KATHERINE
Katherine E. Davis 1895-1967 is buried in Burlington # 89207284, with Rosser 1886-1978.

Russell Davis died November 10, 2007 in Montrose Colorado at the age of 78. He was the son of Katherine (Nowak) Davis and Rosser B. Davis. As a boy, he grew up on the Davis Homestead, north of Stratton, Colorado, near the Republican River. When he was six, the old homestead was flooded out, and they had relocated to several locations, until 1942, when he was 13. His parents moved them to a new farm, east of Burlington, in Colorado. He graduated Burlington High School in 1946. After High School, Russell, known as "Russ," joined the Navy. He also attended College in Fort Collins, Colorado. He met his future wife at Fort Collins. He married Alene Marcum in Las Animas, Colorado, on June 3rd, 1951. They moved back to Burlington, Colorado, where he farmed wheat and raised Polled Hereford Cattle with his dad. In later years, with new irrigation wells, he grew corn, sugar beets, and pinto beans. A son was born in 1952, and another son, in 1954, and a daughter in 1957. Russ was active in several organizations, which included the Burlington Rotary Club, the Burlington Coop Board, Federal Land Bank Board, Sugar Beet Growers Board Association, Cattleman's Association, and Burlington Volunteer Firemen. Russ enjoyed the Denver Broncos football and liked to play golf. In 1998 he served one term as Kit Carson County Commissioner. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and Rosser Davis, and his identical twin brother, Stanley Max Davis, who died two years prior, on April 6th, 2005. He is survived by: His wife of 56 years, Alene Davis, from Burlington, Colorado, His two sons, Mike Davis of Burlington, Colorado, and Ken Davis of Kiowa, Colorado, also his daughter, Jenny Swanson, of Montrose, Colorado, plus 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Alice Nowak married Vida L. Davis February 11, 1924, recorded in Kit Carson County.

Alice is married to Vida L Davis 32 in 1930 Yuma County. She's 30 with Leslie A. 3.
In 1940 Yuma County they have Leslie 13, Margaret M. 10, David D and Gerrol J. 7, Wilda M.5, and Alice J. 3.
