honor, and other attendants were Miss Shar-ron Kay McCullough of Silverton, Mrs. Donald Poetker of Chico, Calif., and Miss Carol Fredreich of Oakland, Calif. All wore gowns of royal blue cotton satin in sheath style, and carried pink frills on white Testaments. Their headdresses were of blue Spanish lace over a crown matching the gowns. Carol Lyda, bride's niece, was junior bridesmaid and Pcnni Burlile of Chico, another niece, was flower girl, their dresses like the others. Best man was Ronald Harris, and ushers were James Pomajavich, James Kcefe, Gary Ivey and Bill Wagnon. At the reception afterward, Mrs. Marvin Eckfcldt and Mrs. Earl Lyda, bride's sisters, cut the cake. Mrs. Clifford Skeels poured coffee. Mrs. Dean McBee and Miss Joanne Albertson assisted. Miss Ivadene Evans and Miss Dorothy Grover cared for gifts and Miss Vernie Ann Cunningham had the guest book. Pauli Burlile and Jo Lyda, bride's nieces, distributed rice. Following a trip to Disneyland, the pair is at home in Eugene. The groom is an ordained minister. |
Charles Cleo Burlile, 93 years, passed away on July 25, 2013 at Jordan Creek Nursing Home and Rehab., Springfield, MO. Cleo was born August 1, 1919 in Stratton, Colorado to Charles Franklin and Marjorie (Crady) Burlile. He graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City, MO. Cleo was an Army Air Corp Veteran and served during WWII. Cleo and Helen (Ganusko) were united in marriage January 8, 1946 in Kansas City, MO, and to this union two children were born. Cleo was a retired Professional Golfer. He had owned, created and operated the Southview Golf Course in Belton, MO, just south of Kansas City for many years. He was a consummate golf professional, running golf courses, giving golf lessons and playing the game most of his life. Cleo was a member of the PGA. After his retirement he moved to Florida, where he enjoyed his life there. Cleo was an un forgettable character. Cleo was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Helen. Cleo is survived by two children, Jeanne Scrivner and husband Tim, Ava, MO and Charles J. Burlile and wife Cammarie Johnson, Westborough, MA, and two grandchildren. Cremation services for Cleo are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. |
