POSSIBLE In 1880 Jewell County, Kansas, Abram Gates is 45, Sophronia 35, Cora Bell 18, Alonzo 17, Mary A. 15, Emma I. 12, and Wm. Henry 10.
William proved up a quarter in 21, 5 1/2 South, 43W in 1892.
William H. Gates born Feb 1870 in Illinois, farming in Jewell County Kansas in 1900, married eight years to Rena Jan 1875 Iowa, with Pansy N. April 1895 Kansas, and Bessie W. April 1898 Kansas. His mother Sophona Sep 1842 Illinois is wtih them.
The Gates family is in Jewell County in 1910 and 1920. In 1910 William and Rena and Pansy - NO Bessie- and Sophia are together.

In 1930 Wray precinct, Yuma County, William H. is 60 farming, Rena 54, with Roy D. 19 and Aubrey S., 17, both born in Kansas.
Pansy Naoma Gates Cooper 1895-1935 is buried in Downs Cemetery, Osborne County, Kansas.
In 1940 William Henry and Rena C. Gates are in Englewood, Colorado, with son Roy Dale 29. All were in Yuma County in 1935, and none have occupations.
Aubrey is also in Englewood in 1940, 27, with Marjorie 20, Dean 2, and Dayrl two months.
Aubrey E. Gates married Anita M. Buckner February 19, 1937, recorded in Arapahoe County.
Aubrey E. 1912-1981 and A. Marjorie 1919-1977 were married Feb 19, 1937, and are buried in Littleton.
Aubrey is the owner of a plot in Littleton, Colorado, where Anita Gates was buried December 1977.
