John J. and Sarah W. (Parker) Nohr, 6 South 43 West
The Ancestry trees say John was the son of John Matthew Nohr, born in Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin. In 2012, Emily Nohr wrote "My great-grandpa Nohr, a second-generation American from Germany, grew up in Cross Plains, Wis. Orphaned at age 12, he hitched a ride in a railroad boxcar to Yankton, S.D., the same place my German-Russian family members first stopped in South Dakota. He found work in nearby Hartington, Neb. In the early 1900s, he bought land at Aten, Neb., where he got married and raised 10 children. Today, Aten, which at one time had a hotel, school and post office, is nothing more than the original Nohr family place, where my grandparents still live. A dozen homes, gravel roads and miles of cropland surround the farm. - "

In 1925 John and Saddie are in Kanorado, Kansas, with Don 18, Gladys 22, Mary 20, Wilma 16, Joephine 14, and Olive 12.
In 1930 Kanorado, they only have Olive S., 17.
In 1940 Denver, Roscoe Turner is 33, Wilma G. 31, with Royce E. 3, and mother Sadie Nohr, 68 , born in Nebraska.
John J. 1872-1939 and Sadie W. 1871-1966 are buried in Kanorado # 67096444.
DOROTHY
Dorothy Nohr married Harold James August 31, 1918, recorded in Yuma Cuunty>
James, Harold V., Farmer, S. 26, T. G, R: 43, P. O. Kanorado, Kansas. Mr. James was born in Kansas in 1895, settled in the County in 1918, and married Dorothy M. Nohr. They have one child.
MARY
Mary Low Nohr, daughter of John J. Nohr and Sadie W. Parker, married Glenn Ballard Valentin in Orange County, California March 17, 1927. She was 23, Glenn was 27.
In 1930 Larimer County, Colorado, Glenn is 28, Missouri, with Mary Lou 25 Nebraska, and they have Donald W. 2, born in Wyoming.
All three are in Englewood, Colorado in 1940.
Glenn B. Valentine 1902-1960 # 67257901 and Mary Lou 1904-2004 share a stone in Kanorado
Mary Lou Valentine-Corn-Dynneson of Longmont, died Sunday, June 27, 2004 at Life Care Center of Aurora. She was 100.
She was born April 6, 1904, in Aten, Nebraska to John and Sarah (Parker) Nohr.
Mrs. Dynneson grew up in Kanorado, Kansas."
Don W. Valentine, age 83, a resident of Colorado Springs since 2003 and formerly a longtime resident of the Boulder, Colorado, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 22, 2011 in Colorado Springs.
Don was born on March 14, 1928 in Edgerton, Wyoming, a son of the late Glenn and Mary Lou Nohr Valentine. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the US Army. He was a longtime member of the Board of Directors of Camp Elim. Don attended Northeast Bible Chapel and previously attended Boulder Bible Chapel and Fairview Bible Chapel. Don had a strong faith in Christ. He was a graphic artist and illustrator and retired in 1993 from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Boulder and had also worked for the National Bureau of Standards. He was an accomplished artist; his work has been published all over the world.
He is survived by his wife, Eldonna, 4 sons, David (Marion) of Aurora, Dan (Margaret) of Colorado Springs, Scott (Ginger) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mark (Juli) of Port Angeles, Washington, 6 granddaughters and 1 grandson.
Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Evergreen Funeral Home 1830 E. Fountain Blvd. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.
Graveside services will be at 9:30 AM on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
GLADYS
In 1922-1923 Gladys Nohr of Kanorado was a teacher in Kit Carson County schools.
WILMA
In 1940 Denver, Roscoe Turner is 33, Wilma G. 31, with Royce E. 3, and mother Sadie Nohr, 68 , born in Nebraska.
Roscoe 1906-2001 and Wilma G. 1908-1998 are buried in Longmont # 42388118.
Royce Earl Turner 1937-2004 is also buried there # 42388120.
(In 1930, Roscoe Turner was in Hale precinct, Yuma County, with mother Naomi 46. Roscvoe is 23, Ralph 19, Retta 16, and Rachel 14.

In 1930 Los Angeles, Don Nohr, 23, single, is a gardener for French and Mary Nelson,
and Josephine Nohr 20, Colorado, is a maid..
Josephine's father was born in Wisconsin, so maybe an error.
In 1940 Denver, Don is 33, Rachel 24, with Richard L., 2 and Donna M. six months.
Don P. Nohr 1906-1991 is buried in Littleton # 141766099, with Rachel M. 1916-1994 # 14766113.

Josephine, per one tree, married William James August 10, 1932, and was in Denver in 1981.
In 1940 Kit Carson County, William Earl James is 39, Kanss, Josephine 30 Colorado, with Wm Earl 6 and Patricia 2.
Josephine Una James born March 2, 1910, died May 16, 1990 and is buried in Centennial, Colorado.
OLIVE
Per one tree, Olive Sadie Nohr born Dec 21, 1913 at Kanorado, married Herbert Raymond Anderson 1935. She died January 4, 2002 in Longmont, Herbert January 1982 at Loveland.
