Frank E. Rich, 6 South 46 West


Frank claimed a tract in sections 26, 27, and 34, 6S 46W in 1885.
"Heirs of Frank E. Rich" claimed a quazrter in 13, 6S 46W in 1897.

He might be the Frank E. Rich 1850-1883 that # 75964869 has buried in Benkelman, Nebraska - about thirty miles down-river from the Kit Carson County claim.

This one was in Penobscot County, Maine in 1870, 21, with Joseph 61 and Lorinda 55 Rich. Roswell C. is 31, and Joseph is 17.

Joseph Rich 1809-1892 is buried in Penobscot County # 94209368. So is Lorenda 1818-1904, Joseph W. 1852-1873 - Frank E. 1849-1889 is on the same stone "Buried in Colorado"
Roswell C. Rich 1833-1903 and Alonzo M. Rich 1843-1906 are on the stone, too.

He's a cowpuncher in 1880 Elbert County, Colorado (which at that time included the Burlington area). He's 31, born in Maine. There are nine young men working for Edward Swift 64 and his wife Anna Mary 54.

He's a saloon keeper in 1885 Benkelman, 24, born in Maine, father born in New Hampshire, mother in Maine. He's living with other young men, one of whom, Walter Williams, 23 born in Missouri, works in the saloon.
One post said Frank was his gguncle "He worked for a Mr. Herman B. Tuttle, who had cattle. Frank was born in 1849 in Exeter, Me he died in Co. in 1889 according to the family headstone in Me. I do not have exact dates just years. I understand the Tuttle Ranch was in Elbert, County and found Mr Tuttle had a registered brand."
