He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Burwell at Was.. on December 23, 1888, and to this union were born four children, of whom died in i One daughter, Leona G Carter, passed away in Seibert, Colo. March 11, 1954 "Mrs. Elizabeth Hover - Elizabeth Henrietta Burwell was born July 29, 1873, in Lowell, Wisc. She was the daughter of Thomas and Harriet Ellen Burwell. She departed this life March 7, 1954, at the St. Joseph's hospital in Concordia, Kan., at the age of 80 years, 7 months, and ? days. The family moved from Wisconsin to Washington county, Kan. Elizabeth attended the Washington schools. On December 23, 1888, she was united in marriage to Clarence K. Hover. Four children were born to this union. Three passed away in infancy and the fourth, Mrs. Leona Carter, died in 1918.
In 1912, Mr. and Mrs. Hover homesteaded a farm near Siebert, Colo. They returned to Republic county, Kan., in 1930. Mrs. Hover joined the Methodist church at Washington when she was 1,!.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, her four children, her parents, four sisters, one grandchild, and one great­grandchild.
Surviving her are her two grandsons, Floyd Carter of Derby and Marion Carter of Burlington, Colo., their wives and seven great- grandchildren; her sister, Mrs. Lucy King of Belleville; her son-in-law, Roy Carter of Burlington, Colo., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held March 9 at the Bachelor-Faulkner- Dart chapel in Belleville with burial in ihe Belleville cemetery. Elder Walter Jones had charge of the services."
Lucy Burwell King - 1876-1958, Elizabeth's sister, is also buried in Belleville # 51950269.

Roy Asa Carter 1890-1984 is buried in Burlington, # 30800988, on a stone with Viola C. 1903-1965.
"Roy Asa Carter (1890-1984) was born at Fairbury, Nebraska, the son of Allen Asa Carter (1861-1920). He married Leona Gertrude Hover (1890-1918) in 1911 at Fairbury. They moved to a homestead in Kit Carson County, Colorado, in 1912. They had two sons there, 1913-1915. Leona died in the flu epidemic of 1918. Roy then returned to Fairbury, Nebraska, with his sons. He married 2) Viola King (1903-1965) of Belleville, Kansas, in 1919. They had eight children, 1923-1937. The family moved from Fairbury to Belleville, Kansas, ca. 1920, to Colorado, ca. 1922, back to Belleville in 1924 and back to Colorado in 1925. Roy and Viola Carter died at Burlington, Colorado. Descendants lived in Colorado "
1950 Belleville "Mrs. Elizabeth Hover left Thursday night for Burlington, Colo. She plans to be- gone about two months. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Carter and girls spent Thursday evening in Belleville visiting Mrs, Hover and Mrs. Tom King."
Floyd is buried in Wichita, Kansas, and Marion M. 1915-1976 is buried in Burlington # 89269685.
