1993 Salina Kansas "Mary Ann Dixson, 74, Atwood, died Wednesday, June 9, 1993, at the Rawlins County Hospital, Atwood. Mrs. Dixson was born Mary Ann Max on June 29, 1918, in Frontier County, Neb., and was a resident of Atwood since 1972. She was a homemaker, a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women Missionary League, both of Atwood. Survivors include her husband, John M. of the home; three daughters, Janet Loper of Lincoln, Neb., Rhodila House of Las Vegas, Nev., and Jean Germer of Junction City; two sons, Donald of Trenton, Neb., and Kenneth of Page, Ariz.; her mother, Mildred Max of Cambridge, Neb.; a brother, Eldon Max of Kemp, Texas; two sisters, Luella Teter of Arvada, Colo., and Margaret Johnson of Cambridge; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Atwood, the Rev. Allen C. Hoger officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Fairview Cemetery, Cambridge, Neb. John is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary; a son Donald G. Dixson, an infant son; daughter, Ilene Marie Dixson; his brothers Louie Dixson, Ed Dixson, Calvin Dixson and Richard Dixson; and granddaughter Karen (Dixson) Haskell. He was a longtime resident of Cambridge and Atwood. Survivors include son, Kenneth Dixson and wife Linda of Page, Ariz.; daughters, Jan Loper of Gardner, Kan., Rhodila House and husband Jim of Las Vegas, Nev., Jean Germer and husband, Jim of Gardner, Kan.; daughter-in-laws, Helen Dixson of McCook and Betty Dixson of Trenton; sisters Eva Burns of Salina, Kan.; Dorothy Max of Kemp, Texas; grandchildren John Dixson and wife, Sandy of Kingwood, Texas, Beverly Dixson of Page, Ariz., Kenneth Dixson Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev., Lisa House and husband, Philip of Las Vegas, Nev., Lisa Brown of Bonner Springs, Kan., Thomas Brown and wife, Opal of Lenexa, Kan., Jessica (Germer) Semon and husband, Aaron of Olathe, Kan., Austin Germer of Gardner, Kan.; great-grandchildren, Destiny Dixson, Kyle Haskell, Brad Haskell, Shawn Dixson, Aleisha Dixson, Devon Haywood Sofia Semon and Taya Semon. Memorial Services were Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, in Atwood. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Cambridge. Memorials may be left at the church to assist the family with funeral expenses. The family of John Dixson sincerely appreciate everyone's thoughtfulness. |
Louie E. Dixson, 85, died Saturday (Dec. 7, 2002) at the Cambridge Manor. He was born Dec. 19, 1916, to Thomas H. and Elizabeth Marie (Schroeder) Dixson 14 miles northeast of Cambridge in Frontier County. On Oct. 21, 1936, he married Thelma I. Campbell in Cambridge. He owned his own trucking company for 20 years. He then went to work for the Burlington Northern Railroad for seven years. On Sept. 13, 1955, he began work for the Kansas Nebraska Gas Company. He worked as a transmission foreman, walking the entire length of the gas line. He retired from the gas company in September of 1982. After retirement, he worked for the Lockenour Furniture Store delivering furniture. He assisted with funerals for Lockenour-Jones Mortuary until 1998. He was a member of the Congregational Church and the Men's Club of Cambridge. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Edward, Richard and Calvin. Survivors include his wife, Thelma of Cambridge; daughter, Dixie Lee and husband, Bill Simonton of Englewood, Colo.; two sisters, Eva Burns of Salina, Kan. and Dorothy Max of Kemp, Texas; and one brother, John Dixson of Atwood. |
