In 1869 in Whitley County, Indiana, Nancy E. Reese was the administrator of the guardianship of Robert Reese, deceased, for Frances M., Nathan M. and Alvee M. Reese.

In 1870 Whitley County, Indiana, Ellen Rees is 25, with Francis May 6, Nathan M. 4, and son Abby M. 2
In 1880 Whitley County, Nathan is 15, Martin 13, with Peter Ludwig 38, a farmer born in Bavaria, and Nancy 37. Joseph Ludwig is 6, Jacob 2.
On the same page are Bowen Reese, 66, and his wife Sophia 64. Then Hiram 29 and Sarah Reese with a son Elezer 3.
In 1860 Whitley County Bowen and Sophia had seven kids, among them Robert Reese, 2.

In 1885 Greene County, Iowa, Nathan M. Rees is 19, Alva M. 16, with Nancy Ludwig 42 and her husband Peter 43.
Nathan M. Reese married Annie B. Jones on October 3, 1889, recorded in Kit Carson County.
Alvy cash-claimed a quarter in 2, 6 South, 45W in 1891.
On the same day Nathan M. Reese cash-claimed a quarter in 12, 9S 47W.

In 1900 Wayne County, Nebraska, Mathew M. Reese born March 1865 in Indiana, is farming, married ten years to Anna B born in Iowa, Ora B. 8, Ellen 6, Clifford 4, and Earl 2.

In 1910 Brown County, Nebraska, Annie B. is 33, widowed, with Orrin B. 20, Clifford W. 14, Earl 11, Ruth M. 9, Eunice D. 7, and Lulu B. 3.

In 1920 Perkins County, South Dakota, Anna Reese is 45, widowed, with son Oran 28 Nebraska. Clifford M. is 24, Earl 21, Ruth M. 18, Dorthy E. 17, Lulu 13, and Rachel A. 9.
In 1925 San Diego, Anna (wid Mathew) lives at 1468 7th.
Anna is back in Perkins County South Dakota in 1930, living with son Oran B. 35, single.
The next household is Clifford N. 32, wife Stella 20, and Harold 3.
In 1940 Perkins County, Oran is 49, Anna 67.
Oran Ben Reese 1891-1967 is buried in Orting, Washington, # 18910632.
Anna Bell Reese 1872-1954 is buried in Orting, Washington # 18910646.

In 1900 Gove County, Kansas, Martin Reese born Sept 1868 in Indiana is farming, and his mother Ellen Sept 1845 Indiana, widowed is living with them. Her sons John D. Ludwig Sept 1878 Indiana, and Henry Sept 1882 Iowa are with them.
Joseph Ludwig is on the same page, born Sept 1872 Indiana, with Bessie M. Dec 1875 Iowa, Beatrice July 1896, Guy L. Oct 1897 and Frank March 1900, all three in Kansas.
J.M. Ludwig had married Bessie M. Lewis in Gove County November 25, 1896.
"Nathaniel Coleman Lewis, 69, died this morning in a local hospital. He was born August 23, 1869, at Fon Du Lac, Wis., came to Gove county, Kansas in 1882, to Topeka in 1921, and had been a resident here since that time. He was a member of Modern Woodmen of America, Sunflower Camp, Topeka.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Laura Lewis of the home, 1003 Forest; four sons, William Lewis, Waukegan, Ill.; Melvin H. Lewis, N. Clyde Lewis, Norman H. Lewis, all of Topeka; two daughters, Mrs. C.H. Rash and Mrs. B.S. Morris, both of Quinter, Kan.; a brother, Robert Lewis, of Topeka; a sister, Bessie M. Ludwig, Corning, Calif.; and six grandchildren. "

In 1939 when Nathaniel Lewis died, his sister Bessie was living in Corning, California,.


In 1910 Gove County, Martin is farming, 40, married to Sarah E. Reese Illinois.
In 1920 Martin is a laborer in Wallace County, Kansas, living in Sharon Springs, with Sara and Robert 8, born in Kansas.l
In 1925 Gove County, Martin is 53, doing odd jobs, Sarah E. 53, and Robert 13.
The Grainfield cemetery has a listing for "Alvin Martin Reese" dying January 25, 1934 "No marker". In the same plot is Lucy Bohn Reese 1859-1938, "dying Feb 5, 1938."
In 1910 Gove County, Lucy O. Bohn is 50, born in New York, widowed, and daughter Celia G. 21 Kansas is with ther.
One tree said she was Lucy Orilla Crippen.
In 1895 the Ladies' Library association of Gove City was chartered. One director was Lucy A. Bohn.

There is no evidence of a link between Martin and Lucy - perhaps the cemetery records assumed that her name was Reese because she was in the same block.
