ADDISON
1932 Lincoln Star " A bath today was blamed for Addison Abrams' escape
from jail here. The elderly prisoner was given a bath by force at the
Knox county jail, where he was placed for vagrancy.
He had served as a trusty about the jail and court house grounds.
Soon after he was forced bv officers to take a bath,
Abrams made a dash for liberty, walking in the snow
although he did not have overshoes. When he failed to return,
a search was started. Twenty-four hours later, Abrams was apprehended
by Deputy Sheriff Emmonds after a chase through fields,
11 miles north of here."
