Lionel Jesse Connelly Funeral services were held for Lionel J. Connelly, long time Golden resident, at Woods Memorial Cahpel on Monday, September 22, Reverend Lyle J. Schossow of Rockland Community Church conducted the services at the chapel. Graveside services were by Sanore de Cristo Chapter Rose Croix. Mr. Connelly lived in Golden since 1917. He resided at 1804 19th St., Golden. He died Friday, September 28, 1969 after a long illness. He was 68 years old. He was born March 8, 1901 in Holly, Colorado. On May 6, 1925 he married Vesta LeProwse in Golden. Connelly wa a special Deputy Sheriff for the past twenty years and a Democratic Committeeman for the past eighteen years. He was also a member of Genesee Grange, National Grange, Rocky Moountain Consitory El Jebel Shrine, Denver; Morroco Temple, Jacksonville, Florida. He was raised to the sublime degree of a master mason on June 9, 1947 in Golden City Lodge No. A.F. and A.M. He received the Scottish Rite degrees in Rocky Mountain Consistory on November 15, 1947. Survivors are his wife Vesta V. Connelly of Golden; a daughter Mrs. Colleen K. Manly; a brother Llewellyn E. Connelly of Martinez, California; two sisters Mrs. Gwendolyn Ralston , Golden and Mrs. Beatrice O'Dell, Morrison, Colroado.He is also survived by twelve nieces and nephews.
