In 1900 Republic County, Kansas, Fred Martin born April 1877 in Nebraska,
married to Mary October 1879 Kanas, have Belva born Feb 1900 in Kansas.
They're with Joseph Martin born May 1826 in Belgium and Anna January 1834 in Canada.
Another of Joseph's granddaughters, Elva, was born July 1886 in Nebraska.
In 1910 Kit Carson County, Fred F. Martin is 33, born in Nebraska,
married ten years to Mary 30 born in Kansas. Belva M. is 9, Thelma R. 7, Claud 5,and
Catherine one month.
In June 1910, Fred T. Martin is treasurer of School District No. 12, with the secretary Henry P. Simmons of Seibert.
He registered for WWI with a Vona, Colorado address, born April 24, 1877, farming.
In 1920 Kit Carson County, Fred Martin is 42, with Mary J. 40 born in Kansas. Bella is 20 Thelma K. 17, Claude 15 born in Kansas, Alice C. 9 and Vera L. 5 born in Colorado.
In 1930 Weld County, Colorado, Fred is 52, Mary J. 50, with Vera L. 15. Next household is
Claud T. Martin 26, with wife Bessie 19 born in Kansas, and Annabelle eight months old.
March 30, 1936 Greeley, Colorado "Fred Martin, 60, School bus driver for the Kuner district,
dropped dead in the cab of his truck at his home one mile north and half, a mile west of here,
Monday morning at 8 o'clock. Dr. F. P. N. Van Landeghem of Kersey, who was called, said that death
was caused by a heart attack. Coroner R. H. Armstrong of Eaton also was called to examine
the body before it was removed from the truck cab. Coroner Armstrong announced that
no inquest would be necessary. He said myocarditis, inflamation of muscles of the heart,
caused Mr. Martin's death. Altho Mr. Martin had not been in the best of health during the winter,
he had not suffered previous heart attacks, members of the family said.
He visited in Denver Sunday and took a motor trip up Lookout Mountain. He appeared to be feeling well
Monday morning. He milked his cows and ate breakfast. Then he went out to start the bus with which he
takes younger children to the Kuner school and the older children of the district to high school at
Kersey. About 23 children ride in his bus. His wife, Mary, when she failed, to see him drive away
in the bus, went to the garage and found her husband dead. A daughter, Vera, 18, ran a
quarter of a mile thru the snow to the home of a neighbor, A. R. Morrison.
Morrison said that the switch of the bus had been turned on, but that the motor never had.
been started. The engine was cold, Morrison said. Mrs. Martin also said she never heard
the engine start. These facts eliminated possibility that Mr. Martin had been killed
by monoxide gas. Body was taken to the Sattley Funeral Home in Greeley.
Relatives in Oklahoma were notified. Mr. Martin moved to Kit Carson county,
Colorado in 1907 from Kansas. He lived at Vona 20 years coming to Kuner in 1927 where
he worked for a year on the Harry Hiatt ranch before starting farming for himself.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, a son Claude at Thomas, Okla., and four daughters.
The daughters are Vera, at home, Mrs. Alice Brock and Mrs. Thelma Bilger,
both of Denver, and Mrs. Belva Maag of Kuner."
Fred T. Martin 1879-1936 is buried in Greeley, # 65228001.
On the same tombstone is Mary J. Martin 1880-1970 # 65228002.
Fred claimed two quarters in 27, 6S 48W in 1913.
He registered for WWI with a Vona address, born April 24, 1877.
Fred and Mary are farming in Weld County in 1930, with Vera L. 15.
Claude is next to them 26, married to Bessie 19, both born in Kansas, with Annabelle three months.
"Mrs. Mary J. Martin, a former resident of Kersey community, died Monday, September 28, 1970 at the Stanley Nursing Home in Denver where she had made her home the past several years. She would have celebrated her 91st birthday in one month.
Born in Republic County, Kan., Oct 28, 1879, she was married to Fred Martin in 1898. They came to Colorado in 1906 to homestead in Kit Carson County, and lived there until they moved to Kersey in 1927. After (Mr.) Martin’s death in 1934, Mrs. Martin went to Denver where she made her home at different times with three of her four daughters, until she entered the nursing home.
She was a member of the Baptist Church and a former member of the Kuner Circle.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. W. H. (Belva) Maag of Kersey; Mrs. Thelma Bilger, Mrs. C. B. (Alice) Clark and Mrs. J. E. (Vera) McCoy, all of Denver; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Ziebarth of Zimmerman, Minn., and a brother, Fred Regester of Minatare, Neb. Also surviving are a daughter in law, Mrs. C. T. (Bessie) Martin of Portland, Ore., widow of a deceased son, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Howard's Park Avenue Chapel, E. 17th Avenue at Marion Street. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. in Linn Grove Cemetery here.

Thelma R. Martin married E. H. Bilger on May 28, 1928, recorded in Arapahoe County.
In 1940 Denver, Elton H. Bilger is a fruit salesman, 35, born in Iowa, with Thelma 27, Geraldine 1 and Elton Jr. five months.
Geraldine was born July 6, 1928 in Denver, and died November 1, 2007.
Thelma 1902-1995 is buried in Wheat Ridge # 150402433.
Elton might have re-married "Helene, beloved wife of Elton Bilger,
entered eternal life September 3 at the age of 80. Mother of David, mother-in-law to Sue,
and devoted grandmother of Lindsey. She is also survived by sister-in-law Geraldine.
Memorial Service, Tuesday 11am, Bethany United Methodist Church, 1st & King St.
Interment at Ft. Logan.

Eleanor Rose (Maag) Dilka, 94, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Eleanor was born July 2, 1922 to William and Belva (Martin) Maag in Vona, Colorado. She was raised in Kunner, Colorado and preferred helping her father in the fields to attending the one room school. She adored her parents and three younger brothers. At 16 or 17 she attended beauty school in Denver to become a beautician. On July 21, 1947 she married Alvin Charles Dilka. They lived and raised their family in Weld County. Eleanor was a homemaker well known for her homemade cinnamon rolls and beautiful crochet work."
