Perhaps you're familiar with Selak Drive in town, but do you know where the name comes from? In the 1880's, prior to Granby's foundation, there was a small town called Selak positioned along the stagecoach road to Grand Lake. While not much of a town, it had a general store, post office and horses for sale. In 1926, founder Fred Selak, was murdered after rumors of his wealth spread. Now, roughly 140 years later, remnants of the old ghost town still remain (on private property).
