Clayton Harlan married Jennie Bickford, age 22, on October 3, 1879 in Warren County, Iowa.
In 1880 Clarke County, Iowa, Andrew is 27, born in Iowa, married to Jennie 24 born in Ohio.
In 1885 Clarke County, Andrew is single, with parents John Harlan 60 and Asineth 56.
s 31, born in Lee County, Iowa.
John 1825-1889 and Asenith 1829-1890 are buried in Clarke County.
In 1900 Smith County, Kansas, Clayton Harlin born March 1851 in Iowa is a farmhand for George and Mollie Matson - he's listed as Mollie's uncle. (Mollie Anshutz Matson 1878-1973 is buried in Bend, Oregon # 30869347.)
In 1910 Kit Carson County, "Clayton" Harlan is 61, farming with Elizabeth 52. She was born in Illinois.
Andrew proved up a quarter in 13, 6 South, 45W in 1912, and another one in 1913.
Andrew C. Harlan, 60, of Hermes Colorado, married Elizabeth A. Anshutz of Lebanon, Smith County, Kansas, 52, in Burlington March 9, 1910. Both were previously married. Andrew was divorced November 1891 in Osceola Iwa, Elizabeth Decemb er 1908 in Smith Center, Kansas.
Elizabeth Anshutz died in 1932, buried in Smith County # 97127825.
"Mrs. Elizabeth Harlan, for many years a resident of Red Cloud, passed on at the Old Soldiers Home in Grand Island, yesterday, at the age of 73 years.
The remains were brought to this city and are now at the Amack & Son funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10 o;clock tomorrow morning, from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Matson, just over the line in Kansas. Interment will be made in the Oriole cemetery.
The deceased leaves many close relatives and friends who will sorrow at her passing, for she was ever of a friendly, neighborly nature and her death will bring sorrow to many. A more complete obituary will appear in a later issue of this paper.

Funeral Services Held
For Mrs. E. A. Harlan
Funeral services, in charge of Rev. Will Grimes were held at the George Matson home, and the remains were laid at rest by the side of her husband in the Oriole cemetery.
Elizabeth Ann Fruit was born in Dewitt county, Illinois, March 23rd 1858 and departed this life at Grand Island on June 29th, 1932, aged 74 years, 3 months and 6 days.
She was united in marriage to John Alexander Anshutz, December 6, 1875. To this union seven children were born, three preceding her in death, Alzina 9 years, Ida aged 38 and Johnnie aged 21. The living are Mrs. Mollie Matson and Mrs. Nancy Potter, of Smith County, Kansas, Wesley Anshutz, of Manhattan, Kansas, and Bessie, whose home at present is unknown.
Mr. Anshutz passed away on November 15th, 1903. They were old settlers here, having homesteaded in Smith county about 1978 and have made their home ever since. Shortly after her husband died, she moved to Red Cloud, where she lived until four months ago, when she was taken to the hospital at Grand Island.
She leaves to mourn her departure the four children above mentioned; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren; one brother, besides many other relatives and a host of friends.
