Frederick and Dorothea (Hilt) Bitsch, Wilhelm and Dorothea (Bitsch / Bietsch / Beach) Wall , 6 South 44 West

Frederick and Dorothea Hilt Bitsch, per one obituary - and sister Magdalena (Bitsch) Schultz's obituary said Magdalena was born May 20, 1890 at Burlington, She married Albert SCHUTZ in Littleton, Colo., on June 6, 1906. Her children are: Albert Schutz, Jr., Helen Schutz Marshall, Catherine Schutz McFate, Alberta Schutz Cozad, Marie Schutz Thompson, all of Denver. Her siblings were Dorothea Bitsch Wall, Regine Katharina Bitsch Bauder, Margaretha Bitsch Obluda, Louisa Birsch Bamesberger, Frederick Bitsch, Gottlieb Bitsch, Marie Bitsch Schutz, William Bitsch, and Christian Bitsch.
In October 1889 the Bitsch family left Germany on the S.S. Saale.
In 1900 Brighton, Colorado, Frederick Bietsch born Jan 1865 and Dorothea March 1848, have Frederick Dec 1879, Gottlieb January 1882, Mary Jan 1885, Wiliam Apri 1886 (These all born in Russa) Lena May 1890 and Christopher August 1892, both COlorado.
Fred "Beach" is living alone, farming. in 1910 Brighton, Colorado.
(next household is John and Katie Bauder, with their six kids.)
In 1920 Brighton, Frederick is 73, living with son Gottleib 38 and his wife Mary 29, Colorado. Gottlieb immigated in 1889, naturalized in 1897.
One site says Friedrich Bitsch 1843-1925 marrying Dorothea Hilt born 1846 in Wurtenburg, Germany, in 1867 in Hoffnungstal, Bessarabia, Odessa, Russia, is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Brighton, Colorado. It said Dorothea 1846-1909 was also buried in Elmwood.
Frederich 1846-1925 # 98774454 and Dorothea Bietsch 1848-1909 are buried in Elmwood.

In 1900 William Wall is farming in Yuma County, born Dec 1862 in Russia, married 13 years to Dora Jan 1869 Russia, have Mary Nov 1889, William August 1891, Fred April 1893, Christ Nov 1894, Louisa Nov 1896, and Lena Dec 1899, all kids born in COlorado.
Wilhelm proved up 62 acres in 3, 6S 44W in 1903.
The Colorado history said "married women such as Dorothea Wall, a German-Russian living near Burlington, sometimes had to run farms alone while their husbands took winter work in Denver, Pueblo, or mining towns."
In 1910 William and Dora are in Brighton, Colorado, with William 18, Fred 16, John 14, Lucy 12, Hellen 10, Martha 8, Godlife 6, Henry 4, and Elnora 1.
In 1920 William and Dora are in Brighton, Colorado, with Margaret 18, Samuel 15, Henry 13, Elenore 11, Oscr 9, Manuel 6, and brother Gustave Wall, 45, born in Russia.
In 1940 Weld County, Colorado, William is 77, widowed, with daughter Mary Rosenbrock 50, and her husbnd Herman 49.

(Henry C. Bamesberger was born Sept 28, 1886 in Hutchinson County, South Dakota to Henry Bamesberger and Mari Wall.

Nathan Kramer's fine site describes the trip - Heinrich and Maria sailed with Maria's sister Katharina (Wall) Lutz. One site says Henry Albert Wall was born in 1906 at Brighton, Colorado to Wilhelm Wall and Dorothea Beach, dying January 9, 1987 at Albuquerque, New Mexico.
In 1931 he's mentioned in the Greeley, Colorado Tribune - apparently getting a degree.
Margretha Dorothea Wall, per one post, was born Septmber 13, 1887 at Hofnungstal and died in October there, parents Wilhelm Wall and Dorothea Beach.
William Wall 1862-1947 and Dorothy (Beach) Wall,1869-1934, per # 102480535 are buried in Brighton, Colorado.

Gottlieb and Mary Beach are living alone in 1930 and 1940 Brighton.
He's buried in Elmwood 1882-1950, # 101368495 with Marie 1890-1985.

Sam Fredrick Wall, the son of William and Dorothea (Beach) Wall, was born on April 14, 1904 at Brighton, Colorado, and passed away at Hastings, Nebraska on September 18, 1988, at the age of 84 years, 5 months, and 4 days. He had been hospitalized at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings recently taking chemotherapy, and had returned to the hospital on Saturday. He died Sunday evening.

Sam attended Brighton schools and then worked at a local grocery market.

On May 28, 1930, he was united in marriage to Viola Brauer at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Polk, Nebraska. They made their home at Brighton, Colorado. In August of 1936 they moved to Hampton and opened the Wall Funeral Home, which they operated for 50 years. He also owned and operated the Wall Grocery for 38 years. They took over ownership of the Brauer Funeral Home in Polk after the death of Mrs. Wall’s father in 1951, and it was later sold to the Solt family of Central City. The Wall Funeral Home in Hampton was sold to Higby Mortuary in 1986.

He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton, Nebraska Funeral Directors Association, and was the oldest member of the Hampton Commercial Club.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, Bill, Fred, John, Artie, and Henry; and 2 sisters, Mary Rosenbrock and Helen Brommer.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Vi, one daughter Ann Heiden and her husband Fred of Hampton, one grandson John Heiden and his wife Sherilyn of Denver, 1 granddaughter Lisa Heiden who is a student at Kearney State College; 2 foster grandchildren, Courtney and Katie Wurtz of Hampton, 1 great-grandson, Joshua Samuel Heiden, 1 brother Manse Wall of Brighton, Colorado; 3 sisters, Louise Meehl of Brighton, Colorado and Margaret Kilpatrick and Elnora Stubbs both of Englewood, Colorado, and many other relatives and friends.

Maggie Bitsch married Wm. Obluda December 17, 1892, recorded in Denver.
William 1861-1948 and Margaret (Beach) Obluda 1874-1938 are buried in Brighton # 36423456.

Gottlieb Beach 1882-1950, # 101368495 and A. Marie Beach 1890-1985 are buried in Brighton.
Katherine Regina (Bietch) Bauder 1870-1928 is also buried in Elmwood.
Catherine Schutz, 1914-1980, daughter of Albert and Magdalena Bitsch Schutz. Her husband was Claude C. McFate, and they had no children. Siblings: Albert Schutz, Jr.; Helen Schutz Marshall; Alberta Schutz Cozad; Marie Schutz Thompson, all of Denver, Colorado
