Martin arrived in Johnson County, Kansas in 1883, born about 1850 in Germany.Frank H. Motzkus and Nellie Plymale, both of King City, Missouri, were issued a mrriage license in Gentry County September 25, 1909. 1968 Gentry County, Missouri "Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel for Frank Herman Motzkus, 79, of Stanberry, who was taken by death Sunday in a St. Joseph hospital following a long illness. The rites were conducted by the Rev. Russell Evans of Island City and burial was in the High Ridge cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nellie Motzkus, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Arlene McQuinn; three sons, Paul Motzkus and Jewell Motzkus, both of Las Animas, Colo., and Kenneth Motzkus of Kansas City. He also is survived by nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Motzkus, son of the late Herman Martin and Henrietta Rudot Motzkus, was born May 10, 1888 in Burlington, Colo. When he was a small boy the family moved to a farm near King City. He and the former Miss Nellie Plymale were united in marriage on September 26, 1909. Mr. and Mrs. Motzkus lived on a farm near King City until February, 1930, when they moved to Stanberry. Mr. Motzkus served as a Wabash Railway Co. section employee for about 20 years. He retired in 1956. Mr. Motzkus was a member of the Island City Christian church at one time. He later transferred his membership to the Stanberry Christian church. Frank is buried in Gentry County # 53943601.
