In 1900 Kay County Oklahoma, Bert Rice born June 1880 in Kansas, is a stepson to Wilie B. Stevens and Ada May Stevens and their daughter Pearl born Nov 1881. It said Ada had been meen married 15 years, having two hildren, one living, so Pearl mus be from another mother.
But more likely the Bertie E. Rice in 1900 Smith County, Kansas, born Oct 18879 in Kansas, with William July 1856 and Eliza born May 1862 in Missouri. Henry C. is 19, Susan M. 17, and William D. 15.

In 1910 Hale precinct, Yuma County, Bert E. Rice is 30, born in Kansas (at that time the land in 5 1/2 south was Yuma County - later transferred to Kit Carson County)
Bert proved up 290 acres in 34, 5 1/2S 43W, and 2, 6 South, 43W in 1913.
In 1920 Kit Carson County, Bert is 40, Grace F. 24, born in Missouri, with Alvin E. 7, Velma A. 5, Leo G. 4, Crystelle 2, and Lois M. three months, all kids born in Colorado.
In 1930, they've added Robert L. 8, Billie D. 5, Bert J.r 4, Joyce L. 2, and Melvin G. nine months.
In 1940 Burlington, Bert is 60, living alone, a laborer in a hatchery. On the previous page is Grace Rice, 44, Missouri, with Melvin 9 and Orvin 8.
Grace Florence (Winfrey) Rice 1895-1972, buried in Pueblo, Colorado, per # 23535296, married Bert Ermel Rice May 16, 1911, and they had children:
Alvin Ermel Rice (1912-1987)born Sept 21, 1912, married Bernice Hansen in Sterling Idaho April 27, 1939. In 1940 Bingham County, Idaho, Alvin is 27 , and was in Kit Carson County in 1935. Bernice is 24, born in Idaho, with her children Cleo Hansen 5 and Dale Hansen 4.
(Dale 1935-1985 is buried in Redondo Beach California # 70873776). Alvin died in Los Angeles County April 14, 1987.
