Nellie S. Kean, 6 South 43 West
"Miss Nellie Kean" attended a Leap Year ball January 1896 at Perry Oklahoma in the opera house, accompanied by Fred Bailey, A.F. Kennedy, and John Knox.
Nellie proved up two quarters in 29 and 32, 6 South, 43W in 1913.
Nellie Kean was a teacher - receiving $40 in warrant - in 1910 Kit Carson County, and a year later Nellie Gergen was a teacher.
1911 Emerson Valley items, Kit Carson County " Will Davis, Ralph Camp and Miss Kean spent Sunday with A.T. Tyler and family.
1912 Nellie Kean received a certificate for second grade.
1912 Burlington "Miss Kane" was a teacher in the Intermediate Room in Burlington - eight students.
1911 Kathrine Kane was granted a certificate for teaching.
1911 on a visit to the schools "A few minutes were alloted to the pupils of the intermiediate and primary departments and their enthusiastic teachers, the Misses Katherine Kane and Rosamond Little."
She was Katherine A. Kane on the 1911 listing.
In 1910 Katherine is in the census for Stratton, 29, born in Minnesota, teacher, and has a roomer Jennie L. Tressel, 34, Ohio. (Jennie was in Greeley in 1920 with her sister Sarah Frances Tressel, and they're back in Kit Carson County in 1930, where Jennie is the county school superintendent).
Katherine Kane was a 1905 graduate of Holy Angels academy in Minneapolis.

Mary Kean 1840-1917 is buried in Allamakee County, Iowa $ 89971165.
BUT her 1917 obituary said her daughter was Mrs. Nellie Mannigel of Allamakee County.
SO THE ALLAMAKEE COUNTY ONE IS NOT THE KIT CARSON COUNTY ONE
Nella S. Kean, 35 married Henry C. Grabb, 36, in Colorado Springs June 10, 1914.
Henry Charles Grabb, born Feb 7, 1877, registered with a Burlington address, farming, with Nellie S. Grabb, wife.
In 1920 Kit Carson County, Henry is 42, Nellie 39, Charles W. 4, Alfred 3, and Martha K. 1.
Nellie said she was born in Iowa, and her parents in Canada.
Nellie Grabb 1879-1961 is buried in Burlington # 89182392 - so is Henry 1877-1970.
