Louis and Gertie (Bryson)(Vrooman) Miles, 6 South 46 West
Lawson James Bailey, 52, of Rt. 1, Monroe, a resident of Jasper County for 18 years, died Saturday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral home in Newton. Elder Arthur Nichols of Knoxville conducted services. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Survivors are his wife, Margaret; a son, Robert Marshall of Fairfield; two daughters, Mrs. James (Mary) Henning of Rt. 3, Newton and Mrs. Bill (Karen) Samuelson of Newton; his mother, Mrs. Leola Bailey of Limon, Colo.; and eight grandchildren. Also surviving are seven sisters, Mrs. Roy (Helen Gilkey of Smithwick, S.D., Mrs. Don (Mae) Chancellor of Prescott, Ariz., Mrs. Merrill (Betty) Paulson of Limon, Colo.; Mrs. Dwight (Peg) Tritt of Sidney, Neb., Mrs. Pearl Beville of Fort Collins, Colo.; Mrs. Roy (Bonnie) Riley of Truth or Consequences, N.M., and Mrs. Jack (Rose) Kavanaugh of Houston, Tex. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Winifred. Mr. Bailey, a member of United Auto Workers, Local 997 of Newton, retired from the Winpower Co. in Newton in 1974. The son of Oris and Leola Bailey, he was born Jan. 25, 1925 in Colorado He was married to Margaret Koder April 16, 1960 in Bethany, Mo.
